Congrats on your new job Cinderelly!

My avatar was either that or a picture of marbles with the saying I've lost my marbles. I figured it was about time I got to getting up an avatar!

Mornings have never been my forte. My dad works swing shift, my mom works third, my sister works third (12 hours 6p to 6a four days on four days off). I think I'm genetically programed to like staying up late and sleeping all day. We have a bunch of third shifters with my cousins as well. Certainly must be genetic to not want to get up early!

Sun, I'm jealous of the noon wakeup! I'd do that every day if I could. Then stay up all night (probably online ).

Today... long day. Worked today so up at 5 to lift my weights. Went to work and wondered why I was there (on call, so I'm only supposed to be there if they are short on a shift). They weren't short. Stayed all day anyway. Just got home and I'm tired! Probably because I slept in yesterday then couldn't fall asleep last night. Lunch was nonexistant, so I'm about to put in some easy mac and green beans. Had my bag of peanuts during my "lunch break" (at 9 am). I don't know how people can eat lunch at 9 am. I'm definitely not hungry at 9 am.

Thanks . Getting up that early is HARD! Even harder than a hundred push ups! (though I still can't do a hundred push ups, maybe someday).

On the weights front, I finally got some adjustable weights (donated from a friend on a year basis since she's going overseas). They go individually up to 40 lbs, or together 20 each.

On the weight front, I am still going slow and steady. I think maybe though even though I'm going slow, I'm still going to fast. I think I need to increase my calories. I don't feel I should loose a pound two weeks in a row. I'm thinking two pounds every three to four weeks. With going back to work, I know I've not been eating what I should be either though. My lunch is very late (nearly three yesterday) so then I didn't feel hungry at supper and barely ate then. Today and tomorrow I have class. Today lunch was a protien bar, pretzels, and a cheese stick. I am hungry now and there is pizza and garlic bread in the oven. Then I'll have a snack in a couple hours and hopefully have a better day with food. I have my frozen banana supply replenished .

I also did not DDR or do any cardio yesterday. With the calories I had yesterday, that's probably a good thing. My friend who is leaving soon for overseas came over and we watched a couple movies. We watched House of Wax after the kids I babysit went to bed. It wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it was going to be. And we watched Stomp the Yard while the kids were all playing before bed.

The garlic bread smells so good! And I still want peanut butter cookies!

Girl Scout cooies and Bread both cause me to !

I was in a rush this morning and was unable to get my cereal. So I grabbed a granola bar and two cans of light lemonade (cant stand the regular stuff, it's too sweet).

Midmorning snack- cheese stick and a diet coke

Lunch- ordered pizza as a class. Had three medium sized squares and a regular coke.

Late afternoon snack- coffee cup of doritos (dont drink coffee and had to find some use for the coffee cups that came in my set). and a bottle of water

Supper- steamed rice with lemon pepper seasoning, chicken flavored tofu, and mixed veggies. Very yummy! With another diet coke.

Today I'm drinking a ton of soda. I had class today and the closest thing is the soda machine or I wouldn't have had the two earlier today. Usually during the day it's always water or lemonade and nearly always with supper it's diet coke or orange juice. My husband only gets paid once a month and we're out of orange juice.

For the rest of the day, I still need some fruit. I think in a bit I'll do some cardio and then have a banana or an apple or maybe both .

I didn't do any lifting at all this morning. I was so tired and kept hitting snooze. I was lurking here till way to late last night!

Make today great!

Debster63 is a glorious beacon of light
Hello

Hi, Michelle,

Just wanted to drop in and say thanks for the kind words on my diary. I never had tofu, does it really taste like chicken....really?

I have not bought girl scout cookies in quite a while. I devour the entire box. If I buy any in the future (need to suppport the girl scouts right?) I will bring them into work adn not leave them here.

So you like to use DDR, I used to use it a lot but haven't recently. Not sure why just don't.

How did you start using weights? I want to start but not sure what to do. I have a bench and free weights. It has turned into a clothes rack

Congrats on getting up at 5 to do the weights..I am impressed. You are an inspiration

have a good evening
Debbie

Debbie,

Tofu does not taste like chicken. It tastes like chicken flavored tortilla shells. Or like really thick bread flavored like chicken. It is good, and has a chicken flavor. But it is much drier than chicken (at least how my hubby cooks it, but then, his chicken is a bit dry, too).

I do love DDR but the songs get a bit repetitive. I just picked up a belly dancing video from a rummage sale and just got done with it! I'm still sweating. About to hit the shower pretty soon before I stink up my whole house!

The weights... I just tried to list everything I could do with them. My current list is all with handheld weights. I have an incline bench that can go horizontal. There's no place to put a rack for the barbell type weights.
5 lb weights
Lateral raises in standing
8 lb weights
forward raises in standing
tricep extension in standing
15 lb weights
bicep curl palm up
bicep curl to opposite shoulder
hammer curl
shoulder press laying on my
chest fly laying on my back
chest fly laying on my stomach (much harder than on my back and can't do nearly as many)
tricep extension on my back from opposite shoulder straight into the air
Row, curl, shoulder press combo in standing
20 lb weights in each hand
bent over rows
dead lift
chest press while standing (or some days sitting if I'm really lazy).
No weights
Push ups (on my knees)

Once I can do 12 reps without feeling like my muscle is going to die, then I up to the next weight. I started with two pounds on my front and lateral raises! Those are TOUGH!!! And I only lift to shoulder height on them.

The list takes me about 15 min. If I have extra time or get it done quickly, I go through it a second time.

I could definitely do more for the chest press and dead lift, but don't have weights to go higher. Since the dead lift isn't necessarily great for my back, I'm not too worried about not increasing the weight. And the chest press, I always add in push ups so I dont want to buy heavier weights because those are the only two things I'd need them for and both can be compensated for in other ways.

Once I need heavier weights for everything, I suppose I'll have to give in and join a gym.

I also have a pull up bar and used to be able to do three pull ups in a row. Now I can do half a pull up (or a full one if I jump up just a tad ). I try not to cheat though!

Deb, my elliptical was my clothes rack till it broke! I have no idea how it broke because we never used it...

Cinderelly, see I should be in bed now already, and here I am! This place is addictive!

Usagi, thanks for stopping by. I hope you are doing well .

I didn't update my evening snack. Applesause and a mini milkyway. My daughter gave me a pack of them for Mothers Day and I've managed to have no more than two per day! And after dinner there were two glasses of water squeezed in. Definitely needed them with the new video. About to grab a third.

Thank you coolmixedhoney for the support here .

Today... Macaroni and pineapple for lunch. Applesauce for a snack later in the aft.
Chips when I got home from shopping with my mom and sister because there was no time for supper. We left to go see Pirates right away! And it was GREAT! Supper was movie theatre popcorn, coke, and twizzlers. Feeling guilty right now for not having any protien today and I have a bit of a headache.

My next post will be pirates spoilers. Warning you in advance here .

Pirates of the Caribbean spoilers. Don't read if you dont want to know!

highlight to read easier

The movie started off of course with the rescue of Jack. He was dead and in another world. It was quite funny with his hallucinations . They were throughout the movie as well. Very entertaining.

Will Turner betrays all the pirates in exchange for the black pearl so he can rescue his father and save him from the clutches of Davy Jones. However, he is then betrayed by the short guy who's name I cant remember and is not given the black pearl. Fight ensues and the black pearl is reclaimed by the pirates.

Elizabeth was traded and given to another captain. He is killed by some stray wood after a cannon ball blast. He makes her captian.

Eventually she is voted king of the pirates. Dont ask . There was a vote of the nine captains. They all voted for themselves except Jack. He voted for elizabeth. They needed a king in order to go to war together.

Jack is traded for Will. Will goes back with barbosa and elizabeth. Jack goes to the flying dutchman.

Fight again ensues. Will asks Elizabeth to marry him. They get married in the middle of the fight. They were married by captain barbosa. Very well might be one of the best parts of the entire movie.

Jack gets the heart after a battle with Davy. Will and elizabeth join this fight by swinging over to the dutchman on ropes. Will is stabbed through the heart by davy. Jack gives up the heart of davy to will so that will may live on. Jack pulls elizabeth away from will and they return to the pearl.

Fight again ensues. and then there is the end . Everything is peaceful in the end with the royal army retreating. Will goes to dry land and elizabeth meets him there. She is unable to go with him on the dutchman.

When will returns to the dutchman, his father asks him what his duty is. Will tells him he's free. Father chooses to stay on the dutchman with will saying he still owes a debt. Will tells father to take the helm. Touching scene because we don't know if the father is mentally with it enough to know that his son is his son. (attempted to kill him earlier in the movie in a fight scene and would not see that will was his son. Earlier also speaks with elizabeth and it is obvious then that he is having some memory issues).

Very good movie!

Talking Pirates, Diets....Life!!!

Hi Notme!!

Thanks for posting in my journal. I reply to you so... read it again. I'm reading your journal. I'm proud of your accomplishments and the way you overcome anorexia. I'm glad for you since it is a very dangerous illness. I know you will find a better and healthier way of loosing weight. We are all in the same boat.

About Pirates... my son is a huge fan of Pirates of the Caribbean. He haves David Jones and Jack Sparrows Lego ships. They are huge. He just plays with that all the time. He also have the costumes so he is more or less a little pirate. Even his birthday was all about the pirates theme. He saw the movie yesterday while I was in the gym. I didn't want to miss the sweat class. I almost start crying at the middle of the class but I force myself a little bit and finished it. After the class I felt so good. I hope my resistance improves in the next weeks. I felt so fat yesterday!!! I am 30 and I felt like a 70 year old woman. I hate that. I don't want to give up and I will not. Thanks for your thoughts and for sharing your experiences.
