Rep Power: 0 | | | Stacey's Diary My weightloss journey has been just that, a journey. All my life i have been overweight but it wasnt until highschool that i really started gaining weight. My freshman year i was diagnosed with a heart disease and it became my crutch. i felt like i couldnt do anything because it would hurt my heart but in the end it became my excuse. I knew that exercising would help it but did i care...no. So after i graduated highschool i had hit my highest weight at 230lbs. i decided enough was enough and started walking everyday. eventually i got down to 190. i maintained that weightloss until last summer when i had a flair up on my heart I had to have surgery. the surgery worked and during my recovery i started putting the weight back on. This past January i joined a gym with my mother, it was nice to work out with a buddy, we started going once a week, then it became every other day and now its everyday. We also paid for a trainer and i have to say that i love it. He is awesome and knows his stuff. so far i have lost 5% body fat and 6 inches but the weight stays at 210. I can see some changes but not enough maybe one day i will post pictures but anyways this is my journey from 210 until fit!

My problem is when i'm bored i eat. i need to find a new cure for my boredom. any ideas?? But i did make it to the gym, i go everyday. Today at the gym i did 30 minutes cardio and 45 minutes free weights. tomorrow is a new day and it will be a better day. wish me luck

Rep Power: 30 | | Hey you! Just wanted to see how you are doing in the WOMAN challenge? Encourage you to not feel bad about falling off the wagon. We ALL do it now & then. What matters is that you realize what you need to do to be happy with yourself & you can't change the past but you can change the decisions that you make in the future. Hang in there.
I'm a firm believer in that I will always eat the "bad stuff", maybe just not as often or as much as I once did. Plus I have to make exercise just as much a habit as eating.
Hope all is going well today. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Thank you! I've been doing great with the woman challenge i appreciate the support. I set my daily goal for two hours and i've met my goal. today it will be more since i went for an extra walk which was an hour long and now i'm off the the gym for two hours.
but on a side note i have still not be able to overcome my binge eating. i think my depression is getting the best of me. Since i'm out of school for the summer i have time to sit and think and the more i think the more i beat myself up and the more i want to eat. I need to find ways to avoid that. grr. but i will overcome this! wish me luck! |

Rep Power: 30 | | I'm struggling with depression too. Gotta hate that food releases the endorphins that makes us feel better....yet add calories too! Argh. Good time to find a hobby.
I took up sewing bags, quilts & whatever else I could make & trying lots of crafts from the craft store. Even made some soap & candles. Anything to keep my hands busy & off the junk food.
Summer seems like a great time to explore what you like to do.
Congrats on all that time! Wow. I went the steps route & am struggling to get in the 5,000 per day I committed to. It will happen. If it were easy it wouldn't be a challenge right? Just stinks when I could have done this easy before I messed up my back. Ah well life goes on... & hopefully to find us thinner & feeling fine! |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Thats a very young age to be diagnosed with heart disease. I hope everything went ok.
I wish you the best of luck, also you may want to try getting some more healthy snacks available to eat, so if you get that temptation, atleast you can grab a nice juicy orange or whatever floats your boat instead of that boring poptart. Hope that helps
Excellent ideas Moon, taking up some hobbies would be a huge help. Personally, I webdesign and market for a few extra dollars too which doesn't hurt. |

Good luck with your goals Moon i'm sure you will make it! Thank you again to both of you for your support. |

Rep Power: 11 | | Sounds like you've had a bit of a rough go. That is early to be diagnosed with a heart disease. I hope you are doing well.
I've often felt that food is the enemy. For quick snacks I like soy nuts. They are high in protien, so they fill you up, yet are low in fat. But they are quite boring! I don't care for honey, but I'm sure they probably make less boring honey roasted ones. If you have sodium restrictions, I'm sure they have unsalted soy nuts, too. Another snack we keep around is licorice. It's convenient and doesn't get stale if you leave the bag open . My husband hates when I do that!
Nice to meet you,

I understand how tough binge eating can be.. Trust me, I've spent some days just eating and eating anything and everything that was in the fridge. The last two days, I kept myself on a good diet, except when it came to dinner, where I ate so much, and ruined a whole day's worth of eating with discipline. Just remmeber that you can undo days of hard work with even the smallest junk food. Keep yourself distracted, go outside, hang out with friends.. the times you feel the most temptations are when you're at home...alone.. with nothing to do but eat...
Good luck on your journey. |

SO its been awhile since i last updated because bellsouth sucks and we had internet issues. but i have been doing good! i lost 5 lbs but that was after gaining 2 blah. so basicaly i lost what i gained and now back at square one. but i did lose another inch off my waist and half inch of my hips. once i get my measurements from my trainer i will post the exact inches. My eating has been better i had to go back to doing slimfast in the morning and a salad for lunch. I found that the slimfast was the best thing for me to do in the morning since i like to skip breakfast. I need to start making a food diary so i know exactly what i ate and when and all that fun stuff. I think i might start that today before i go to work. Hope all is well with everyone. have a great day!
