I would have totally been freaking out as well, if that would have been me.
Isn't it crazy the way things seem to be going with kids these days?
You gotta wonder what kind of stuff are they going thru in their daily lives that they feel so much angst.
Glad to hear that Corey was okay.
Thanks for continuing to encourage me.
As of this moment all I have done exercise wise is clean the Fitness Center at the YMCA this morning. Which consists of sweeping the track (13 times around is one mile and I usually get it done in like 4 laps), washing/wiping down all the cardio equipment (there's like 15 things in all) as well as cleaning the weight machines and the free weight area. Plus I am a bit anal about the railings thru-out the center. So I wash them down every week. They are so disgusting! All I can say is don't ever touch a railing in a a public place!!!!
That and I found out that we have one of those Swiffer sweepers so I have been actually vaccuuming the weight machine/ free weights areas. In all I do about 1 1/2 hours of cleaning. The rest of the time is spent at the desk or socializing with the members.
Today I actually had a member ask me how to do Walking Lunges. So I got to do a 1/4 lap of those with her.
They frown on us actually working out while we are on the clock. Apparently someone in the past totally blew it for the rest of us.
So as you can see I didn't get a whole lot done. But I did stay busy for quite a while.
I am planning on walking the track out at the hospital tonight. One time around is 2/3rds of a mile. So 3x's around is 3 miles.
Add into that I have eaten very well today as well as the bike ride yesterday and the plan to have Salmon for supper and I think I should see some good results on the scale tomorrow morning. |

The website was telling me that I needed to eat in excess of 3000 cals just to break even for the day! Watch out Micheal Phelps here I come! LOL |
You have GOT to be kidding me! WOW!
I am so impressed with this, you had an awesome bike ride. Go ahead, eat like a piggy today. Heck, if I had done this workout yesterday I wouldn't have had the little pity party that I had for myself.
Well, you have definitely motivated me. I have already been to the gym once today (to make up for missing yesterday), and plan to go back tonight after I get off work. So, now, I will be using you as my inspiration!!
WOOHOO!!! I can't wait to see how your weigh in goes tomorrow! Good luck... |

I love, love , love the bike computer thingy that dh gave me for our anniversary. That thing really kept me moving.
I was determined to keep my mph at or above 11 and that is exactly what I did. There were a few times that it dropped down to the 10 range but that was due to some monster sized hills! LOL
It is rather funny how those hills seem like nothing at all from the vantage point of my drivers seat.
Like I was saying I really like that computer thing. It keeps track of everything.
Speed, Distance, Time of trip, Average Speed.
The fastest I got going was 20.9 mph. But that was due to the fact that I was heading down the backside of one of the afore mentioned monster hills.
And I already said that my average speed was 11mph.

Man I still can't believe that I did it. | Awesome!! I love cycling, it's my second favorite exercise...
You went out and did over 20 miles on your first ride? That is amazing. It usually takes me a few rides to work up to that kind of mileage. Keep it up !! |

I'm so glad the grocery stores I shop at supply lysol wipes next to the buggy's. I wipe off the bar and seat! lmbo!
I want my canvas bags and purse to sit on a clean seat as well.
(I have enough canvas bags now so I don't have to use paper/plastic!)
Yer doin' just great and it sounds like ya have another 'Goal Reachin' Day planned!
Good Job! |

I'm glad that I was able to inspire you.
Your totally inspiring me too! You are so gung-ho right now, just like I was when I first started. And I need to keep reminding myself just how exciting it was when I first started on this journey.
Thanks for keeping me encouraged! |

I know it was kinda crazy! LOL
I didn't really intend to go quite so far. I really only meant to go 16 miles. I know it still sounds like alot, LOL. But trust me I was good until 18 miles............that's when I was seriously contemplating how long it would take me to walk that bike home!!!!! hahahahaha
One thing that happened along the way...........I found that I really, really, really liked being outside riding. I just felt like I could "hear" myself think.
Don't get me wrong, I love my family and all but I almost never get time to myself.
Case in point even as I type this my youngest is trying to show me a lego castle that he built for me. And 2 seconds before that dh was chatting at me. And before that dd was going on about the neighbor's new puppy. All while I am trying to type.
So when I was out there I just felt quiet.
Do you know what I mean? |

Rep Power: 35 | | Well here it is Friday nite and I am home. Yep you read that right. Home, home, home!!!! (For those of you new to the diary I work 2nd shift weekends Fri-Sat-Sun)
I went into work early today hoping to pick up some extra hours. (Again for those of you who don't know I work at a Wal-Mart Distribution Center........in the freezer!!!!)
And when I say early I mean early.
Normally I don't have to be to work until 3:30pm but today they asked me to come in at 10am.
So I got to orderfill for about 3 1/2 hours.
That is straight cardio people! Between all the movement and all the lifting of the 10-40 pound boxes my heart was going the whole time. I was sweating like a pig (yes you can sweat in a feezer! LOL ) and soooooooo hot that I had steam coming off of me.
I guess you could say I was smoking hot!!! hahaha
Anyhow, when I got started on my regular shift I found out there wasn't going to be enough volume to keep everyone there for the whole evening.
I usually don't ever get asked to go home since my job is the absolute last job to be done at the end of the night.
Since the volume wasn't there they needed to cut people outta there to save "the numbers". Don't ask! haha
So anywho I was the most logical person to get rid of. What with the extra hours I already had coming into my shift.
And I am not the type of person to look the gifted horse in the mouth and go "weeeellll I don't know". I took the offer and ran! LOL
So hear I sit. *Sigh*
So I don't really know how I would figure up the "exercise" I did today.
But I definately know that I burned off lots and lots of calories.
Well dh needs to get on the computer.
So I will get on here tomorrow with all the updated stats.
Catch ya'll later. |

Rep Power: 43 | | | Well done!! WELL DONE MY BELL!!!
I'm so excited for you, listening to all your accomplishments in the working out arena, you must be very happy for yourself. If you keep up this kind of working out, you will be back down to 180 in NO TIME FLAT! And yes, any type of cleaning if it's nonstop and you don't sit down for a few hours IS working out in my book. I did that here yesterday ALL day for about 6 hours nonstop, I was a sweaty pig by the time I was finished so I know I burned some calories, even if it was just picking up, vacuuming and walking back and forth from one side of the house to the other, I know it was working. Okay so it's not like working out at the gym for an hour, but it is work. GREAT JOB on the bike riding too, that is so AWESOME!! I know exactly what you mean about quiet time while biking, I love that time as well, it's just time to reflect on nature and it's just about you!!
And about touching stuff at the gym, I don't touch anything if I can help it, and I ALWAYS scrub down my machine after I'm done using it, so it's nice and clean for the next person. But even when I'm running on the elliptical I never touch it, not even when I'm getting off of it, it just grosses me out! LOL LOL to many people hacking on it and sweating without wiping it down, NASTY!! But, it's good to know others feel the same way I do. LOL LOL
Well, hope your weekend is a MARVELOUS one and I hope you get to ride more too. Have a great day!! I'll check on you in a few days!
CHOW BABES!

Rep Power: 89 | | First of all Congrats on the huge bike ride. That is very impressive!
You germaphobes crack me up. Just don't put your fingers in your mouth after touching the gross, nasties, and then wash your hands when finished..lol. I think I would gross you all out, as I touch handrails, etc all the time. However, I'm hardly ever sick. Guess I have a good immune system from all the germs.
Glad to hear the school didn't explode! That would've been very, very bad. |

Do you know what I mean? | Sorry for the cut and paste quotes, but yes I know EXACTLY what you mean!!!!
I dread the winter season when I will be reduced to using stationary equipment. I love the peace, the zen that you find in going outdoors and cycling for a while. A stationary is just not the same (my kids gave me an iPod for father's day though, it should help some).
Keep up the riding! BTW, how does your... err... "saddle" feel after going into a 20+mile ride cold. That's what always gets me. My legs are good, my energy is good, but dammn!!! |

Turns out it wasn't so bad after all. Though at the time I thought I would never make it home. LOL Guess I still got enough "padding" to make it not hurt quite so badly! | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
