Rep Power: 89 | | I'm currently writing a historical novel that partially takes place in Charleston. I'm a Northerner who loves the South. |

Rep Power: 89 | | | Still no change on the scale this am. Bummer, but I'm not totally discouraged. Today is another day, and it just might take a couple to see some results. |

It might take a little time on the scale, but the results show up other places too. [Yeah, I go nuts trying to console myself with that too. hehe]
I'd like to hear a little more about the novel too. I love the South and, well, I love to write. You seem like my kinda person. ;] |

Rep Power: 89 | | Thanks for all the encouragement girls! Been kinda a rough last week with the plateau and all. Glad to know I'm not alone. I've hit this before. Seems about every 10-14lbs I stop losing for a couple of weeks. I'm doing a few new things this week to try and shake up my metabolism.
Today I went for a 3mile walk. Did it in my usual 45min, but did some interval training. I would walk at a normal pace for a few min, then walk as quickly as I could in 92degree heat for a few min. Kept that up the whole 3 miles. I was sweating like a pig by the time I was done...lol and huffing and puffing. So I think I got a good workout today.
I've been eating 6 small meals a day since yesterday, 1600 calories. Hopefully I'll notice something on the scales tomorrow--even just a pound would give me some encouragement..lol
Going to the marriage counsellor again tonight. Got an annoying email from the husband that makes me think I'm ready to call it quits. But who knows...lol |

Rep Power: 89 | | Exercise for this week:
7/30--30min of circuit training
7/31--3mile walk in 45min and 92degree heat (yes, I'm begging for sympathy)
Food today: 2 hard boiled eggs, one low-carb protein shake, 1/2cup strawberries and 1/2cup cottage cheese, 2tbsp organic peanut butter, low- fat chicken/veggie stir fry. Trying to eat meal #5 which is a salad with sliced roast beef, but I'm just not that hungry. Don't think I"m going to get to meal #6 today.
Went to the marriage counsellor tonight. I think it's over. I think I realize this deep down, but it's hard to put an end to a 10yr relationship--no matter how optimistic I am about the future. And I'm looking for a new or additional job. Wish me luck. |

Hi there BB,
I actually read a post of yours to Rena and decided to drop into your journal. First off, you're doing fabulous with your workout and I give you credit for walking in 92 degrees, because I know my bum wouldn't do it! HA! (Don't forget sunscreen, a wide brim hat, and water.. I know.. I'm getting motherly. I'll stop. haha) Your meal plan sound delicious as well.
As for the marriage counselor, I hope things workout the way you want them to. If you start to get stressed over the whole ordeal put all the frustration into working out, whether at the gym or going walking around your neighborhood. Wishing you the best....

Rep Power: 89 | | Sheryl--Thanks for stopping by. I always use sunscreen when I walk during the day--otherwise my big nose turns as red as a tomato! I'm actually not that stressed about the marriage/possible divorce. I haven't lost any sleep over it..lol I guess that might be a bad thing. And after reading about some other people's horrible marital experiences on here, I'm beginning to think I've got it easy with my hubby.
Well--I had awesome news at the weigh in this morning!! Not only did I lose the rest of the 2lbs I gained, but I lost an additional 1/2 pound as well. So that makes for 37 total lbs lost, and I can finally move my ticker--first time since joining. WooHoo!!!! I don't think I've ever been so excited over losing a half pound..lol |

Rep Power: 23 | | Congrats on your 2 pounds plus a half
I used to think that a half pound or a pound wasn't that much until I found the website mypetfat.com. Seeing those globs of one and five pounds of fat really made me appreciate the little bits I lose.
I'm glad your not stressing over your divorce. Maybe not losing sleep over it means its the right thing.
Keep up the great work

Rep Power: 18 | | | Congrats on losing those last lbs and the 1/2 !
As for your pending problems , I'm sorry to hear of your situation. I've been there and done that . Just keep focused on "you" . When I got divorced I was probably down to about 250 lb and doing really good at losing weight. Then my wife drops the bomb on me and leaves me for some other guy (btw she had lost ALOT of weight just before this happened) Anyways my point is that I totally blew what I had accomplished. I've been up and down ever since and it's taken me about 8 years to become re-motivated to start seriously losing again. Just keep up what you are doing throughout any difficulties you might have. Food won't comfort anything (wow ! did I just type those words? I need someone to remind myself of that at a later time *L*)
Good luck and keep your chin up! |

Well, I've been awesome on the food today so far. Did 30 min at the gym and I worked those machines. Woo, was I tired at the end. Then I went to the supermarket to get more low-carb shakes, but they were out. Talk about annoying. So I bought a 4-pack of high protein shakes instead--and they are full of carbs and not as hign in protein as the low-carb ones. grr...
I hate going to that supermarket b/c it's in the small town I grew up in (and currently live in), and I'm always afraid I'll run into a former classmate I haven't seen in years and they will be thinking, "MAn, did she let herself go!" Even though I've lost 37lbs, I still weigh way more than I did in high school. Not to mention that I went there right after my workout, so I was hot and sweaty, and my hair looked awful. I don't think I saw anyone, but who knows--it's been 17yrs since I graduated so I might not recognize someone if I saw them. Maybe they don't recognize me, either..lol Gotta get into shape so I look awesome at my 20th reunion in 3 years. That should be more than enough time--as long as I can keep the weight off once I lose it..lol It is my dearest wish that all the people I hated in high school are fat and bald...lol I'm such a biotch. |

Now that has to be one of the most truthful posts ever! It was awesome! hahahaaaa! I loved it. As for you running into other people, screw em if they judge you. It's really none of their damn business. Besides, you're doing so well with your workouts and your food plan so far.
Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll get to your goal, girl.

Rep Power: 89 | | Paul--thanks for the words of encouragement. I know you know how I feel re the marriage issues. Actually, you might sympathize more with my husband b/c I am sort of the one initiating the potential divorce. I've been pretty unhappy wiht the marriage (most of the 5+ yrs we've been married), but it's just in the last 4months or so that I've really decided that things cannot go on as they have been. Losing the weight is helping to give the confidence that I need to stick to my guns re this. Even though my husband has known that I haven't been happy with things in general, he was quite surprised when I "dropped the bomb" on him that I was going to divorce him unless certain things were changed. Now I'm not sure that I even want to stay married if they are, and I'm not sure if he's even capable of making the changes that I need. Ahhh...what a mess, eh?
Well, I'm pretty much beyond the comfort food issue. I'm so determined about my weight loss that I'm not struggling with it for the first time in my life...amazing. But I will be there to remind you if you need it...lol I think part of the reason that I am so focused is b/c I know that I may very well be back on the proverbial market soon, and my biological clock is ticking very loudly at the moment--want to have 2 kids before the age of 40-I am 35. So I feel like time is of the essence.
Jenna--you crack me up once again. I'm not normally so vindictive, but I suffered in high school from the skinny, pretty popular people calling me fat and teasing me. Yes, I weighed 175 in high school, so I wasn't even fat, only 15-20 above my ideal weight, and I'm 5'9". It kills one's self-esteem, and took me years to get over it--maybe not completely over it now..lol Anyway, I would love nothing more than to see the "popular" kids turn out to be fat, bald (the girls too) and ugly while I was thin and pretty..lol | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
