It's possible, although maybe not optimal.

Assume you can lose 1 - 2 lbs per week, which is a healthy weight loss. You have about 12 weeks to lose the weight. Your best and safest weight loss will be, at best 24 lbs. There are some variations on this that may help you lose weight faster - like people who are really overweight seem to drop the first few pounds with ease - but generally speaking, it's unlikely you can drop 30 lbs in that kind of time frame.

As an added incentive, though: the slower the weight loss, the less likely you are to regain it.

Oh wait... bad math on my part.

Sixteen weeks x 1 - 2 lbs per week. You MIGHT achieve 35 lbs.

It's bordering on unrealistic, If you're older (over about 30) or lead a very sedentary lifestyle then you may lose about 20lbs in that timeframe because you'll need to work on raising your overall fitness level without hurting yourself.

You'd really have to break down your daily diet and exercise plan for us to give you better advice.

I think it all depends on how much total you need to loose. In my first months I lost an average of 12lbs and sometime more. But keep in my mind I had 150lbs to loose.. Now that I'm closing in a goal weight it has slowed way to down to 6 or so lbs a month.

Don't starve yourself, Don't try some miracle cure, do it the healthy way and it might not be that 35lbs but it will be something and you will feel better about yourself

Good Luck

I honestly don't believe that age is a factor - it's an easy excuse - but I don't but it as a factor at all.. I'm 42 (ugh) and have been way more successful at weight loss than I was in my early 30s. (I could easily be the poster child for a sedentary lifestyle - I'm a software engineer -my arse is parked in a chair about 12- 14 hours a day - the only exercise i get during the day is walking to the coffee pot - until I go to the gym that is

The higher the starting number, at 1 percent of your total weight a week - 35 lbs is do-able - but if you're starting at a lower number - then it's going to be tougher.
