Hi Maleficent.
Yes, I used this one on Free Calorie Counter, Weight Loss Calculator & Weight Loss Tutorial
and got BMR 2,657 RMR 2,357 (calories) for my current weight. I did not factor in the walking I've been doing though.
I've reset my goals of daily intake now to 30% less of 2,657 which is about 1,800 . At least that is what I've read somewhere on this forum was a good reduction % . Now I got to keep a closer eye on the sodium too ? Oh man , I'm just screwed all the way around huh *L* You are probably correct because I don't find myself going to the bathroom as often as I was but I have upped my water intake alot. All I'm drinking is water , no sodas at all and I never drank coffee or tea. I'm open to any suggestions on foods , keep in mind I'm divorced so I'm a batchelor again so I'm not a big cook *L*

Mal is right about the sodium. I was thinking the same thing when I read that. I would limit your frozen dinners to one per day at the most. Also, I would treat yourself to that meal--it might help wake up your metalbolism.
Here's a healthy idea for cooking that isn't that hard to do. Get a bunch of veggies that you like (broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, zucchini, summer squash etc---as many as you want) chop them up, throw them in a frying pan with a tbsp of olive oil, throw in some spices--whatever you like, and take some skinless boneless chicken breasts and toss those in as well. Cook on med heat until chicken is done (i usually throw in chicken first if it's frozen). Also, if you like cilantro, buy some fresh, chop it up and toss in--adds great flavor. This is very low-cal/carb, tastes good, and if you make a big batch of it, you can eat it for several meals. Oh, and if you like it spicy, buy some Indian or Thai curry paste and add that. I love it. You can eat this dish until you're full and not feel guilty b/c it's so low-cal--and extremely nutritious.
Hi bikini ,
Thanks for the suggestions. I got some grilled chicken strips today. Just have to heat them up. Just need to find a tasty combo to make with them. I've always been a meat & potatos kind of guy so therein lies my problems I've made for myself .
I usually would have one lean cuisine a day for supper along with a salad.
Just got through with supper and I'm going to go walk it off!
As you may have read on my post on friday , I was a bit bummed out because the scales had not moved for the week. Well, this morning I hopped on the scales after I got up. I wasn't going to til friday but I was drawn to them like a moth to the flame! I was 308 ! Down 4 lbs . Not 100% sure how . I'm thinking I got rid of some of that water . I had upped my calorie intake too and this might be doing it for me. We'll see how this week goes. I'm pretty pleased this morning though. If anything it's given me some motivation! I want to get into those 200's!

Woo hoo! Congratulations! It's a great feeling, isn't it?
I was feeling bummed about my weight gain this past week, and I stumbled onto this article posted in the Harsh Truth section. There are two or three things in it that I am going to start doing. Here's the link.
I mainly need to go back to the 6 small meals p/day, increased interval training, and upping my calories a bit. Also, I'm working the machines harder at the gym for the weight training.
For some reason that link didn't work when I clicked on it. If you have trouble, too, just go to the harsh truth forum. It's the first sticky thread there.
I clicked the link before I read your second post *L* I'll go check it out.
Thanks ! It does feel good seeing some results. I don't know if I'm ready to try breaking up my meals into multiple meals a day yet. I'm still trying to get a consistant calorie intake going . Today I don't think I ate quite enough . I was trying to avoid the sodium . I've been conciously looking at the amount of sodium in things now. Quite surprised at how much something like lite or fat free salad dressing had in it.
You keep up the great work too!

Joining a gym would be a great way to rev up your metabolism and make the pounds fall off faster. Don't worry about being big--I think you'll find a lot of people there are big, too.
Eating the 6 small meals a day isn't that hard if you do a bit of planning ahead. I use the meals in the Curves book. It is geared for women, so the caloric intake (1600p/day) probably wouldn't be enough for you, but I'd just increase the portions a bit to make up for it. The menus are easy to do, and don't require a lot of cooking. For the protein shakes, I buy the slimfast low-carb shakes.
For example, this was my meal plan for today:
meal 1--1/2 cup strawberries with 1/2 cup cottage cheese
meal 2--protein shake
meal 3--veggie and 6oz grilled chicken salad, 1 serving French onion soup(which I buy in a packet that you just add water to)
meal 4--2 ryecrisp crackers with 1 can tuna (mixed w/a bit of mayo and mustard)
meal 5--4 oz of ground beef, 1 serving of Chinese veggies (simple recipe in back of book), 4oz of V8 juice
meal 6--2oz of deli ham, 1oz of cheese, 1 peach (got lots of those in georgia)
I am totally full from this--no hunger pains. I just have to plan ahead so I have stuff to eat while at work. I think the body for life book has a similar type of meal plan menus. Not sure though--plus you get a cheat day every week which curves doesn't give you.
That doesn't sound too bad there. I actually hadn't thought about those shakes . Those would help me get the calories I need when I'm missing some. I'll have to put that on my list when I go shopping. Thanks for the info Miss BB !

I might REALLY , seriously take tomorrow night off from walking ! We will see!
You're welcome. The low-carb shakes have 190 calories and come in vanilla or chocolate.
Might not be abad idea to take a day off from walking--it will give your body a chance to rest and the next day when you walk again it will surprise it. Got up to 97degrees here today! We have had a really hot summer here and very little rain. I cannot tell you how many 90+degree days we've had since May--about 3times the normal amount. I'd say we've had at least 20. I'm sure that's normal for GA, but not Mich...lol
