Rep Power: 83 | | Weight loss is such a slow process - but think of this time as the time our bodies need to adjust to better habits.
If it was a quick thing, we'd be back at our old habits and our old weight all too soon.
I don't ever want to do that AGAIN! |

Rep Power: 12 | | Me either! I'll never be able to express how much better I feel after I've lost some weight than after I've eaten some greasy fast food. Fast food really is just a temporary pleasure and literally seconds after I've eaten I feel terrible.
6 months might seem like a long time to make some big changes but living the rest of my life happily is certainly worth it |

I didn't write yesterday. The night before that, I had a little too much sugar but that's alright, it's over now and I don't feel too bad about it. Yesterday was much much better and I even drank my water and got to the gym
So for today: Breakfast
2 eggs - 4 pts (should have only had one whole egg but I ate both)
1 slice WH Bread- 1.5 pts
1 tbsp- 1 pts
1/2 cup V8 juice- .5 pts
= 7 pts Lunch
1 cup mixed veggies and asparagus- 0 pts
27 French Fries- 3 pts
= 10 pts Snack
low fat jello pudding- 2 pts (I think)
12 crispy minis- 1.5 pts Supper
Fries- 2.5 pts
salmon paddy- 5 pts
veggies- 0 pts Snack
strawberries- 1 pt
Whipped Cream- 1 pt
Popcorn- 1 pt
= 23 pts
So I just read an article about the benefits of olive oil in a person's diet. A research study has concluded that adding/ substituting olive oil for butter/margarine etc could have the same effects on the bodies ability fighting cancer cells as quitting smoking does. That's really interesting. I try to eat it a few times a day anyway but I had no idea it has such great potential consequences!
I really love how I'm living in an age where we are so educated on the foods that can help us stay healthy for longer. Sometimes I feel sad that so many people didn't have this advantage and as a result suffered tremendously so I really feel grateful for the information we have. I think we all need to be thankful and not take this information for granted.
I hope everyones having a good Monday!

I just decided to do some jumping jacks and jump rope. Well, it's been a long time since I've jumped rope but I'm telling you, it really gets my heart rate up. I can't do it for very long yet but it seems like a wonderful exercise! And jumping jacks...haha..I can barely do it for a minute straight.
I'll keep working at it but I'd totally recommend doing them to anyone who wants to get their heart rates going at home and raise their metabolism.
I'm so out of shape! LOL |

I bought a jump rope and just don't have the gumption to do it. I had no idea how hard it was or how in the world I managed it when I was a kid. |

So everyone, here's a poem I just saw posted months ago. The user said they didn't know who wrote it so since they didn't write it, I see no harm in posting it
Don't Quit
When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down,
And you feel like the biggest failure in town.
When you want to give up just because you gave in,
and forget all about being healthy and thin.
So What! You went over your grams a bit,
It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit!
It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change.
It's learning the skills to get back in your range.
It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now.
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow."
It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal.
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control.
To stumble and fall is not a disgrace,
If you summon the will to get back in the race.
But, often the struggler's, when loosing their grip,
Just throw in the towel and continue to slip.
And learn too late when the damage is done,
that the race wasn't over...they still could have won.
Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
but facing each challenge will help you grow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tint in a cloud of doubt.
When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit,
If you bite it, you write it....But don't you quit!
I really love it! |

Rep Power: 12 | | So I've just been pouring over the menu for Boston Pizza for the past hour trying to find something that will fit into my points for today with WW. I'm going out for a birthday dinner so I needed to find something.
I decided on the: Lemon Baked Salmon Filet
A tender salmon filet baked with fresh lemon juice and served with wok-steamed seasonal vegetables and tossed garden greens with raspberry vinaigrette.
This is 12 points which blows my mind. It has 28gs of fat which is a lot but I'm thinking it's because salmon has a lot of healthy fats, fine enough... it's also 550 calories which is also a lot but not bad for supper.
There are a few things that really bother me about Weight Watchers. When calculating point values for foods it doesn't take into consideration things like protein or sodium. So for example, the salmon dinner I'm getting has 330mgs of sodium and the chicken breast dinner I was considering getting had 1180mgs of sodium, but they're both 12 points.
They do calculate points using things like calories, fat and fibre which are very important but I just think they should also use sodium and protein too. People tend not to get enough protein and most people eat WAY too much sodium. I chose the salmon because it had so much less sodium and my body just doesn't need that.
I guess it just frustrates me too how restaurants only care about making money and peoples health comes a distant second. They have a healthy section for their menu but it consists of about 6 items compared to however many they rest of the menu has.
So frustrating!!! Peoples lives are so much more important that money and I also never took a look at nutrition at restaurants...I never really realized how much crap we consume. It's ridiculous and we should have always been aware of it.
I guess I'm done ranting now. Things are getting better at least. At one time they never would have put nutrition online.
I'm sorry if my rant seems all over the place. I just had a couple of things that were bothering me at once lol.
I hope everyones having a good day

Rep Power: 12 | | Alright. I fell off the weightloss wagon. Whoops!
Turns out someone at dinner had a SEVERE allergy to fish so I had to change my order and they didn't have much else to choose from. So I ended up getting a chicken sandwich...not horrible but not great.
Oh well, tomorrows a new day, right? |

Rep Power: 0 | | Hi Kino, your journal is very inspiring! I like your attitude towards falling off the wagon. coz when i fall, i REALLY fall!! I let myself go totally.
When i'm exercising & controlling my diet, i also go for regular massages, pedicures, manicures, the works!!!
When i starting stuffing, it's like whats the point? I look & feel terrible, but couldn't be bothered!!!
One other thing, u had suggested a while ago that i should shift my diary to the weight loss diary forum. How does one do that? * sheepish* |

Rep Power: 12 | | I'm not sure you'd be able to actually switch the whole journal over but you'd be able to start a new one I know it sounds like a pain hehe.
Thank you for your kind words. I'm trying so hard not to fall too harshly off the wagon This week isn't great though, I'll be able to do well for the next three days but then Friday and Saturday might be rough. Friday I'm going downtown for St. Paddy's Day festivities and while I don't have food to worry about, I will be drinking so I'll have to get to the gym that day and fit it into my calories
Normally, falling off like this would lead to days and days of binging and not caring so maybe I've actually made some progress However, weigh in this week will not be pretty! lol
Oh and my brother got my sister and myself spa packages for Christmas!! So we're actually using those up this Monday, so that should be nice and relaxing |
