Well, I've never done this before but am certainly up for trying something new. I'm in need of some motivation. I'm getting married in October and want to lose between 10-20 pounds before then. (10 to start- keeping my goals small and achievable). My biggest problem is socializing. My friends and I go out several times a week for drinks and food. I don't drink much alcohol but I'm a sucker for greasy bar food and need to start resisting. I find if I avoid it for a few weeks, I don't crave it anymore, but it's those first few weeks that are the hardest.
I often find myself saying (after a hefty plate of wings or fries) Tomorrow I will start fresh...unfortunately it's always tomorrow and never TODAY that I get started. I also don't have much time for exercise as I am a student teacher working part time...so my spare time is spent sleeeeeping .
Not sure if I'll post all the food I eat, but I will try to keep up with it.
Todays weight : 170lbs.
Food
Breakfast:
1/2 cup cottage cheese
Raison bread toasted with peanut butter
Food:
Croissant for breakfast (I know I know...lazy food)
Ham, Cottage Cheese, Grapes, Salad for lunch
Thai noodles (left overs) for dinner
Still at 170...not surprisingly, this has been a really lazy week for food...I'm fighting a cold and don't really have the energy for making super healthy dinners... Though the Thai noodles aren't terrible
Off to bed for moi

You checked out my diary, so i decided to check yours out too.
Congrats on getting married. = -) Have you found a dress yet?
I hear you about the motivation part. Take a look at my journal entry from today. I had a crappy day.
Maybe some of these not so "newb" people can give us some advice!
I did well on my diet today, but I just felt blah. There's always tomorrow.
I see you like soda too Im a coke girl myself. Pepsi was always the "off" brand for me.
But I do live in Atlanta the home of Coca-cola.
If I believed in suing places for selling fattening foods/sweets that would be the place I'd go for. I know that soda pop is a big reason for my weight gain.
But I know its my fault for drinking it, not theirs for making it! lol

*Join some challenges here at the forum---it's always easier to get motivated when others are going along with you.
*Do not kill yourself over a 'bad day'. It's going to happen, so just let it be and try harder the next day.
*I know some people buy an outfit in their goal size and hang it out so that they see it every day. I personally buy new clothes (not a whole new wardrobe, just some new items so that I'm not swimming in all my old fat clothes) when I go down a size or two. It's lots of fun!
*The more time I spend here, the more motivated I am. There's something about seeing other people dropping the weight that makes me feel more comfortable.
Oh! and welcome to the forum...I'm Kaitie. I tend to have very emotional moments in my diary, but at least they're entertaining to read (or so I've been told)

THanks for the advice gals! Much needed, today sucked big time
I've been sick for a few days which means not much eating, but today was a day of stress after stress after stress...and while I didn't slip a TON (as in I didn't eat much, but what I did eat was junky food)...argh.
Plus my new walking regimine started today (with a friend) and of course it's freezing and rainy...haha. Walking off the stress would have been good.
Anyway...I'm hoping to post a bit more often now that I'm feeling less craptacular (though still stressed to the max). I'm not even going to bother posting what I've eaten...it's too upsetting, haha.

Thanks! I actually had a good day today, I had tacos for dinner (but home made ones with whole wheat tortilla shells and beans vs. meat etc). so that was good, and my friend and I went on an hour walk! Sadly (or maybe happily) I left my scale at home (I'm at school for 2 weeks) so no weighing in...but maybe that's good
Hoping to get out for another walk tomorrow if the weather is nice!

Woohoo! Another one hour walk today!! I'm trying to focus more on exercise than food (though I'm still eating healthily) since that has always been the downfall to my weightloss ...Two good days in a row! I'm on a roll...really wish I had my scale here though...haha

1 hard boiled egg
cheese and lettuce sandwich on whole wheat bread
banana
Cucumber slices
SMALL bowl of maple walnut crunch ice cream
1/2 cup of party mix (pretzels, ringolos etc)
(I had a headache and snacks seemed like a good idea, lol)
Dinner: Nachos (with just cheese, lettuce tomatos)
So not an UBEr healthy ending to the day (pretty much just a healthy AM) lol, but I still went on the hour long walk. So woohoo for me! My roomie and I found some really nice paths around our house so the walks are very nice and nature-ish...much better than city walking
Okay, off to relax and sleep
Oooh, also drank a LOT of water today and NO CAFFIENE (herbal tea in the am) woooohoo!

You're meals don't seem bad for someone who's focusing more on exercise. Be proud of yourself!
Oh, and if you really want a scale you can get a cheap one for $5 at wallyworld (walmart). Its accurate enough to show the changes in your weight, but kind of flaky.
That last meal you posted was vege-o-licious
I love vegetables actually. Much more than fruit.
Something about fruit.. just.. doesn't do it for me. Not really anyways. Unless its mandarin oranges on a salad. Yum!
Kudos to you on the no caffiene!! Tea sounds wonderful. Think ill give myself a dose of "Sleepytime tea" (glorified chamomile).

1 boiled egg
Glass of milk
Cucumber Slices
Grapes (like 3 because htey were sour and I didn't like them)
Cheese and Lettuce Sandwich on Whole wheat bread
Chicken/potato/corn/brownie Swanson TV dinner
LOTS OF WATER It's super warm and sunny out today, makes me want to drink water!
Haven't gone on my big walk yet, but it's in the plans,...no worries there.
School:
Had to sit through 4 awful seminars today, the one I was looking forward to "surviving the occasional day" about supply teaching was a girl listing things to bring with you...Not fun games or tips but :
Pencil
Pen
Markers
Stickers
Lunch
Snacks
Water bottle
OMG! It was awful, I wanted to throw things at her! AND the one about computers or websites didn't make any sense and I was just super confused...BUT now it's the weekend, and it's supposed to go up to 21! So woohoo!
~nic~
AND: I have my scale being brough to me on Saturday, so fingers crossed!!!
