Last night I planned on exercising, but things kept popping up and I never got to it.
I got a call from Bell that she can't exercise tonight, so I'm going to stay home (I don't officially start the class until next week anyway.) Got to go get my ds and then I will take a long walk with the dog after I get back. I think he knows I'm talking about him because he keeps running over here...

Thanks B! I did get in 40 min. of walking. I wanted to do more, but my MIL's dog kept following us and I didn't want her to get hit. So then I came home and got on the elliptical for a total of 85 min. today.
Total this week: 270 min. (4 hrs. 30 min.)

Also, wanted to let you know that instead of 2 teams for the memorial day challenge, I decided to merge the teams as there were not many to begin with and some have dropped out. Please feel free to join us on the STARS team thread.

Hey
Glad to hear that you got some exercise in. I didn't.
I guess since I already messed it up today by making bad choices at the Mexican eatery I figured I might as well just make this my free day.
So after my tummy settled the kids and I had ice cream. And Gil made Flan tonight. Yummy custardy dessert with a caramel sauce!!! OH BABY!
Way to go on sticking to your guns!

Yarmiah, it's a Schnoodle (part Schnauzer and part poodle.)
Ok, I will look for the STARS team.

I weighed in this morning at 163! That's down a 1/2 a lb. I think the workouts at the Y have really given me a boost plus I've been keeping my cals under 1300.
This morning I woke up to a tremor. We had an earthquake all the way in IN! Well I guess it started in IL, but we are on the fault line. It doesn't happen very frequently thank goodness! But it was about 5:40 in the morning and I heard the door handle to my bedroom creek (I was probably on alert cause dh is out of town.) Then, I felt the bed shake a bit, and heard a rattling noise, and the dog growled and barked. First thought was my son was coming into my room. 2nd thought was that it was a tornado of sorts, and I was waiting for it to hit! But then, I heard more noises, I called out, "Hello?" LOL Like if it was anything other than a natural thing someone would say hello back...Ha!
Then my phone buzzed. I thought it was definitely an alarm (we have an alarm on the house.) But when I checked it was my dh - said his flight was leaving have a good day... so I went back to bed thinking it was still in my imagination and I must've dreamed it. Well right before my alarm went off I heard one of the boys get up and get their shower, then I heard a lot of scuffling noises (which was the bird going all crazy in his cage!) I knew then something was going on, but wasn't sure what it was.
The alarm went off and we have it tuned to a local radio station. Sure enough it was an earthquake! We are in NE Indiana, the earthquake started in IL, and was felt all the way to OH! It was only a 5.4 (but later they downsized it to a 5.2.) I'm glad it wasn't anything bigger than that though. Then, I guess there were about 6 aftershocks through out the morning and a big one (4.6) around 11 am, but I was at school then and I don't remember feeling anything out of the ordinary.
After finding out what it was, I went to check on the kids to see if they had anything to report. Which their stories grew as the day went on. And during this time I was texting dh back and forth. Finally I called him because the kids said while I was in the shower he called. I guess his plane was delayed because they had to evacuate the control tower. While I was talking to him the Captain came on and I could hear him as plain as I could hear dh (so now I know why they say to turn off cell phones.) I guess he made all of his connections ok because I didn't hear otherwise.
What a crazy day!

Wow- that must have been an experience! Being in IN, I guess you are not used to the feelings of earthquakes and shockwaves . . I hope I never feel it myself!
Gratz on that loss and new # on the scale! You have been working so hard, and deserve it.

I think as far as the earthquakes go, we are on a fault line, so we should expect it once in awhile. However, you're right it doesn't happen too often. In fact the last time it happened, I didn't feel a thing. I think it depends on what you're doing and how big the tremor is.
10 lbs sure does make a difference though. I know I've been here before, but I got to say that things are just fitting better. I have these jammie pants (on right now) that don't "give" much. They have an elastic waistband, but that's about it. Anyway, I put them on months ago and decided I needed to give them a rest because they weren't comfortable to sleep in. Now, however, I've been pulling them out of my drawer again - and they are very comfortable! It makes you want to stay on track for sure.
Speaking of ... need to go exercise...

Just got off the elliptical and treadmill. I first did the elliptical and then remembered the challenge for this week - since I know I can't sleep for 30 min./day, I had to run...so I did. Just got in my 1/2 mi in 5 min. I am beat! I haven't run in awhile - usually I avoid it. But I knew I could do it. I think it helps I've been getting in my cardio more than usual. I did have to push myself a bit harder. I started out at 5.5 mph and then had to back down for just a min. Then boosted it up to 6 mph so I could get it in under the 5 min.
Afterwards, I walked for 5 more min. for a cool down and then a good stretch. I'll definitely have to drink my water today!
I needed a good workout because I'm going out to lunch with a friend...so got to go take my shower now!
