Most people say that you you shouldn't eat anything after 6pm. But maybe that is just not true and I don't have to go to bed when the small apetite comes up and I can just grap a pudding like you do! :-)
| there are a bunch of threads here on the eating after xx hour subject -and the bottom line is - it's the total amount of calories consumed in the day that matters - not when you have them... |

Rep Power: 10 | | You can eat whenever you want- it's total calories in for the day that count not when you ate them. I'm a late night snacker so I always leave myself around 400 cals to play with at night , otherwise I tend to go over. |

Rep Power: 8 | | | I plan for a snack but I'm rarely hungry enough to eat one. If I do it's usually chocolate caramel protein powder blended into ice and water. If I'm out and it's late I have a decaf latte with skim. |

Some days, I don't have half my calories for the day in by 6pm. Which is fine, because I have another 5 hours to eat them.
It's always a good night for me when I have calories / macronutrient ratio left for some oatmeal with pear as a late-night snack. Tonight will be a good night. |

And do you keep on losing weight although you are eating a sugar free pudding withlite cool whip in the evening?
| So far so good! I think I'm slower than most, but it IS coming off and it will stay that way as this is not a diet, but a way of life for me. FYI- the total calories in that snack are @70calories. |

Tonight will be a good night. | I can imagine that it is not always easy to have almost all the calories you should have a day before 6pm. I also think that this method is kind of stupid. It is better to say that you shouldn't eat 4-6 hours before you go to bed, because then your gastric is still full at that time. |

That is probably really good, because otherwise you often gain all the kilos back after having stopped the diet. And 70calories is acutally not to much. Great that you have found a good way for yourself to lose weight! |

Rep Power: 0 | | I've struggled with this a lot, I've always been a late night snacker so it's a hard habit for me to break. I find it best if I plan for a late night snack by leaving enough calories available so when I do eat at night I'm still within my calorie limit. I would suggest if you don't want to eat at all at night, try to keep yourself occupied and keep your hands busy. |

Rep Power: 12 | | I'm an evening snacker too. I know that I'm going to need that evening snack so I plan on it and save for it.
If you're a popcorn lover, those 100 calorie packs made by Jollytime are great. 5 butter flavor and 5 kettle corn and it's really a pretty good size serving for 100 calories. The kettle corn has that nice salt/sweet combination that I like. |

If you're a popcorn lover
| I have an popcorn pumper for air popping. I use spray butter and there is a brand of seasonings called Kernel Seasonings with a large variety for flavors-
I have at least 3 in my cabinet right now: Ranch, Parmesan Garlic, White Cheddar. So good, and virtually no calories. YUMMY! Popcorn Seasonings : Popcorn Recipes : Online Shop | Kernel Season's |

I'm guessing they have enough sodium to kill a horse...but thankfully I have no problems with blood pressure or heart disease so I let myself eat loads of sodium. |

| Not so much, I think. The link below spells it all out but salt has 470 mg of sodium, and the flavors range between 80 and 0 mg of sodium. http://www.kernelseasons.com/i/pdf/K...Nutrifacts.pdf
LOL one would think I work for this company or have stock- maybe I should! Would love to get a discount! |

Rep Power: 20 | | | Ooh, watch out for the serving size! My daughter puts that Cabot powdered Cheddar on her popcorn, and she could easily eat 1/4 cup on a bag of popcorn. Which is like 48 1/4 tsp servings. |

Then I am wondering why there are so many doctors who say that you definitely shouldn't eat after 6pm. It would be great it this statement wasn't true, but I don't know yet. Where did you get the information from? Or have you experienced that late night snacking doesn't have any effects on your weight? | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
