Rep Power: 26 | | It sounds like you had a great day and I'm glad you got to spend it with Marcia.
I guess we will just have to have salad when I take you out for your bday? LOL
Oh well, I need it too. I haven't done that bad at all, and yet my weight is back up. Oh well, I'm sure the Wendy's the other day didn't help.
Hey you going on the Ladie's trip on Sat?

Rep Power: 53 | | Hi Bella, glad you had a cool B-day. Only up about a pound from it? I consider it a failure if I don't gain at least 3 - 4 lbs on a day like that HaHa
Ona more serious matter... your friend Marcia sounds like a wonderful person. My wife had a good friend who also was given the "experimental treatments" because there really wasn't anything left to do. It is a tough situation and all you can do is be there for her. I'm not the praying type per se, but that doesn't mean that I can't think on someone and wish some positive energy in their direction. I wish her the best. |

I'm so annoyed with myself for not catching you yesterday. For the week before it I kept telling myself to make sure I got in here on your birthday, and of course I forgot.
I'm glad you had a great birthday, and I hope the latest treatment helps Marcia.
So are we gonna get to see any pics of the new boulder holder--with the boulders in it?? Hey, it's TLD, I can't help myself. |

TTYL! | Hey Girl~
It was really nice to spend my b-day w/ Marcia. It was like getting a present of friendship on my b-day.
Yeah I think maybe I had better stick to a salad!!! LOL
I wouldn't worry about the couple of pounds up. You know that could be just about anything. I doubt you ate 7000 cals worth of Wendy's.
I am going to try to get to the Ladies trip but Gil just left for Colorado so it will be a wait and see. Sarah will be here to watch the kids if I need her to. |

I guess I failed by your b-day standards! Whew!! You set the bar pretty high.
Thanks for the positive thoughts for Marcia. Right now she could use all the help that anyone can give.
And your right the saddest thing about the "experimental stuff" is knowing that if this doesn't work than that is all they really can do. And I think that it is finally starting to sink in to Marcia that she very well may not pull thru this. |

I do the same thing here. Except it usually involves a bill or some kind of maintenance to the car.
Thanks for the well wishes for the B-day as well as for Marcia.
I am hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. I don't want to see her go just yet.
As for the pics of the boulder holder w/ the boulders I think I just might have to pass on that one! LOL
Being oggled by one stranger was enough........Thank You Very Much!!!

Rep Power: 35 | | | Whew........what a night! Real quick 'cuz I am absolutely exhausted .
Had to put my mom into the hospital last night. Turns out she had a pretty severe case of pnuemonia. Bad enough that her O2 saturation level when I took her in was only at 85%!
Prior to my taking her in she called here to the house. Demanding to know why I wouldn't pick up the phone when she was calling. She hadn't called me except for that one time.
Earlier in the day I knew she wasn't feeling well so I made her call her doctor and get an appt. Right now I am a bit honked at the doc as she guessed that mom probably had pnuemonia but never ordered x-rays. And even though mom was obviously NOT feeling well they let her drive herself home!!! They let her go telling her that if she wasn't better in 48 hours that they were going to admit her to the hospital anyway. Stupid if you ask me. Take a woman who is on disability and gets confused on a good day and send her home with 4 different things that must be done if she is to get better and expect her to actually accomplish any of it. Hmmph
They told her to use her nebulizer every 4 hours, take the meds they were prescribing, go to bed and stay in bed and get herself on her O2 at home 24hours a day.
She didn't do any of it. So by the time I even knew that she was as sick as she was it was pretty bad. She was pretty delusional from lack of oxygen. In fact her levels were so low that they put her in the ICU.
Hopefully she won't have to be there to long. But chances are she will. She is a very slow healer.
I gave her the parent/child lecture. With me playing the starring role as parent and her as the child.
Basically she let her pride get in the way of her health. And I told her that that was a stupid thing to do. I asked her what was more important.....her health or her pride. She finally agreed w/ me that her health is more important.
It was obvious that she would need to be in the hospital. But had she gone in earlier in the day she most likely would not have ended up in the ICU.
So with all that going on I have had exactly 20 minutes of sleep in the last 25 1/2 hours.
So as of right now I have no idea what I weigh and I don't really care.
Maybe after I get up from my little sleepy sleep I'll see where I am at. But with the lack of sleep I would have to think that the # will most likely not be a good one.
So this will be Tata for now.
Catch ya'll later. |

Rep Power: 89 | | Well, I know all about having one's mom in the hospital. I hope she gets better soon. It's funny the doc sent her home like that. With my mom it's the opposite--they want to send her to the hospital for every little thing. She's had oxygen issues, too, so they've done several chest xrays over the past couple of months. Hopefully they'll get her back to normal soon.
Try to get some sleep, honey.

Rep Power: 53 | | I feel your pain on dealing with mothers who don't want to listen, despite what their doctors tell them about their real health problems. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, but that is another story.
Wishing you best of luck in dealing with her situation (and any fight you may have with the scale ) Hope you win! |

What's your fav part of the Y?
| Awh man, I love everything about it. I'm a kid in a candy store right now (I've never had a gym membership with as many things to do as the Y) my old gym only had cardio and weight equipment. Not to mention the people are extemely nice. So check this out, our water aerobics instructor stayed an extra 20 minutes after class was over teaching us to float on the water using those noodle things. I thought that was so nice of him...he's full of passion and I love to experience passionate people. |

Rep Power: 35 | | Thanks everyone for stopping in with all the encouragement. I really appreciate it.
It had been one crazy, stressful, tiring week.
Mom is out of the hospital (she was released on Saturday) and doing well. Dh was gone over the weekend so I had to deal with work, a babysitter (who turns out to not be such a good choice, but that is another story), mom and a tub that wouldn't drain! LOL
Needless to say I didn't do so hot. At least over the weekend anyways.
For the most part I think that I am may be up by 3 to 3 1/2 pounds. As Sweetpea and I went out for my b-day last night and my food was slightly salty. And since my wedding ring was a bit tight this morning I have to believe that some of the weight I saw on the scale was just retention.
The next couple of days will show the truth on that one.
Being so utterly exhausted on Monday I never made it to Kellie's class. And today (Wed) my allergies kicked in. Making it nearly impossible to do her class since my head would feel like it was going to explode! LOL
Add into that my shoulder has started to hurt again and you can see that I am just a mess this week.
Though I do think that the stress has a lot to do with the shoulder. Tight muscles and all.
As Scarlett O' Hara would say "Tomorrow is another day."
So tomorrow I will be getting back into the game. I have 29 days to reach my goal of 195-190. I now I have to lose..........at least 8 pounds to make the high end of the goal.
I know I can do it.
Let's just hope there are no more "stressful" events.
And as for the tub, oh yeah baby, you know I fixed that all on my own.
With a little help from the internet that is. |
