Well Mindi, I will just have to scoot over to your blog to read.
Bell, I am not listening to music, just watching my pre-recorded shows and upping the levels after the 60 and 90 sec. intervals.
I did exercise Tues. on the elliptical and then Wed. back to the treadmill. I got in almost 2 miles in 30 min. on the treadmill yesterday. My hip doesn't hurt (that much) today either. So maybe if I keep it up, it won't hurt at all. Like a hinge that needs oiled, huh?
I didn't exercise this evening though. Partly because I was planning on going to Bell's for small groups and so I didn't have it in my mind that I was going to exercise. And partly because I've been doing some research on raised bed gardening with kiddos. We are going "green" at the school I work at. But, that doesn't bother me as long as they don't expect us to do too many things out of the ordinary (like composting human waste which is a disgusting thought, but some do it.)
So, I'm going to focus on gardening with the kids inside and outside of the classroom. I'm hoping to have some indoor window sill herb gardens as well throughout the year. Now the only thing I don't really want to do is the worm composting inside the classroom. I like worms to stay outside where they belong!
My own garden will be up to the kiddos and dh this year since I will be away most of the summer again.
Well, once the weather decides to stay nice, dh and I will be back out to exercise as long as the black flies and mosquitoes don't carry us away. But, that almost sounds like too much to ask for since we have a lot of standing water around here.
I did step on the scale - yesterday it went back up to 169 (and I ate pretty well), today back down to 168.8.
I'm hoping it gets farther down. Of course as Bell says, I need to drink my water. I told her I was on the 12 step program. I'm already on step 1 and 2 - exercising and eating decent.

This morning I decided to just start tracking the weight from 169, so that is why you see a loss.
I took yesterday off from my exercise as well. I got home and just was beat and ended up napping on the couch for over an hour! I figured I must have needed the rest more than the exercise.
Today is going to be hard for me only because I'm home and am always in snacking mood when I'm home. I will try to keep busy so that I'm not "thinking" about it.

I believe I took a few too many days off of the exercise because my weight climbed back up. Lately I have not been feeling well - not really wanting to do much of anything and it's a big effort for me to get started. So somedays it just feels like it is easier to just not do anything. Which isn't good for me.
I did get on the elliptical this morning and was thinking of taking a walk with dh, but it got pretty chilly and it was super windy. Which doesn't make for a nice walk.
I just joined a challenge, so I'll see if that does anything for the motivation.

Thankfully when I got back on the scale this morning it was back down to 168.6. So, I will take that.
Dh is trying to be helpful, but he is being over helpful and it's not doing me any good.
I stressed myself out today and had to take a 2 hr nap after church. I think I would've slept longer if I was left alone. But, dh came in to see how I was doing.
My youngest son's Mother's Day gift to me was to take me out for ice cream, so after my nap I took him to the ice cream shop and I got a small strawberry shake. It was good and enough. At least it wasn't my usual which is like a reese blizzard but even better because the chunks of reeses are huge! But worse for the body, I'm sure.
No exercise today, but good on the food. I need to kick the habit of eating snacks and I think this "ride" might go smoother.

Yesterday I got on the treadmill and the elliptical! I signed up for a challenge, and decided I just needed to do it! I also did crunches and ended up with 60 min. altogether.
Today dh and I took a long walk, I told him we had to walk at least 30 min. before we turned around. And, that's just what we did - so we both got in 60 min. of a brisk walk this evening.
I'm tired now, but I think the kids are dragging me down at school due to their unfocused behavior which is caused by the change in barometer!
Have a great week!

Good to see you're getting back on track!! I'm with you on the snacking habit...I've been doing ok for the past couple of days, and I'm working on identifying the things I DO snack on so I can get rid of them. For example, we've got part of a leftover box of Yogurt Burst Cheerios that I've taken to snacking on whenever I'm in the kitchen. Gotta get rid of those...they're too good dry!!! Also some crackers my husband takes to work in his lunch every day with some cheese...if they're out, I'll eat a few too many times a day. Gotta put those up!!
Guess I have snacking "Triggers" I never realized...maybe you've got some too?

Yesterday I did not exercise. I went to our small group meeting and then out for dinner. Actually at school we got in a nature walk, but most of it was not worth considering as exercise - except for the climb up two hills.
Today I have not exercised as of yet, but will do so as soon as I eat.

I substituted splenda instead of sugar. Also, I used 1/2 wheat and 1/2 all-purpose flour.
I posted this in the challenge thread, but lately my dh has been making the best french toast. You take a piece of bread and dip it in egg beaters, then cook it on the griddle (or pan.)
He sprinkles it with cinnamon too... Mmmm!
Today I got on the treadmill with all intentions of going for at 45 min. But, my feet were getting too numb and I just can't stand that feeling. Oh well, I knew I was in for it after 10 min. of being on the treadmill and the numbness started up.

I can't IMAGINE doing 45 minutes on the treadmill...I'd die of boredom! I can stand 15 minutes if it's in front of a TV. I can't listen to music either. Too many years in marching band...I try to match my feet to the beat, which doesn't work on songs slower than the treadmill!!!

Yeah Mindi, it does get a little boring, but I watch tv while I do it. So not too bad. I also up the speed and then bring it back down in 60 and 90 sec. increments. So that keeps me awake on the treadmill. The only problem I have is that my feet go numb. That makes me want to get off sooner.
The same thing happens when I walk outside as well - and it's not after any length of time, just the mundane steps you take while taking a walk.
Tonight we walked for an hour and 15 min. and got in at least 4 miles. It's our route from last year. But, we thought we should've worked up to it as we are sore and tired tonight.
I am having an issue eating too many carbs lately. Just wanting too many too. So, I'm going to work on that this week.

Treadmills are proof of the existence of evil - well, them and minivans... seriously, even with the best playlist I can come up with on my iPod... BORING!
Sounds like you had a good week for exercise and such. I did good too this week, now I gotta keep it up...
