Ugh- next door. My fiance wants us to settle down in his family's neighborhood eventually- we're talking parental units, sisters, sisters families, aunts/uncles and grandparents all in one neighborhood. While I think the networking and support would be fabulous, would we have a private life!?

I have the 10 minute pilates dvd- I can't say I love it- I find it a bit boring as I prefer doing kickboxing/tae bo etc but its something, I suppose. There isnt enough room anywhere in my parents house to do the former videos as my Moms antiques are everywhere Unfortunately, I hate the classes offered by my gym so I'm relatively SOL.

I think I actually said the words 'gosh darnit' at the end of my last post. Wow, I'm so cool...

Looking into tae kwon do classes for women in my area- Andrew is incredible at martial arts and I just find them fascinating- yet another activity to make the time pass.. Okay, time for me to leave work- Adios por ahora; A tout a l'heure!

No... you would not have any privacy! LOL. Although if his family is as fantastic as he seems to be then maybe it would be alright.

Gosh darnit you are SUPER cool!

Have fun at work... a martial arts class would woop your butt into shape! Good luck finding a class you like.

It's official. My scale hates me. ALl this hard work and I lost a BLOODY POUND. I would have preferred not losing anything [ok thats not true but still]. ARGH!! Okay, thanks- needed to let that out.

I'm feeling happy but slightly discouraged at the moment. I hate being uncertain if I'm on the right track or not so I'm trying to coincide my caloric intake with weight watcher points to be sure I'm not going over my daily limit. I'm only takign in 1300 calories a day- perhaps thats too little, as I'm not seeing any positive changes. Hello frustration. Considering reading the Serontonin eating plan as I ama ll too familiar with how such levels can attribute to weight gain/loss. Just tired of reading and trying new diet plans all the time!

And I've also grown quite tired of this daily heartburn and bloating. I'm on medicine number 438 and there has still been no alleviation. *Sigh* I have yet another doctors appointment in 2 weeks so hopefully he'll be able to figure out why my body is revolting against me. Leave me happy thoughts!

have you measured yourself? If not, definitely take measurements. I have seen very little as far as the scale goes for the last month, but I checked a few days ago to see about inches, and I've gone down in areas. woohoo.

With you being so close to your goal too, it's going to be a much slower process for you to lose weight.

Good Luck!

I agree with photocrazed! MEASURE YOURELF!!! Also, ONE POUND is awesome! You don't have a lot of weight to lose so it's going to take a little bit longer to lose it. One lb is just amazing. You should do an internet search on what one lb of fat looks like. Trust me... that's what you lost and that's a BIG DEAL!!

To cheer you up a little joke...

If fruit comes from a fruit tree, where does chicken come from?

..... a poul-tree

Come on... you KNOW this made you smile! Glad your day is sunny!

Thanks photocrazed and Holly for your support- Unfortunately my measurements havent changed lately and my 29 inch waist has remained the same! I'm trying to convince myself that the fat has turned to muscle which is why I am not seeing changes!

I have ordered the 'Serotonin Power Diet' as I have extensive knowledge about the biochemical regulation of serotonin, dopamine, etc. and the formulation of the plan just makes sense. We'lls ee if that helps bc this 1250-1300 caloric range isnt helping- and in the back of my mind, I know it is too little for the amount I exercise, etc.! Thanks for the support ladies!

P.S. Great joke Holly- I rarely understand joes and usually miss the punchline so it took me a few minutes

I know it's corny but it's from a Laffy Taffy wrapper... what do you expect.

What is the 'Serotonin Power Diet'?

Hey Holly-

I LOVE LAFFY TAFFY'S! I havent had one of those in years

The SPD is a diet based on your body chemistry. I am certain of its validity as I learned all about the effects of serotonin in biochem and have neglected to apply this knowledge for years no. Serotonin is known as the satiety or satisfaction chemical that turns off your eating. To lose weight you have to know how to activate the "off button'" before you either overeat or chose foods that are not on your diet. Basically, they maintain that they inform you of how to boost serotonin levels before/during meals so you feel satisfied more readily. It's backed up by scientific research and I can assure you that it is legitimate! It's not really a diet per se- it just teaches you how your body works, etc. Here is the link for anyone who is interested:

The Serotonin Power Diet

Take care

Happy Friday! Oh how I love Fridays.. and what makes them even more exciting is when the sun is out and its going to be 70 degree weather over the weekend- YIPEE! So beats the snow that was falling on Monda.

Lost another 1/2 pound, which is certainly better than nothing~ Trying to stay positive as much as possible! Doing another long session at the gym this evening and then going home to play my guitar and attempt to organize my life! Bartending tom night, praying that this beautiful weather brings me lots of customers [preferably the generous, amiable ones as opposed to some of my regulars]. There is this guy who comes in and sits for hours and leave NO tip- for anyone. It's quite annoying as he's so demanding and is always asking you to make these complicated drinks!

I decided that in this extremely chipper mood, I would write what I am most thankful for today:
1. I have the most supportive and loving family I could ask for.
2. I am marrying the man of my dreams in less than 6 months.
3. I have finally began to regain control over my body and my eating.
4. I have some of the most amazing friends in the world.
5. I have began experiencing days where I genuinely feel beautiful, an experience I have longed to endure.
6. I am healthier than I have been in a decade as I no longer consume alcohol, binge/purge and eat very few sweets.
7. I have found some incredible friends on this forum who rae relentlessly supportive and tolerant of my rambling! Thanks everyone

Boss just called- she'll be out today as her daughter is ill. That means I'll sit around without much to do as my projects are nearly finished. I really should try to excel at productivity but with a month left at this hellhole, i just couldnt be bothered. Have a fab day everyone!

I weighed myself yesterday while PMSing and it said i GAINED two pounds! Today it was gone. One pound is excellent!

About WW points...I tried that on and off for two years and never succeeded. here's the thing about matching points w/calories. One WW point can vary from 35 calories to over 100! Compare a piece of high fiber bread with a small piece of cheese- points factor in fat versus fiber. So if you are supposed to have say 20 points a day, that can equate 2,000 calories or 700 calories! My metabolism slowed down on WW and I was ravenous.

I'm currently having 1,600 a day. Before I started my diet I was averaging 2,200 a day. I've been using fitday religiously for the last six months and make sure that I get at least 25 grams of fiber a day and no more than 25 percent of calories from fat. I feel satisfied so far, and hope to lose a pound a week. Since you are exercising, I would think 1,300 would be too low to feel good while on it long term.

I'm also tired of diet plans. When I kept my weight off for ten years, it was a way of life. You can do it!!!!

YAY FOR YOU!!! You are having such a grea day! I'm so happy that your newly warmed weather is inspiring such a cheerful mood full of happy revelations! On top of that you've lost another 1/2 lb!! You are on fire...

I hope that you have a nice night bartending as well. I have a friend who bartends and she makes really good money. I suppose that's because she's a super flirt... lol. Well, that's what she does for a living so I'd hope she'd be good at it. GOOD LUCK TO YOU tonight!

HEY! I was only considering using the WW points as an additional measure- I am on 1300 calories a day for a few weeks and will then increase it to 1400/1500 as time progresses. Weight fluctuation is the devil, isnt it? Makes you feel amazing one day and like s*** the next.. Suppose that is why we're not supposed to weigh ourselves so often

Just had a crazy morning and came back to the office STARVING- Had a 100 calorie bag of popcorn and a kiwi. Ate too fast- feel so full~ Have a great day
