Rep Power: 7 | | Do you take any diet supplements (besides a plain 'ol multivitamin)? I know there are many many pills on the market, most of which would be considered to be dubious or controversial in effectiveness toward weight loss, but that aside, no judgement on this, I'm just curious what, if any, supplements folks are taking and how they think they are working for them.
I take a Chromium Polynicotinate capsule once per day (I took this last time on my diet and I swear it made a difference, and if not, I take it anyway for psychological motivation), and I have begun taking a Green Tea extract supplement. I am curious as to what effect it may have, and the effect I do like is the energy. I take it about 2 hours before the gym (at about 3 pm), during the time of day I start getting a little sleepy and come up with excuses as to why not to go to the gym. This is helping with that lack of motivation. I think it's helping my performance, too. Oh yeah, and ProBiotic 8 (acidophilus and many other probiotics for the digestive system), and a high potency B-Stress vitamin, which I also think helps with my energy and my body's ablilty to recover from a hard workout. |

Rep Power: 7 | | | The whey is straight protien, Good for keeping the Muscles you build during any one weight Lifting session. Personnally, have found this to be anti-productive to weight loss but great if your looking to build muscles.
The Fish oil is a great supplement to take as it helps to loosen up fatty deposits and make them easier to emulsify into carbon dioxide and water. given off by breathing and sweating. To understand how Fish oil works, You gott realise how other fatty foods work, Basicly the DNA of fatty foods is incomplete as we eat it and the fish oil helps to supply the missing dna chain so our bodies can use the fat for what is aht intened to do. ( Not sit there and look disgusting) If you don't like the name "Fish oil" look into Flax seed oil. it basiclly does te same thing.
The green tea is an anti-oxident. This means that it is good becouse it blocks those elements that an cause harm to the body if you injest to much. Foods dark in color are oaded with anti-oxidents. Grapes, prunes. as far as the green tea supplements go, the boost you get taking them before a workout is proberly more attributed to the caffine content than the antioxident. Be careful if your taking any caffine supplements AND the green tea as it can (ie: has in me) caused my heart to palpitate out of control.
Only through trial and error can you find the right combinations for you.
Another supplement I take besdes the fish oil is St. Johns wort. I feel it helps in keeping me motivatied. Its suppose to help with anxiety and deppressionasnd a host of other aliments.
Well, there's my yearly post. keep up the good work and NEVER GIVE IN!!!!

You hear people say, "eat good fats." Well, this is the heart of good fats.
Good fast comprise omega 3s and omega 6s. Most of us get enough omega 6 through things such as vegetable oil. However, most are deficient in omega 3. You find omega 3 in flaxseed oil, canola oil, walnut oil, and green leafy vegetables and fish oil.
The best source of this IMO is fish oil, for reasons we do not need to get into here.
There are so many benefits it is almost unbelievable.
Just to name a few... they can help improve body composition, increase insulin sensitivity, reduce inflammation, enhance recovery, probably the biggest of all is improves conditions associated with CAD (coronary artery disease, number one killer among us), can lower LDL (the bad cholesterol) and improve HDL (the good cholesterol), has been shown to help with depression, improves brain function.... the list goes on.... but you get the idea I am sure.
It is natural and it is necessary if you really care about your health. |

I would prefer fish oil over flax, but they are both good. Only reason being the conversion factor of EPA and DHA in flax, after consumed. |

Rep Power: 8 | | | Fish oil because my diet doesn't include any if much fish and a green tea supplement. I'm not really sold on the green tea extract helping you lose weight, although there is a little bit of evidence, I take it as an immune support supplement and I've yet to get a cold all season, August until now and going strong.
Another note on green tea extract, if you buy one, look and make sure it's standardized for caffeine as it's usually much lower.

Rep Power: 357932 | | | now since you've got that youth thing going for you - it might not matter to youo - but does it also help with skin texture and aid in dryness? (a magic pill to help remove wrinkles would be oooh so very cool)

I don't have it handy, nor am I about to go dig for it. But the usefulness of fish oil has been overly researched. One of the few things out there that has, without a doubt, benefits. |
