Hajni | Hello, I am doing ok. Finally better but my tom showed up this morning so that really puts a damper on wanting to work out. I am still doing pretty good as far as eating but not sure what my calories are yet as i haven't put them into fitday yet today. I've made it all day so far without drinking a soda although i did grab one out of the fridge it just hasn't gotten opened.
How are you doing? Your both right I can do this and will as long as i have support like this. |

Rep Power: 17 | | | Well todays a new day Haha... Today's a New day. Well so far today sucks. I woke up to tom knocking on my door.. oh the lovely things us women have to deal with each month.. lol Anyways, my food was ok but not great. I skipped breakfast cause I lost track of time plus I wasn't hungry. I was too busy cleaning as we have family coming down from oregon. Anyways, I found some a great saying today that I got from a military support site. Forget the risk & take the fall. If it's meant to be, then it's worth it all.
I truly believe this and think that it will be something of a motivation for me as I am trying to do this for a number of reasons.
Today's food: 7/24/07
Breakfast: none
Snack: 1.25 oz bag of mini oreos 160 cals 7g fat, 25g carbs, and 2g protein
Lunch 1 cup of terriyaki chicken and 1.5 cups of steamed rice
Dinner: 2 packages of instant oatmeal from the quakers weight management.
Snack: 1 quaker rice cake
Water: 48 oz and counting.
No sodas at all today
exercise: 40 min walking away the pounds dvd, crunches 150
Jump rope for 20 min. for cardio

Jump rope for 20 min. for cardio | I'd die if I had to jump ropes for 20 min. You rock girl!!!
I was just looking over your food. I don't see any fruits mentioned .do you eat fruits? I think it is very important part of a balanced diet. Try to eat small amount of fruit with almost every meal. It could be half cup of blueberries or strawberries, or anything for that matter. Sometimes it is hard to get them fresh the next best is frozen. no canned fruits, those tend to be full of un-natural sugar because of the syrup.
The owner of my gym was talking to us about sodas the other day. She said she used to drink them until she could visualize the sugar content. Think about this : 1 teaspoon of sugar is about 4g, 1 soda (12 oz) has average of 40 g sugar. So 1 soda has an average of 10 Teaspoons of sugar!! It helped me to put things into perspective. She said to go home , fill a mug with 12 oz of fluid (juice, water) and start piling the sugar in there until you reach 10 teaspoons, but the time you do this, you won't want to look at soda's again!! of course you don't have to do this , just shared what I heard at the gym.
I know when TOM visits, it is hard to work out or get motivated for that matter. do you have so much bloating too? I gain like 4-5 lbs overnight (it is all water and I lose it after) but boy it messes with my motivation for sure!! Keep on going girl, I will be here cheering for you!!!
Ok, it is enough of me, you know cleaning is a good cardio exercise also!!! Of course I did NOT share that with my husband.

Rep Power: 17 | | I wasn't able to finish doing the 20 minutes on the jump rope. I kept getting tangled in it and it woke my son up so that only lasted about 10 min if that. lol but thanks for the nice words. Yes i do eat fruits but I haven't made it to the store to get more and I ran out of fresh fruit so all we have is whats in the can they are 4oz cans of fruit in light syrup which i drain the syrup out before eating the fruit.
Not really bloating so much as it is the cramping that I have to deal with. I had a m/c last month so the last period I had was in may. So my body is getting back to normal. Its really the motivation to exercise when I'm cramping but I still did my exercises so I still felt good about that.
Ok so far today I am not doing too good on food but I have done a hour so far of cleaning and am going to do my exercises tonight maybe before my family gets here from oregon. I wanna make up for eating bad.. lol
Thanks Hajni for the support and encouragement you will never really know how much it means to me to have the support from people like you and my friends. Since most of my family doesn't know I am trying to lose weight nor can they really give me the same support as most of them live in oregon. |

Hajni | Thanks, Its not something that I personally would wish on anyone. I have had 3 total since I started trying to have kids. The first one I was only 17 though which i talked about in my first post on my diary. I figure it just wasn't meant to be at that time in our lives. At least now I am trying to get healthier so that when i do have a chance to get pregnant again I will be at a healthy weight.
Yes I will have to try to get a pic of hubby when he sees me but not sure how easy that will be as he doesn't like taking pics. I took some before pics of me but they aren't very good pictures I need to see if I can get some better pics or find some of my old pics of me at my heaviest weight. |

Rep Power: 23 | | | The jump rope is a lot harder than it looks! It takes some practice and skill.
I'm very sorry about your m/c.
Great job getting exercise when your cramping... I can barely get out of bed when I am.

| This is exactly my motivation!! I had an ectopic pregnancy in 2004 where I lost my right fallopian tube along with my precious baby. It was a big emotional blow and that is when I started piling on the lbs. So when I got pregnant with my daughter, I was already 20 lbs overweight. And then I gained so much more..
You are a strong woman, you picked yourself up and look at you going. You turned a sad thing into a positive motivation!!! That takes a lot of strenght!!.
Now I am totally convinced that you can do this!!

Hajni | Yep, I think we are pretty in sync with each other on the whole rep thing and posting. I think that's pretty cool.
I'm Sorry about your loss too. I couldn't imagine what that's like losing a tube along with losing a precious baby at the same time. But you know your right we both are very strong women and we can do this. I was probably about 100lbs overweight with my son when I got pregnant with him. I weighed 220 when I got pregnant with him right after I had started working out and trying to lose weight is when i found out i was pregnant with him. my luck... although it was a nice surprise considering we had been trying since we got married in june 2002. |

Rep Power: 17 | | | food diary for 7/25/07 and thoughts Ok well today's food sucked. I spent most of the day cleaning the house from top to bottom so that it would be ready by the time my family from oregon came down. As I didn't want them to see my house a mess. Tomorrow's the funeral for my uncle and I won't be able to attend since alex is still coughing and won't sit still long enough to attend it. I am going to go to the gathering afterwards but that's only if alex isn't sleeping by then.
Ok food for today:
Breakfast: 4 oz peaches
no morning snack
Lunch: chicken/cheese quesadila(sp?) and 2 soft tacos with tons of lettuce
32 oz mug rootbeer
Dinner: 2 tacos and Raspberry dannon fit and light yougart.
snack: handful of cashews
48 oz of water, 1 cup of crystal light flavored water
exercise: 3+ hours of cleaning
hoping I do better tomorrow as I went shopping today and got some grapes, strawberries, carrots and salad and yougart and bananas yummy...
well its time to catch some since its 12:40am and everyone here at the house is sleeping and will probably get up early.
Check in with you all tomorrow and Keep up the good work |

Rep Power: 17 | | | Ugh glad today is over cause it was tough Ok well first off things were pretty tough today so i am glad its over. I am really surprised I ate as good as I did with having to bury my uncle gene today. I wasn't able to attend the funeral services since my son wouldn't sit still long enough for the service but I did attend the family gathering afterwards.
so here's my food diary for today:
well i was able to do a lot better with my eating as I went grocery shopping yesterday.
breakfast: a bowl of cherrios with 1/2 cup whole milk and dannon fit and lite yougart
Lunch: 2 slices of pepperoni pizza
Dinner: 1 piece of chicken breast no skin baked. 1/4 cup rice and 1/4 cup macroni salad. 15 grapes and 5 baby carrots
snack: fit and lite yougart
bad part was only 12 oz water and 1, 12 oz can pespi and 1- 20 oz pepsi
exercise chasing my 3 year old around in the back yard of my uncle gene and aunt ruth. At the gathering after my uncle gene's funeral. Rip uncle gene i love you.
Oh yeah sorry if i didn't respond to anyone who posted in my diary and sorry i didn't post in any of the people diary's that i normally post in. Things were really stressful today and I hope they get back on track tomorrow. Goodnight and keep up the great work everyone. |

Rep Power: 20 | | Heather, I am sorry you had such a stressfull day. To bury a loved one is always a sad and shocking (to me anyway, even if they were old) event.
I know right now everything is crazy and your last thought is to take on more to do but are you still posting everything you eat on Fitday.com ?did you find it an awesome tool as I did for tracking calories? I only needed to do it for a while until I learned the approx. calorie content of food. If you still post would you mind inserting a link here like you did last time. That way we can all look at it and maybe make suggestions for you ?And I loved playing with the ideas : let's say I had 300 extra calories to spare, what food would give me more volume and satisfaction for that calorie amount?
Chasing around your son surely will burn energy!!
Hajni
