Rep Power: 43 | | I'm so excited it worked. YES!!!!! Well, I'm a full time working mom age 38 with Twin 17 year old boys. My hubby is this totally fit awesome, not an ounce of fat on him kind of guy. Next to him I feel like an Orca. I'm not kidding, he has these rock hard abs, I'm jealous, and he can eat like a hog (junk) and never gain a pound. Me, I look at food, and WELLA!! I will say he's a total sweet heart and has NEVER made a bad comment about the way I look, it's always positive. How did I find this guy. LOL LOL~~ Well, let's just start my boring story out by saying I was always that slim kid in school. Yep, I ran about 128 lbs all through highschool. I'm 5.6 is your wondering. I looked great!! But..... I never showed it off. I was that cheerleader/basketball player, but when I wasn't in uniform, I always covered up. NOW, I could just kick myself in the butt, ever since I had my twins, and granted they are 17 now I have carried weight UP and DOWN, I'm pretty much at my highest at 193 and can't seem to get rid of it. My hubby signed us up for the gym last Feb 2006, I've been going ever since at least 3-4 days a week. I bust butt at that place, I do cardio and I work it hard. I usually run at least 4 miles and then bike another 8 miles. I do weights every other visit. You would think after a year I would have lost a pound right?? NOPE, my body is fighting against me, it won't budge. So, I did the obvious and cut my calories way back. I've been consuming around 1500 a day, not much from before, I was probably consuming 1800-2000. Come on it's so insane. I lost 2 pounds last week. YEAH!! BUT.... who can see 2 pounds, and my clothes don't fit any different. I'm ready to scream!! what am I doing wrong?? I'm a good eater, I love veggies, and I LOVE fruit. I hate Red meat, and love Chicken. I'm a carb person, love the bread and pasta too, but have cut that out since two weeks back. I need some motivation and fast, I'm raedy to break. Enough of my blubbering for the day, Thursday is a new day. It's Back to Group Centergy class, it's part tia-chi, pilates and yoga. LOVE IT!! Thanks to this wonderful WEBSITE!! XOXOOXOX

Rep Power: 12 | | Hello Ladybug Welcome to Weight Loss Forum. I have not been at this long, but already feel like a part of the family, so I think you will, too, in no time. Your story sounds a lot like mine. I was also thin and athletic in high school. I ws a cheerleader, played basketball, and ran track and cross country. I could always eat whatever I wanted, too. THEN-along came marriage and kids and LOTS of weight I think you will find this place very encouraging and many people have lots of great advice. I have learned so much. Anyways, welcome to you and I will be keeping and eye out for updates from you! Good luck and Happy weight loss to you. |

Rep Power: 43 | | *tiffany* Thank you so much for posting your support. I'm actually pretty excited knowing I have someone who has gone through the same scenerio as myself. How long have you been trying to drop those festy pounds? I got down to about 138 10 years ago, and just moved back up again. I'm so sick of this and I'm ready to look good again and for the last time!! I also ran track in highschool, I loved anything having to do with moving and sweating. I could eat a gallon of ice cream a week and a large pizza to myself. Not anymore, I eat maybe one piece of pizza and no ice cream. Have you ever tried wheat pasta?? Is it any good?? Again, Thank you so much for the feedback, I'm now excited about taking this new journey!!

Rep Power: 12 | | | Hey again. Well, I have not been at it very long as I seem to have been pregnant or caring for an infant for the last FIVE years. My last baby was born last March and I kinda started then. I lost 30 lbs shortly after her birth...then I gained 20 back. I re-started on Jan 1st this year, but did not get serious or really commited until the beginning of March. So technically, I have been at it about a month. I have lost about 10lbs in that time and half an inch to an inch off of my measurements. Let me HUGHLY recommend that you take your measurements and chart them in a paper journal or notebook. That way when the scale might not be moving the way you want, you can re-take your measurements to see the changes there. I have found this to be VERY encouraging...and like I said, I HIGHLY recommend it. Also, have you figured out your BMR and caloric needs yet? Just wondering because doing that has made a big difference for me, too. Anyway, this has turned into a novel, so I will cut it off.
And by the way, just saying the word "pizza" gets me going...it is very nearly my favorite food on the planet. lol Oh and I have tried the whole wheat pastas...I thought they tasted pretty nasty, but you get used to it. I have trained myself to get used to a lot of things I originally thought to be nasty...like 1% milk. |

Welcome to the WLF and your diary!
It sounds like you're eating well and doing all the right things at the gym...Have you posted your info in the Harsh Truth section? They might have some suggestions for changing things up a bit.
That said, I'm sure doing what you're doing is helping - have you taken measurments lately? |

Rep Power: 43 | | | ~~ Easter Candy~~ Oh my word, more temptations coming our way. Easter chocolate. OH MY!!! I'm not going to give in, I PROMISE! But, I love those wonderful Cadbury Eggs. HAHAHHA I got up this morning, made my wonderful coffee and took my shower as I always do. But..... I did have a small bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats, with 1% milk. It's starting to wear off right about now. So, should I choose that pretty green apple? Or that orange which we all know, you never know until you actually take a piece if it's going to have taste, or taste like rank poison. LOL LOL I think I'll try the apple, mmmm I love green apples. For lunch, my wonderful hubby stopped by Sam's lastnight and picked me up this case of Healthy Choice soups, I've never had them before but the labels look delicious, which means they probably have NO TASTE what so ever OH, by the way, the venture into my closet this morning, left me less than thrilled. How long can I keep this past 10 years worth of bad fashion?? I know I really need to head to the mall for some new clothes, but the thought of actually trying things on and looking any good at all, scares the hell out of me. I HATE MALL MIRRORS, and I really hate the sizes I have to grab off the rack to try on. It's torcher I tell ya, really bad nightmare torcher. So, I will hold off another 6 months on that, and keep wearing the same old jeans I've had for the past 3 years. Oh Lord please help me to lose this weight by September, I want to wear nice clothes again, and something that doesn't look like a muffin fresh out of the oven. Well, I'm off for now, I'll report back with my findings on how good or bad this healthy choice soup is.

Rep Power: 12 | | Sounds like you are off to a good start! And as far as the shopping thing goes...Let me tell you there is more than one shopaholic on this forum(me being one of them) I am going to have to start a saving account for all the clothes I am going to buy when I reach my goal weight...lol.
So, you said you ate the soup, but I don't recall you saying if it was any good? Well? Well? Well? .....what? pushy?? ME?????? hahaha
By the way, the teams are part of a challenge that started April 1st. Check out the CHALLENGE section(links to the left) and be poised for the next one or join one in progress if you can. The leader/starter usually gives a good prior notice so everyone has a chance to check them out. |

Rep Power: 43 | | Thanks Tif for the info on the Challenge forum, I'll check it out later today if I get the chance. The soup was not bad, it wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. If it says LOW SODIUM, that means it's somewhat bland, But I didn't put any salt in it, pepper is my seasoning of choice
I went to the gym last night like I said I would and OH MY WORD, I worked out hard!! I went on the Ellyptical *sp* for 40 minutes, not sure how many miles I ran on it, but it said I went over 5,885 steps and burned 510 calories, so I guess I was jamming. LOL LOL I get so lost into the music on my IPOD I hardly notice what's going on around me, but I get off soaked, so I feel good about doing it. Then my girlfriend asked me to stay for the Group Centergy class which is that one I said early in my post about part Tia-Chi part Pilates and part Yoga, it's a butt kicker. By the end of the night I was exhausted.
I went home, turned on the tv, played a DVR recording of Medium and ate the following for dinner. OH and NO WINE last night. Just water!
1 fajita flower tortilla
1 extra lean hamburger patty
ton of lettuce
ton of tomato
made a little wrap for myself. It was filling and did the trick. I wasn't sure abou the patty at first, but it's one of those prepackaged deals and it said he patty is only 180 calories, so I was good with that. I need that protein.
It's Good Friday, so my office is closing half day today, I really want to catch that group groove class at 4:30 but if we get off early, I may not stick around town that long to wait for it. I live about 19 miles out of town in the country, so I'm sure once I get out there, I won't want to drive back into town, but we will see.
I really don't have to many plans for this weekend, my husband has a football game in Lawton OK, he plays Semi-Pro. on Saturday. I will probably stay home and take my son's to get a haircut, get my car in for it's routine oil change and rotate those tires. And cover all the veggies we planted in the garden, because a frost is headed our way. Sunday, Easter stuff of course. It's not as fun anymore as my sons are both 17 and think they are to old for Easter egg hunts. I bet I could entice them if I add dollars in those eggs.
Well, I'm off to work. I had a bowl of cereal this morning at 7am and I brought another can of Healthy Choice soup for lunch and an apple. Wish me luck!!!! |

Rep Power: 83 | | Good Morning Miss Ladybug
It JUST hit me yesterday that we were going to have to find time between now and Sunday to get the eggs colored and the thought occured to me, when is this going to end? Not that I was wishing it to, but my daughter is 10, she KNOWS the Easter Bunny isn't real (Oh, should have put a spoiler warning in there!), but man she is SO not ready to give up free and easy candy LOL!
Your workout sounded GREAT!
Enjoy your weekend, |

Rep Power: 43 | | OH my gosh, I'm so proud of myself, my boss just invited me to lunch at a good Chinese place and I declined. I can't believe I actually said No thank you! I love chinese, not as much as I love Mexican food, but I do love it. I'm so very proud of myself. I'm going to do it, Just wait and see, it's going to happen for me this time. I've worked so hard, and I'm not giving in to any temptations this time. Sure, I might have a piece of cake for Easter, but it will be tiny, I'm not going to deprive myself of anything. Just portion control, well it's off now to eat my Healthy Choice soup. mmmmm, I'm starving!!!!

Rep Power: 43 | | I did it!! I lost 3 lbs this past week. YEAH!! I think the key was not eating pasta or bread. We will see as I plan on doing the same thing this week. I've been focusing more on eating Whole grains and smaller portions. Last night was a bad one, my puppy has an ear infection so he didn't sleep a wink and he kept me up all night long. We have an appointment in about 45 minutes, so I hope it will make him feel much better. I brought him into work with me and needless to say he's not laying down. uggg. I'm tired, it's Monday and I would rather be at the gym right now working out this frustration. I sure hope it doesn't make me eat something I don't want to. I brought in oatmeal for breakfast, but have not had time to eat yet. I haven't even enjoyed a cup of java this morning. OH I HOPE this day goes by fast and ends better than it has started. I'll get back on later and write about if i get the chance. Hope everyone had a great Easter Weekend
XOXO

Rep Power: 26 | | You are doing awesome and the weight is coming off.
I am losing four pounds a month eating 20% below maintenance. If you calculate this for yourself you'll probably think the numbers look high, but its working! Maintenance = 15 calories x bodyweight in pounds. Eat 20% below that and you'll be a happy camper.
But it sounds like you know what you're doing. Keep up the good work.
I also have sixty pounds to lose. But when I started I didn't think I'd be able to lose weight. Hence my first goal of 180. I'll definitely be going the whole way afterward.
Be happy! You're on the right track. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
