Rep Power: 89 | | Stacy, you're soo naughty. I like that in a person.
I saw gas for $1.99 here last night. Two months ago I never thought I'd see that price ever again.
And we got SNOW!! Thankfully it has melted--mostly.
HOpe you had a decent weekend and work went as well as it can go when you're stuck in a freezer. |

Rep Power: 35 | | | Just wanted to let everyone know that I may be missing for a few days.
I was told today that my Uncle (mother's brother) was murdered last night.
My Uncle may not have been the best of people but no one deserves to go out of this world in such a way. It breaks my heart to think that he died all alone. He lived his life his way and in the end that is what killed him.
With that being said, I am sure that most of the responsiblity will fall to me and my cousin if I can get ahold of him, as the rest of the fam either has no money or doesn't care. (Shameful I know) My cousin and I are the only ones in the fam who ever made it above the poverty line.
Uncle Rick was an oddball to be sure. It could be said that he related better to animals than he did to humans. Could possibly be because an animal will never judge you for past mistakes and will love you just as you are.
He did serve his country (during peace), and deserves some respect in his burial. I will make sure that he gets it.
He had never been married and had no children. So there is no one else to take care of things except for my mother (who is disabled herself), his other sister who is unemployed and his brother who is also unemployed and who had such a hatred for him I can't imagine that he would do anything for him. Even in death.
By today's standards he would have been considered mentally ill. He was injured while he was in the Army and most if not all his illness' stem back to the injury. Hopefully the United States government will be able to help him. As he was a regular at the VA hosptial and on disability for his injuries.
I pray that he is now at peace. For if anyone deserved it, he sure did. |

Rep Power: 51 | | As always Bella, you are an incredibly caring individual, and my thoughts are with you.
I hope the government can help out some, and I hope this doesn't put too much of a financial strain on you (or emotional for that matter), but I admire you for being the kind of person who will step up to the plate in a situation like this.
Take care! |

Rep Power: 35 | | | Thanks to all who expressed their sympathies.
My Uncle who so hated his brother decided to be a man and step up to the plate so to speak.
As for the circumstances of my Uncle Rick's death it would appear that he was beat up by some 20 year old kid who thought he had been disrespected. He was drunk at the time. The kid that is. They are not sure that the kid actually "killed" him. If the beating is what killed him. Since U.R. had some health issues to start with. Apparently it was not intentional. Just a stupid kid making a stupid decision. One that could effect the rest of his life. What a waste.
So anyhow as you can imagine my eating habits were not of the best quality this past week. But now that things have started to calm back down I am ready to get back at it.
Did get a response from the adoption counselor about my birthdaughter. It seems she had a letter waiting for me in her file that she wrote a few years ago. So I should be recieving that in a few days. As well as her birthmom was very excited to hear that I had dropped off a letter for them. I would assume that they have it by now.
So that is all there is for now.

Rep Power: 104 | | That breaks my heart I am so, so sorry. I'm starting to hate drunk people (well, unless they're lovable sweethearts when drunk, and normal otherwise). Please take care!!
That's really awesome news about your birthdaughter--if you feel like sharing about what happens, by all means! |

Rep Power: 43 | | | Oh how exciting about your birthdaughter! My hubby reunited with his birth mother a few years back, she's AWESOME!! his adopted parents are sweethearts too, he's really lucky to have them all now and he couldn't be happier. I don't know if you've ever seen that new show called "The Locator" I think the guy that does it is Troy Dunn, he rocks, the show is awesome and I cry everytime I watch it. I'm sooooo soooo excited to hear all about what happens. My aunt also reunited with her birthdaughter a few years back, that was a awesome union as well, they look like twins for peat sake, it's unreal. Now she has a granddaughter too, it's awesome!! GOOD LUCK!!
Have a great day!
