Jootsie's Journey

Hi Everyone,

I started my weightloss journey a few days ago after reading the Biggest Loser Book.

I took my measurements and weight and wrote it down this time. I have tried to diet so many times in the past and am having a hard time getting it to "stick"....

So I got out the measuring spoons/the scale and thought I needed to keep a food journal and also journal my thoughts/feelings etc as I go through this. Maybe this time it will not end after a few days...

So, I am eating better and also I walked 3 times this week and swam laps today.

I am excited to be here and am excited to read some of your posts.....

I am not going to make long term goals right now...my only goal is to make it through today eating healthier than I did yesterday......

Talk soon

Joots

What I ate today

3 egg whites with 1/4 cup mushrooms
1 slice whole wheat whole grain bread
put in some basil and spray olive oil

1/2 cup strawberries...with just a dab of lite cool whip

romaine lettuce
1/2 cup brown rice
1/2 cup tuna/salmon mixture that i made for dinner last night

Then I took 2 TBSP of lite done right raspberry vin salad dresseng and mixed it with a tbsp of raspberry vinnegar that had 0 fat/0 carbs..10 cal per serv and put it over the greens

dinner
1 cup turkey breast that i had let roast in the crock pot
1 cup tabbouleh (crushed wheat)
1/2 cup green beans
handful of almonds

argh..then my husband brought home white castle burgers and i had ONE...argh

I have had about 48 ounces of water today...with some lemon wedges

I think I need to keep track of calories..but i am too lazy tonight to start looking. With all the new fad diets out there, I still am thinking that count calories is the best and thats what the biggest loser says. Calories in/calories out. It says for my weight I should have 1243 calories a day to lose weight.

Okay I need fast breakfast ideas....I really dont like eggs and I am always late in the morning. I was big on yogurt and fruit but i am sick of that.

I've resorted to keeping a bunch of hard boiled eggs in the fridge and eating those with fruit and/or veggies in the morning. Some other options are: oatmeal, a healthy cold cereal, and granola... That's all I can think of now because as you can tell from my hard boiled eggs (I don't even really like eggs) and fruit I havn't been able to figure out anything too creative.

Great job with your food today. Don't get discouraged because you had one white castle burger... you were able to only have one

Have a good night

Night time munching is the worst...I had 2 handfuls of gold fish after i posted last night....they were just there. I havent grocery shopped for this change so I gues if I would have had something crunchy around i would have been better. I am a "texture" type eater. I love creamy and crunchy..when I am angry I eat very fast and I also know I like to eat crunchy things when I am mad.

One of my friends told me if you take fat free cottage cheese and put it in the food processor and ad a packet of hidden valley ranch dressing it makes a good dip for veggies....

I have mondays off (woot woot) so today I am going to have to run and grab a few items at the store...

I had a peice of whole wheat toast, about a tsp of peanut butter and 2 peaches for breakfast. I dont eat alot of fruit so i thought maybe i would get in my fruits for breakfast...I am not much into peanut butter normally and i know it can be fattening but i thought if i used it as a protien substitution it might be okay....thoughts on this?..kind of a stick to your rib type protien.

I am going to start reading peeps journals to see how everyone is doing and what is working...

INSPIRATION WOOT WOOT WOOT

Your doing a great job with your food! Keeping all the right foods in the house definitly helps. If the bad food isn't there you can't grab it. Don't be self conscious about looking like a "mom" on the bike... get out there and do the best you can.

Bike riding! Good idea! I went bike riding today. I am going to be 30 in October.. I am sooooooooooooooo slow going up hills.. I had to speed up today going up a hill, or I would have been hit by this jeep that was flying..

It works AWESOME on the leg muscles, trust me!
Blow up those tires and even if you are only able to do twenty minutes around the neighborhood, its a good start!

And those foods you are eating, very healthy ..aren't the triscuits awesome... at night I eat five slices of cheese on top of five triscuits ...or I even do it during the day, which I did today... none left, but will be going grocery shopping tomorrow!

Its good to go day by day. I totally blew up my goals, by adding forty more pounds to lose... now I feel like ...ugh!

But hey I want to reach 250 by next summer and I WILL! and I am sure you can reach whatever goal is floating with in you ...

Best wishes in your journey

always
natalie jo

Okay I have heartburn SOOO bad tonight....i took a prilosec and have chewed a few tums but it is getting worse. I have a small hiatal hernia and up until a few months ago it hadnt bothered me much but due to the stress of losing my daughter in an auto accident I have had so much trouble. I think its time to get it checked out....

Well I ended up having another roast beef sandwich on multigrain lite bread and then i cooked some chicken breasts with a little dijon mustard...and had some chicken as a snack.....oh i had another little pudding and a little fat free milk....so lets see

my total calories are at roughly 1300...for the entire day. a little over my target of 1200....

I didnt get out to ride my bike...I would have had to walk it to the gas station to get it filled up with air (i know that would have been good)...but my heartburn has me all unmotivated.....

I'm very sorry about your daughter. My sincere condolences go to your and your family.

Heartburn could be horrible I had it for months and it seemed like it would never go away. I was on protonix (prescription prilosec) for a few months and it eventually went away. Now I use rolaid softchews when it acts up.

1300 calories is good for one day. Maybe tomorrow you'll bring your bike to the gas station
