Rep Power: 26 | | Ok so yesterday's food went like this:
Morning:
Coffee w/ lite creamer
blueberry almond crunch cereal w/ lite soy vanilla milk
Mid-morning snack:
cheese stick
Lunch:
Leftover chinese - I know I said I wouldn't, but I took the rice, the veggies and added a couple of eggs and stir-fried it together for a whole meal. I split with dh.
Snack:
Blueberry snack bar (like a 90 cal. one)
Cheese stick
Supper:
Peanut butter and sugar free strawberry jam on toast
vanilla yogurt with strawberries cut up
fresh garden tomato
evening snack:
pistachios (probably one too many!)
My calorie count was around 1600 - I know it's not exact because of the chinese leftovers. But it should be about right. I'd even go up to as high as 1800.
More than I should've had, but not so much for a 1 lb gain since yesterday? I had also exercised for 33 min. on the elliptical (5 of which were a cool down.)
Maybe I had too much salt? Or the chinese from the day before caught up with me - that and the brownies and cookies! Ugh!
Why do I do this to myself? |

Why do I do this to myself? | More than likely it could be the salt. How much water did you drink yesterday.
On the days that I don't drink water I notice a considerable difference on the scale. It will swing almost 2-3 pounds from water retention.
Without the water your body wasn't able to get rid of the salt as easliy as it should.
I have a 20oz bottle that I fill up and put flavor packs in. I try to drink at least 5 a day. In laymens terms that rounds out to be something like 12-8oz glasses of water everyday.
Why we do it...........because it tastes good! I am still struggling with eating when I shouldn't just because it sounds like it would be tasty.
I have conquered my biggest eating because thing though. When I use to go to the store (didn't matter for what) everytime I would get a candy bar. Everytime.
The 1st week was hard to NOT grab a candy bar in the check-out, just because it was such a habit. I would actually catch myself in the act without even thinking about it. Now I don't let myself mindlessly be a robot. I pay closer attention to what I am feeling and thinking.
Anther thing...........chew gum. If your mouth is already busy you can't possible put food into it without making the decision to take the gum out.
I hope that this helps.
And you'll get back on track. I know you will!!!

Rep Power: 20 | | Our weight fluctuates from day to day. Don't stress over it. I weigh myself everyday and I was told it would make me crazy. Well, it did for the most part at the beginning of my journey , I could just not accept 4 lb gain overnight, then 3 lb loss overnight... Until I learned to accept my fluctuations and I don't put too much into the everyday measurements only the once a week ones.
For instance I know that my weight is always higher Sun- Mond. then any other day of the week. Why? Have no idea!!!
Your 1 lb gain is probably just salt or your body's normal fluctuation.
Pick a day in the week when you weigh in and only record that. It will be easier on your motivation!!
Keep up the exercise and choose healthy foods and you will get there!!

Bellaryna | Yeah I know I've got to get in more water. I will get the flavor packs too - I always used to like them and gum, love it but my TMJ gets to bothering me after awhile. |

Hajni | I know we shouldn't weigh ourselves everyday - but some of us just seem to be more motivated that way.
You're right, I think I already flushed it out of my system and I'm sure it was salt. I'm back down to where I was a few days ago (before the pizza episode!)
Thanks for the encouragement! |

Rep Power: 26 | | Ok I just got done with a killer yoga workout - yeah I said killer! I know tomorrow I'm going to pay for it. I used to do yoga/pilates (the power stuff) all the time, but then like everything, I let it go by the wayside.
Got housework to do. :blah: |

Rep Power: 30 | | | Well at least the house work is a workout depending on what you are doing. Hope you have a great day & I love the play on words with the name even if it was a mistake. So sweet that you hubby calls you that! |

Rep Power: 26 | | A late welcome to the forum. Yeah, keep healthy foods on hand so you don't fall prey to high calorie ones like brownies.
I also drink two litres a day of unsweetened ice tea (diluted black and green and lemon tea). It gives me the satisfaction of putting something in my mouth after breakfast and lunch and definitely saves me excess calories during the day.
Just keep doing what you're doing. I found the first two months the hardest emotionally because you're waiting for something to happen and you're filled with angst wondering if what you're doing is working.
Like Cannon said, Make the changes and get out of your own way. |

I cleaned the bird cage (ew) and dusted. Don't think that was much work as far as calories burned. But at least I got it done. |

Like Cannon said, Make the changes and get out of your own way. | Hi Happy! Thanks for stopping by.
I did get in more water yesterday. 3 20 oz. glasses - plus of course coffee which technically doesn't count due to the caffeine. And I drank a diet orange soda. I appreciate the advice!

Rep Power: 26 | | Ok so yesterday was a good day.
Here's my meals:
Morning:
coffee w/lite creamer
(accidentally skipped breakfast)
midmorning snack: blueberry bar and cheese stick
Lunch: tuna fish (plain), tomato, strawberry yogurt
Dinner: a pizza quesadilla (turkey pepperoni, a tad of sauce, and shredded cheese, on a small tortilla) - 2 of them
small apple
Snack: Made a boxed cake with just milk and water and added blueberries - so it was like a pudding/crumb cake. I cut it into 16 pieces so each piece had less cals. I did have 2 pieces though.
Exercise:
40 min. of power yoga (ouch my sides and shoulders hurt today.)
Water: 3 - 20 oz glasses, 1 diet orange soda, and coffee
Goals today:
Stay on plan by choosing healthy foods, up my water intake and get on the elliptical or treadmill for 30-40 min. |

Rep Power: 20 | | Congrats on doing good on your water intake!! And it seems you are right on track. I love my treadmill, I was debating between that and an elliptical. The treadmill won!
Your meals seem healthy and seem to be in calorie range too, just out of curiousity, have you tried entering them into Fitday.com or something similar to give you the exact calorie amount?
Hope you are having a good day!!
PS: I am a Hungarian by birth, moved to the country when I was 21, so hungarian music is like nostalgic to me, helping with home sickness!!

Hajni | Hi Hajni - Yeah I'm entering them into a place called fittrack, but it's down this morning. I think I'm going to use a different calorie tracking system. I used to use Dietpower, but now I have a Mac and they don't have it made for Mac. I'm bummed.
Yeah I read your bio, I just think it's cool about the Hungarian music.
Thanks for the support!!! |

Sorry, sometimes i repeat myself.. LOL. i like to blame it on no coffee, but I already had my coffee this morning..
I never heard of fittrack, i love these forums, always learning something new!
Congrats on your yoga workout. I never tried yoga but I am toying with the idea. Do you do it in the gym or at home from a disc? I have tried pilates and when I was sticking to it ( did it like every day) I had great results. I got bored of it, but I still try to do it like once a week or every two weeks.
Hopefully get to know each other better and shed these lbs like nothing!!
Did you look at the Halloween challange? i am so exited about it!!

I never heard of fittrack, i love these forums, always learning something new! Well fittrack wasn't working this morning, so I might just do everything on sparkpeople - I used to use it all of the time and loved it!
Congrats on your yoga workout. I never tried yoga but I am toying with the idea. Do you do it in the gym or at home from a disc? Well I have a Power Yoga DVD that is awesome, it's produced by MTV and you would think it would be all weird, but it's not. I actually checked out videos from my local library and found another Power Yoga video there that was also produced by MTV. But, the workout I did yesterday was recorded on the dvr. It's called Inhale. You're like up and down every other second. I couldn't do it all - had to take breaks in between some stuff. Which when I did it before I got pretty good with it. I will just have to get to doing it more often. I know it helps with the muscles as mine are sore this morning!
I have tried pilates and when I was sticking to it ( did it like every day) I had great results. I got bored of it, but I still try to do it like once a week or every two weeks. I like pilates too, I'm going to have to do some of that as well as it makes for strong abs.
Hopefully get to know each other better and shed these lbs like nothing!!
Did you look at the Halloween challange? i am so exited about it!! I haven't yet, but will go check it out. I'm pumped after the workout I just did!
Hajni | I just finished up a great workout on the elliptical - I'm usually not so pumped afterwards, but I hooked up my little Ipod shuffle and was really going strong. It's amazing how much of a difference it made. I usually watch tv, but this morning just worked out to the music. I'll have to keep up with this and only watch my programs once in awhile. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
