When I first started I lost 9lbs one week and 6lbs the next, but after that it slowed A LOT (to about 2-3lbs a week as long as I really stick to my diet). So I wouldnt expect to keep up this rate of loss, but don't let that discourage you. I like to think of what 2 or 3 pounds of lard looks like -its a lot and then realize that that gross amount is off my body each week i lose 2-3lbs.

A "Big" Night Planned.

Thursday! April 26 2007 4:47PM

Today has been great. Successful doctors appointment, great, feel good work out session, Peeing a lot. Great energy level. I have had a bowl of Bran Cereal and Thinsations...I've ran 1.34 Miles and did some ab and butt/thigh exercises...arms too. About to have dinner. Some Chicken Strips and a Cesar Salad. I am not much of a big eater and I don't have an eating disorder at all. I just eat decent stuff when I do eat....I'm hardly ever hungry.

I want to go for a nice long walk with my dog tonight. He's getting old so I'm not getting much exercise but any movement is positive change.

I could care less about count calories and carbs because if I did people would be concerned. I think maybe I've had...500 calories and 56g of carbs. I'm serious when I say that I am fine. I'm not faint or dizzy...I have a huge energy meter and I don't "crash". I sleep regularly and I drink about 10 500ml bottles of water a day. I pee at least 6-7 times a day and I make sure I have a high fiber diet to keep my digestion on track. I don't get the runs and I don't cramp up. Everything seems to be moving through me and I believe that this is a key to this large amount of weight loss. I know that water weight is big factor but I am trying. I eat when I need to. I exercise daily. I'm motivated. I don't believe that I am doing much harm to my body. If I'm doing anything I'm detoxifying my body and making it work properly.

I appreciate everyones concerns. I'll keep you posted if anything changes.

Hi Jess and welcome!! Congrats to you for what you've accomplished so far. This is a journey.. hard to get started but very much worth the while. Once you get yourself into a daily routine, you'll find it a lot easier to get motivated to hit the treadmill and exercise.

What has worked for my wife and I is we really hit the portion control button. Personally, I could eat the side of a barn if it was on my plate. I can definitely relate to the Italian food as well.. my total weakness. Keep track of how many calories you take in each day and try to choose a number and stay close to that or under. Sodium is another factor that hinders weight loss and definitely drink plenty of water.. nature's way of flushing your system.

Here's another idea.. Take some pictures of yourself now and then take more in about a month and you will be able to see the difference. Huge way to continue your self-motivation. Plus, take measurements as well!

Well, best of luck to you! There are many wise and supportive people on this site. Best damn Bulletin Board I've ever been on!

Take care!

Bruce

Doubt your doubts and Believe your beliefs

Friday April 27 2007 10:20 pm

I've done a lot today, I've very tired. Worked 8 beautiful hours at the lab and now I'm back home. I didn't get any treadmill time today...I'm over it tho. Tomorrow I will do a run before my shower. Maybe put in an extra 5 minutes.
I'm so happy. I love looking in the mirror....everything isn't as saggy. It's great.

What did I eat today? Bran Cereal...2 pieces of pork tenderloin and a bunch of steamed veggies. Didn't eat lunch as I woke up around 11AM and considered lunch and breakfast as the same meal. I'm never hungry. Drinkin' lots of water tho. I think my actual stomach has shrunk. It doesn't want food lol.

Baby shower tomorrow. Going to be fun. I have to get up way to early for a Saturday (ugh!) There is an interesting boy in my life now. We've known each other for ages but...I guess the timing is right or something. We're both looking for the same things. Something that we can enjoy but we're okay with it being over. It's not a no strings deal, it's more like a fling that will soon end with no bitterness. Maybe missing each other...but thats it. I love when relationships are like that. Commitment...sucks. Right now it does anyway.

Oh well. Can't wait till my next weigh in. They always put me in such a good mood.

I've subscribed to these special weight loss secret emails and they're actually quite interesting and informative things...
Not to paraphrase or quote cause I'm not about to plagiarize. But I am going to put it into my down words and let you people in on an interesting little secret.

WATER

Most people drink there water at room temperature or a little cooler. Try to keep in mind that if you drink ice water it will apparently help you speed up your metabolism. I have always drank my at room temperature but I have been drinking it colder lately. I don't like when my teeth get cold. They're sensitive.

I don't know if this is bogus or not. I might care tho...it's just water.

Why can't I ever fall asleep?

Ah, I have such a hard time getting in 8 hours of sleep! Usually it's around 4-6, I hate sleeping at night. I don't get any more hungry than usual either, which sounds like you too.

Sometimes you just have to sit back and say "what an "effing" day".

Saturday April 28 2007 11:04PM

Everything went well today. I am very happy. What fun it can actually be. Work was so so. My co-worker was ill so I was left to close with no releif (as posted before Water = Urine..) and I am now very tired and I just want to go to bed.

I was posting early this morning around 1-3 AM. After I got off of the computer, finally.... I went to shut my window. When I shut it and turned a FROG jumped across the floor. I had made the big mistake of keeping the screen off when I'm smoking and the darn frog had jumped in. I tried to catch him and I finally trapped him (being as courageous as possible [I hate frogs]) and ran upstairs to get someone to "fix the situation" I try and wake up my hero (dad, always there to recuse me lol) and the conversation goes as follows:

"Dad....Dad...."
"*stretches around* huh?"
"Dad, I need your help a frog jumped on through my window"
"hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"
"Dad I need you to help me get it"
"Just close it and wait till tomorrow"
"What if it jumps on my bed and in my mouth when I'm sleeping...DAD I CAN'T SLEEP DOWN THERE NOW!"
"Why, you're not sleeping in the window....how would it get in your mouth?"
"What? What?....What do you mean?"
"The Puke...."

MOM WAKES UP

"Dad....what puke?"
"The puke, why did you puke in the window anyway....?"
"I didn't puke in the window....!"

AT THIS POINT WE'RE ALL TALKING NORMALLY CAUSE EVERYONE IS AWAKE

"Dad, NO! I said there is a frog in my room....it jumped through my window"
"So? Catch it?"
"DAD!!!! I can't...that's why you're going to help me. I've trapped him...we just need to get him back to the window and outside"
"Well, I don't want to"

MOM: "Jessica.....go FU**ING catch it or find someone else....WE don't care"

"You guys suck!.... I'll see you in the morning"

I spend the night on the couch...I made my brother catch it this morning.
Oh speaking of this morning. I definitely had to wake up at 8 AM. MY LIFE IS SO FAST PACED. Today seriously feels like I was hit with an axe. 10 times maybe???

I had cake....ended up throwing all of the icing out...looked nice...too SWEET. It's actually funny considering I would have been all over that icing like....something crazy.
However...I almost gagged.

Lots of veggies....Water...
Oh and Cheese' I love cheese!

I guess that's all. For now anyway.

P.S. The Frog was still under the clothes I had trapped him in.
I am impressed.
