P.S. Again, I love this quiz idea!!!!! |

Rep Power: 15 | | It leaves the body as we use them in the production or reuse of ATP, for energy. (I can get into Aceytl-Coa, and the Krebs (or TCA cycle) but it feels unnecessary).
Or in simpler terms, it is dissipated as heat.
edit: I know excess protein is either stored as trigycerides or released in the urine as urea. I am not sure if fat goes through a similar process...i doubt it, I believe it is all stored until we harness it for energy.
edit2: I forgot. Certain lipids are also execreted though sweat gland, for example, to lubricate the hair shaft. I forgot about that

Just wanted to add ATP isn't the only reason behind why bodily lipid oxidation occurs. |

I agree with you, it is not the only reason, but ATP is our main source of energy utilization.
You got other ways to, like CP...and i'm sure many others. I haven't taken biochemistry yet...so i wouldn't be deemed close to an `expert` yet. |

Under normal circumstances protein it self is not released into the urine unless you have a certain medical condition, can't remember the exact name of it though. |

Rep Power: 10 | | What about that special little drug that causes apoptosis of fat cells when applied directly to them? Though if I understand that mechanism correctly, it is still through thermodynamics since supposedly the "dead" fat cells are in the bloodstream and need to be burned. Doesn't really make sense though. Dead fat cells need to be burned? eh, its not really a mainstream thing anyways... which is probably for the best |

Rep Power: 13 | | Wow some excellent answers, and great talk about fat use of energy.
How does fat leave the body?
Well as Trevor and Deep were stating this starts at the bodies need to use fat as energy. I will be honest, it gets real technical and really all you really need to know is this.
There are two methods in which the body removes fat, breathing and peeing. What does this have to do with us, how does that help us knowing that?
Okay well first what do you need in order to pee? Fluid. More importantly water. You can burn up all the fat you want, but you need to flush it out of the system. Water is your king cleanser. The more water you drink when in a deficit, the more of that fat you are going to flush out of the system.
What makes us breath harder? Exercise! The more your breathe, the harder you breathe, the more you burn!
How much water should I drink?
1/2 to 1 gallon a day for women who exercises, 1 to 1 1/2 gallon for men who exercise. How much should I exercise?
Only as much as you need to keep the fat burning. Start off light, try a couple of days a week with the right diet, go from there.
Remember less is more. |

Your kidney's do a fine enough job about being a natural trash disposal. |

Rep Power: 10 | | agreed. it is an insanely dangerous drug. Though people dont generally ingest it, it is applied either topically or intramuscularly. Two different applications, two different results, or so they say. Apparently when the cells are killed, they dump into the bloodstream, and if they arent burned as fuel, they are redeposited. Not sure if that is quite the way it works or not. Also, is it actually true that the body never actually kills or removes fat cells (adipose tissue)? That it only pulls the fatty acids out of the cell and shrinks the cell itself in the process. One of the theories I had read discussed this and theorized that it is the reason why severely overweight people are more likely to gain the weight back. Does the body have a method for removing fat cells entirely? Or must we choose between dealing with it forever or turning to an alterior method? Oh, and i would never, ever, ever recommend any of these drugs to anyone whatsoever. The only things that are even remotely close to a magic pill have such a high chance of death its not even worth thinking about them. But they do bring up some interesting issues, lol | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
