I about fell out of my chair laughing, Mal. Thanks! I needed some cheering up today. I'll be sure to tell that one to the boyfriend. I'm sure he'll appreciate it...

And yes, I'm certainly old enough for that. (25 this year)

I'm still laughing...

I'll be 25 this fall, so I've got a few months to go.
Seems like just yesterday I was 17....

Doing anything special for your birthday?

Museum hopping for the day and going out to a really excellent seafood place over the Puget Sound here in Seattle. Should be fun. I was thinking I'd just play downtown all day with a couple friends. I've got a VIP pass to a couple art museums here, so I think I'll use them for the occasion.

With any luck, I'll be pampering myself with some new clothes in a much smaller size!

I'm so sleepy right now... so very sleepy..

I was supposed to go to the gym today. I ran out of time and energy. Instead my time was consumed by gardening and trying to plant flowers in what felt like rock. It took three hours of effort to dig sizable holes for three plants in the front yard. I don't think I've ever unearthed so much clay and so many large stones in one gardening expedition. The soil in the front yard is so terrible, but I only rent this place so I'm not about to overhaul the lawn.

If the new plants make it through the day tomorrow, I think they'll be just fine.

*pray*

Dinner was good tonight. I made homemade pizzas from scratch. I forgot how much of a workout kneading 7-8lbs of dough can be. My arms hurt and now I'm tired (and feeling whiney). Lol... My kitty is whining. I'm going to go whine back at him and see what happens.

Thanks guys and gals! The plants are doing well so far. I planted some standard african daisies (so pretty!) and another plant with beautiful pink flowers... but I'm not entirely sure what it is.

This past weekend turned out to be absolutely full of yard work to be done. I discovered that the blackberries were starting to infiltrate some of my bushes clear on the other side of the yard. So I decided it was time to wage war against the thorny mass and cut it back to a livable size (about a 25'w x 13'd plot). By the time I was done trimming the bushes and trees, mowing the lawn, spreading grass clippings into my compost/mulch pile, cleaning bird feeders, sweeping the deck and lower landing, pulling weeds, and raking extra grass off the lawn, I discovered Sunday was over and I was exhausted. I'm looking forward to the blackberries!

Yesterday I rested and didn't do much. Today, I go to the gym (because I was supposed to go yesterday).

Thanks cinderelly, I'm trying to revamp my life, one healthy habit at a time.

I seem stuck at 186... I was hoping to see 183 this week but I really don't think its going to happen now.

Breakfast Today:

2 cups plain cheerios
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
3/4 cup 2% milk

Total: 350 Calories, 7 grams fat, 65 carbs, 13 protein

I finished my day under 1500 calories. I feel pretty good about that. This past weekend was tough on food intake (ate out twice at favorite restaurants).

Lunch was a chicken deli meat sandwich on whole wheat sourdough with lettuce and spicy horseradish mustard. I followed it up with a few baby carrots just because I was still hungry.

After lunch snack: half of a Larabar

Dinner was a veggie stirfry (more stirring, less frying) with all kinds of yummy stuff. I sizzled it in a tomato-curry sauce and added in some delicious spiced and sweetened ginger paste. I didn't expect it to taste so wonderful, but I cleared my bowl before the stove even finished cooling down.

For a late night snack, I had half a cup of low fat cottage cheese.

Not too bad. I need to get back into better control of what I'm eating and really tally up those calories.

I weighed 186 this morning... this 186 number is rather disconcerting. What happened to 185? I know its not about the number on the scale... but its not like my clothes are fitting better either.
