Rep Power: 0 | | | I am 6'0". I am basing my goal on the BMI tables. I'd be real happy with 180-185 if 175 proves too difficult. The tables say 183 is my maximum healthy weight. I can remember hitting 180 for the first time and thinking that was a little on the heavy side. My, how things change. I started to take losing weight seriously at the end of April. April 29th, in fact, so I have been working on this for about seven weeks so far. I started by first eliminating snacks between meals. That alone was enough to see some immediate results. I then went to two meals per day and added exercise. The weight has been coming off pretty quickly ever since. I don't think it will always be this fast but right now I am enjoying it. I know they say not to lose it this quickly but I have to say I feel better then I have felt in years so I have decided to go with it.

Rep Power: 0 | | | Like I said, I am feeling good so far. My knee pains are greatly reduced, I sleep better, I sweat less (and thus I smell better), and I am just feeling better about the world. That can't be too bad, can it?
I've been averaging more than three pounds a week so far. That will surely slow down. Even so, I am planning as though I will keep losing at this rate. It may be foolish but it does keep me alert to the possibilities.

Rep Power: 0 | | | I didn't really feel or look different until I had lost about 15 pounds. It took a little while so try to be patient. I had to be satisfied with decreasing scale numbers without any perceptable changes in my body. I was beginning to think something was wrong with the scale but in time I could see and feel the difference. Now I can see just about every part of my body getting thinner. It's great.

Rep Power: 0 | | | Best time to weigh I have always been told/read that the best time to weigh yourself is first thing in the morning after using the restroom and before drinking/eating anything. In some ways this makes sense, but if I am not going to remain that weight all day I really don't weigh that, right? Anyone know anything about this?
Thanks |

Rep Power: 13 | | | Well your lowest weight is going to be in the morning because you wake up dehydrated, after not consuming fluids for 8 hours. Getting a lower weigh in, for many of us, is a motivating factor to continue pursueing successful weight loss.

Rep Power: 0 | | | Well, but it`s not exactly the right weight... because as soon as you eat you will weight more. I weight any time of day, but I`m just atking into account the food I ate recently, that`s all. If you weight several times a day, you may know your real weight more or less. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Doctors tell you to weight yourself naked first thing in the morning, BEFORE going to the washroom...This is your true weight because as one of the other posters said, your body is dehydrated from not consuming fluids while your asleep. The second reason this is the best time is because your body is in full rest...If you weight yourself every morning you will have a continous true weight and you should see that you're losing weight - if your trying to lose weight - whereas if you weight yourself at different times of the day you will notice the difference...Hope this was helpful...

Rep Power: 0 | | What time of day do you weigh yourself? Normally I check the scale every Sunday before I eat breakfast.
Are there certain times that are better for doing this? Or is it good enough if you set your own time?

Rep Power: 17906 | | About 20 minutes AFTER I wake up, but BEFORE I eat breakfast. I find that's my most scale-friendly time
