Seems like as summer has hit my days have gotten even busier than ever.
Things are going well. Have gained about 6-8 pounds back.....oh well.....I am not to over worried about it. I know that it will all come back off when I put my mind back to it again.
Hope everyone is having a great summer.
Hopefully I will have some time next week to jump on here and catch up with everyone.
Right now we are getting ready to go camping with the kids.
Soooooooo......
I best be hitting the road!

Hey guys!
Wow it feels like it has been FOREVER since I have been on here. LOL
We have been so busy here that I didn't even get on the computer for like a 2 weeks.
But now that most of the "busy" stuff is over with I think that I will be able to keep up with my diary. hahaha
Which is probably a good thing as the band wagon that I jumped onto back in August of last year must be running on a different parade route right now! LOL I have gained back about 10 pounds I think. I say I think because I really haven't been drinking my water and I do think that there is a small amount of water retention going on. But I am in no way trying to fool myself into believing that it is ALL water retention. I haven't exactly been eating in the best ways.
I have often said to my Hubby that it seems to me that I am only ever able to focus solely on one thing at a time. For the last 8-9 months it was my weight that I put all my focus towards, letting all other things fall to the wayside. Housecleaning, laundry, ect.
Here recently it seems that my focus has shifted to my house and my family. I know that this may seem odd to some people but I have actually kept all my family's laundry caught up now for the past 3 weeks! As well as my house is presentable always.
I am hoping that starting tomorrow I can maintain all the progress I have made on my house as well as get back on that wagon.
I have no intention of going back up anymore poundage!!!!
I did get back to my PowerCore class last Monday after being gone from exercising due to my shoulder "injury" and VBS at church.
Was unable to go to class on Wednesday however as I was packing things up for the camping trip that the Fam was going on, on Thursday.
And truth be told I really was happy to miss that Wednesday class. I was in alot of pain from the Monday class. It hurt to even sneeze or cough! LOL Made me feel like I had just had abdominal surgery! hahaha.
So tomorrow is a new beginning. I will be getting back to class as well as being more diligent again with what I put into my mouth.
I keep thinking about another girl on the forum who gained 10 pounds over Christmas and lost all of it and then some in no time at all.
Like I said now I have no excuses. The busy time is over and I am now aware of where my focus is at. I just need to tweek it a bit.
Hope everyone is having a great week.
Catch ya all later!

Well here it is 11:30am and I have accomplished 1 of the 3 things on my to do list for today.
Went thru and cleaned out the kids closets. Whew!!! That was a job and a half. They had stuff in there that they haven't worn in quite some time. In fact I got 1 whole kitchen sized trash bag full of clothes for each of my kids.
Luckily I know a family that can use all those clothes. They have triplet girls who are just about a size and a half down from my dd and a son who is about the same difference as the girls. It's definately a win-win situation.
Also done good so far this morning on eating.
But that is most likely due to the fact that I need to buy groceries! LOL So there is literally nothing here to eat that would be tempting in any shape or form.
Planning on having a roast for supper with plenty of vegetables on the side as well as a salad.
Well I am off to figure up my grocery list or at least figure out what is all on sale at the store.
Catch ya'll later.

Hi Dawn

I'm sorry that I havent been by in ages. I really have hardly popped by anyone's diary recently - life just seems to have been getting in the way.

I'm sorry that you had all those problems with your shoulder - but it is great that you finally got to the doctor and got pretty much sorted out. A lesson to us all about going to the quack! It really would be great if you could change your job - as it definitely looks like your work exaccerbates stuff like that. Change is never easy - and I know how you always put your family first before everything - but try and find enough "me-time" to look into how you could make changes to get a job that wouldnt give you such problems (and possibly fulfil you more). I think that you once mentioned a fancy for nursing. You are still a young woman. Look into how you could pursue your dreams.

I am not surprised that you have been giving your Fit For Life classes a miss while you had those problems. In all honesty - I have always thought "those classes sound really tough". The problem with aiming for the stars is that it is easy to feel a bit of a failure if you do not quite get there (and so few of us ever can). I would keep giving them a miss until you are really fully recovered. I havent done any aerobics since before Easter. We can only do what we can physically do.

You can still lose weight with the less strenuous exercise - like the walking that I do. Some form of exercise always helps - but you do not have to risk injury. Working in the female fitness room sounds a great opportunity for getting some exercise in.

It is very hard to maintain focus throughout a long term weight loss project. People that only have a little bit to lose can go from start to finish in a single timeframe and not have time to tire of the process or get diverted from the process - but that is not possible if the project is a bit bigger. I can fully understand your need to sort out the house - I would be the same if I had kids like you have. Frankly - my house is the biggest mess on earth. I have spent the past 16 months basically leaving the house for another time. Rod deserves a medal for putting up with it. There is no way that I could sort out the house and stay on track at the same time - so do not be surprised that you are looking at a gain.

I am pleased to hear that you are getting back on track though. You deserve the joy of seeing the resumption of your weightloss. You are right to remember people like the Krinse last Christmas. Tammy and Tyly also gained and lost that gain so quickly it is silly. Your slight gain will be gone before you know it.

Thank you for the lovely bag that you and Kimberly got for me. It is so nice - and the fact that it is reversible allows you to ring the changes. I have just munched my way through the dry kiwi fruit while catching up on your diary. They were yummy (and didnt last long despite my best intentions as I started of having just one or two slices a day). I am really not good at portion control.

It was really sweet of you and Kimberly to think of me when you had your day out together. It would be great if we all lived closer together and could all arrange to meet up regularly - we really are such great forum chums.

I had a day up in central London on Thursday with Kimberly and her husband. Yesterday we were joined by Rod and went to an old house. We ended up going to a pub and were so busy gossiping that we didnt notice the time. By the time we realised the time - the kitchen had closed and we hadnt eaten - and there was a mad dash to get them to the railway station before the last train left. They must have been starving as we certainly were. Rod got a take-away and I made something easy and healthy as soon as we got in. Poor Kimberly must think that I had decided to starve us all into weightloss!!!!

Take care
Love
Margaret

Thanks Margaret and Yarmiah for stopping by.
Margaret
I am so glad that you really like the bag. It is such a hard thing to pick something out for someone that you haven't actually ever met! Though it does feel like I have known you forever. LOL
Aren't those Kiwi slices YUMMY! Your lucky that any of them made it to you at all! haha
Maybe someday I will be able to get across the "big pond" but it likely wouldn't be anytime soon.
Your memory served you correct in that I am looking into nursing. The only drawback at this time is I can't join the Nursing Program this year as I need to get a bunch of Pre-Requisites out of the way. So I won't be able to get into the actual program until the fall of '09.
I am playing with the idea of being a paramedic. School for that is not nearly as long as nursing. So I would be able to get into a job much faster. And possibly still go for the nursing thing at the same time.
We'll see.

Yarmiah
Thanks for popping in on me!
I find it absolutely amazing the amount of clothes that my children have. I am not quite sure where it all comes from 'cuz I am certainly not the one bringing it all home. LOL
At least I know that the people getting it can really use it. Rather than just take it to the Goodwill and never really know if it gets used. That and I will have the opportunity to relive my children wearing some of the items when I see the other kids wearing them.

Well things ended well for me today.
I never did get to the garage. I think I may do that tomorrow. I ended up grocery shopping instead. With the making of the list, looking up sale prices, actual shopping, putting away and then getting dinner in the oven it took nearly 3 hours. UGGG!
I was able to get to class tonight. Hopefully I won't hurt as bad as I did last week. That was awful.
I would love to see a small drop on the scale tomorrow. Anything that would show that today was a good day.
Dinner was yummy.
Pork Tenderloin roast with lots and lots of carrots, potatoes, onions and celery.
Had about 3-4 ounces of roast with a huge heaping pile of the veggies. In fact I ended up eating the rest of them! I really love the way veggies taste when they are roasted.
Also had a salad, 2 small slices of bread with a smidge of sugar free jelly and a bit of butter.
And for a snack later on Dh made us blueberry, strawberry, vanilla yogurt smoothies. YUMMY!!
Add to that 66 ounces of water drank today.
Things have definately gotten off to a good re-start.
Hope everyone else's day was a good one!

Well here it is Wednesday already. Only one more day of my vacation is left. Sigh
I have really enjoyed this vacation. We really didn't do anything besides the camping so I was able to have plenty of "me" time.
Don't get me wrong I enjoy going to places and visiting with family but there is something to be said for just "doing nothing".
Last years vacation was so hectic. What with the plane flights and all the traveling. And anytime you travel with children it is waaaaay more work than it should be.
I started out yesterday really well.
Weighed in at 197.4 putting me at 1.4 pounds lower than the day before. That made me feel really good. Ate well for the 1st part of the day but somewhere in the middle I started to snack and couldn't seem to stop.
I have been reading a really good book lately and don't want to put it down for anything. So I think that instead of sitting and eating a real meal yesterday I ended up snacking here and there while reading.
Also took the kids to the ice cream place where I indulged myself.
All of this lead to me weighing in this morning at 199.8 back up 2.4 pounds.
I know that it is not all weight as I would have had to eaten an astronomical amount of calories yesterday. And even though I did snack alot I did not eat no 8000 calories! LOL
Well today is going better as for the eating and snacking. I also have my PowerCore class tonight.
Did help Dh out last night with some ab exercises. So I did get in a bit of a workout.
Well the kids are hanging all over me so I better get going!
That and I need to get a few things done if I am going to keep up on my house.
Have a great day everyone!

I too enjoy my vacations, but it's hard to find the right mix of fun things to do and having some down time. Also, vacations are great, but I like being in a routine, so anything more than a week can stress me out.

Hey there! Glad you enjoyed your vacation and got a little me time. You certainly deserved a lot more of it, though..lol. I think you would make a great nurse or paramedic. Go for it girl!!

I wish you could've met Margaret with me. We had a really good time. She is so tiny--just shrinking away. I had no trouble at all spotting her the first time. As soon as I saw her, I new it was our dear M.

She IS really lucky to have gotten any kiwi at all, as I had to exert extreme self-control not to eat them all myself. I don't blame her one bit for eating them up quickly..lol. There weren't that many left to give her.

Happy 4th of July!

Hi Dawn

Those kiwi slices were indeed yummy. They all disappeared in a few minutes - so clearly they were a magic trick too!!!

It sounds like you have managed to get some good relaxation time in on your holiday. We all need to make time to do the things that we enjoy.

We all experience little weight gains when the urge to snack takes over. I am terrible for wanting to snack. I am saved if only I can convince myself that I want to snack on something healthy. If I dont manage to do that - then I have a problem. When we snack we can feel guilty about it - which can make us feel worse about the day to day fluctuations that in reality are standard and often water-based (nothing to do with fat). Generally - we are good with our food and consistent with our exercise. This does mean that we get results over the long term - if we just stay focused and keep on doing it.

I thought that it was nursing aspirations that you had. The paramedic idea sounds great too! It must be a great feeling to come home from work knowing that you have helped to save someone's life. If we can feel proud because we lose a few pounds - how proud must something like that make you feel!

After Kimberly's comment on my size - I feel that I should add that I wouldnt say that I am tiny - but I am certainly a lot thinner than I was and getting near where I would like to be. My BMI is "normal" and Weight Watchers would let me settle for my current weight as my goal weight. Having said that - I am heavier than I was when I married and I still cannot get my wedding ring onto my finger (it gets to 1/4 of an inch from where it should go - getting past the knuckle but not going to where it should be). I havent changed my ticker goal weight yet - but may set it at a higher weight depending on how gaunt looking I get or whether I get my ring on. I am regularly reviewing the situation. It was very difficult to set a goal weight when I was big - and I set one for the lowest weight I could remember having ever been (when I was 18) so that I could see the biggest problem that I had.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Hey all!
Wow it sure does feel like forever since I have been on here.
I was gone for the last week and a half with no access what so ever to the net. I was a chaperone for the high school youth goups summer conference.
We were up in Holland, Mi for about 6 days.
It was a blast!
Though the one day that we were able to make it to Lake Michigan for a swim it was chilly and stormy.
I opted out of swimming but got tossed in anyhow by the kids. LOL
Things have been about the same with the weight.
I am finally beginning to feel like summer is going to slow down and once that happens I will be in a much better position as far as getting my eating and exercise habits back into control.
It is rather late here so I am going to log off for now.
I plan to swing by on Monday.
Hopefully I won't be to far behind on everyone's diaries.
Ciao for now.
