As to the heat!!!! OMG! I now know why i live in the north. Onlt got in the low 90s here. Only...90. Is there a mall nearby where you can walk when it's so hot? | Yeah we have been doing alot of talking . hmm that's funny , I haven't thought of what if we run out of things to talk about . Oh yeah leave it to you to already have me on to "other things" already *L* I will for sure keep ya'll posted
It ended up getting to 104 degrees! More poor a/c hasn't shut off all day! I went to pick up my kids from school and I took a granola bar with me for my snack and the damn chocolete chips in it started to melt before I could eat it !
I'm going to skip another night of walking . I feel bad because this is the first time I've missed more than one night a week . I don't really have time to go anywhere like the mall . I've got to go pick up my son from a pool party in just a lil bit . Seems like they have the right idea being in a pool! |

Thanks for the "fantASStic" comments Sheryl! | How true, how true!
So Sheryl, if Paul were to grab your ass, would he get pepper spray, or a swift kick in the nads? Or would you call the police (husband) in? lmbo Actually, knowing Sheryl, she'd probably like it, and call all of her friends and tell them about it..lmbo |

Rep Power: 18 | | Another day and another lb drops off the scale . 304 on the dot this morning. I'm going to start counting the tenths now that my weight measured exactly 304.0 I need to be counting every little bit .
Today I took the kids out to lunch , they wanted to go to IHOP . Oh Great!
Well I had my treat meal for the week , Country fried steak and some dreaded hashbrowns ! Oh yeah I blew it good ! *L* I came home and tried figuring the calories on sparkpeople and I don't think I did as bad as I think I did. Will have a normal dinner tonight and we'll just have to see how the scales react the next few days .
Since it's another scorcher today an it seems I might not be able to continue my walking the way I'd like to when it's so hot , I bought myself a stationary bike today . It's nothing fancy but it should get the job done. Now I just have to go assemble it ! At least this way I can hop on it and peddle on the nights I can't go walk . Something is better than nothing !
Wish me luck , I'm about to go open it up and start putting it together! |

Congrats on losing another pound! It seems to be melting off you these days!! I'm shaking my pom poms (and other things) in my mini skirt.
MMM..IHOP...love their food. Damn that place is expensive, though--you cannot get out of there for under $10-12 per person--for breakfast.
If I'd known you were looking for a stationary bike I'd have sold you mine. It just sits there and collects dust..lol. Actually, I'll probably start using it again when it's -10 degrees and there's a raging blizzard outside..lmbo But it's hard to imagine that when it's been 90+degrees nearly every day this summer. Have fun putting your bike together. Try not to swear too much..haha |

I wanted to stick my head in your journal here and say hello!
HELLO!
How's the stationary bike assembly coming?
What did you get btw?
It took me 15 min the other week just to get the laundry off of mine.
Gosh now I have to make room in the closet for all that stuff!
How are you holding up with the heatwave?
104 yesterday in Athens
I was telling David, I melted my flip flops on the parking lot at Walmart.
Hopefully it will cool down soon, this is ridiculous!
take care Paul and try to stay cool

First off Congrats on the pound!!!
My kids and I like to eat at IHOP too. I always get something called a garden scramble. It's made with egg beaters adn comes with 2 pancakes. It's a huge meal and is pretty good calorie wise. Oh, I usually add a side of bacon (hey, it's whole food).
I was shopping for an exercise bike today. I didn't find anything that I like yet. I looked up the one that I use at the gym - $1500 - no thanks. What bike did you get? Got it put together yet?

I'm too scared to hop on the scales today and see *L* I'll check tomorrow for my monday morning weigh-in . I think everyones bike eventually collects dust *L* I remember my parents having one and it would get moved around the house til it ended up in a corber where it stayed *L* It wasn't that hard to put together really . Maybe 20 minutes total of actual put together time . It took longer but I kept stopping and doing other things .
I forgot to mention I also got one of those garbage bag suits of death ! *L* I will so not be going outside of this house in it though . It is not much of a fashion statement! It does work though, I tried it on and just walking around the house I could tell I was already warming up . After supper I wore it and rode 10 miles on the bike . It does help you work up a good sweat . There is a warning on it though to not wear it very long , just a short time . So I only wore it for 30 minutes . I plan on riding at least 20 miles in it later on unless it doesn't rain then I'll go walk. It's alot cooler here today , only about 90 . WOW it's weird saying it 's alot cooler at 90 *L*

Be careful with those suits and make sure your drinking a ton of water ... we don't need to passing out or getting sick from the suit of death!!!
WTG on that bike... it's really gonna be something great to have around... as long as you don't let it sit there and collect dust |

Sona | Hi Sona! Thanks for stopping by.
Bike assembly went well. I actually just picked up a very inexpensive one at wallyworld. It does have the handle grips that move forward and backward as you peddle though. I'd have had to drive to Macon to get a better grade one anyways or order one so this will do fine for what I want it to.
It's alot cooler here today , it's around 90 right now . It did get up to 103 here yesterday . The day before at 104 was a record I think .
100+ degrees in Athens approaching Sep 1st is not a good thing . Yes I'm meaning UGA football *L* First game is a night game but it'll still be too hot unless we get some drastic weather change in the next few weeks.
You take care too and avoid the flip flop melting parking lots ! *L* |

Luckily for my new eating habits we don't go to IHOP that often. I probably should have had something more sensible but the evil fried foods called to me *L* I'm back to the grind today though. As for the bike , I didn't get anything fancy at all . I went to walmart so what could I expect ? *L* It peddles and keeps track of the time , distance rode, speed & calories burned so I guess if you go by that it's not too basic . It will accomplish what I want it to and that is to keep me moving when I can't go walk. |

Yeah I drank alot of water after I took that thing off . I bet it wouldn't take long to dehydrate yourself with one of those . |

I promise I'll be carefull in my Jr Darth Vader costume ! *L* I honestly don't plan to wear it but to ride the bike and that won't be more than probably 30 minutes at a pop. It does keep your muscles nice and warm while riding . When I took it off though I got cold because of the A/C *L* |

Rep Power: 18 | | | I rode 10 miles with the suit on and 10 miles without it today . I could tell a difference in the amount of sweat I had but I've been reading a few articles and it's probably not doing me any real good. I think I'm going to can the suit-o-death . $6 what do you expect huh *L* | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
