Rep Power: 7 | | Hey bikinibound. Thanks for stopping by. In regards to my eating, I've been faithfully logging everything I eat into fitday for the past 14 days. I'm averaging about 1475 calories a day. Usually in the form of about 3 sensible meals. I'm working on upping my protein intake. I drink plenty of water, a lot of seltzer because the carbonation helps to keep me from craving soda, etc.
So, today I've done 30 minutes on my bike (4.9 miles). I'll do the other 30 mins a little later. My stamina just isn't there yet to do 60 mins straight. I'm going to try and up my speed a bit for my next 30, just so I can hit 5 miles in 30 mins. |

I would definitely increase the protein intake--especially as you're lifting weights. Try eating 6 small meals per day--that revs up the old metabolism like crazy. And like I said in my post, for a guy of your size, you are starving yourself, causing your body to adjust and live off fewer calories, slowing down your weightloss considerably. If I were you, I'd eat 6 330-340cal meals per day. you might gain a few pounds at first, but this is normal. You will lose it quickly once your metabolism gets back up there. Trust me, I know all about this!! |

Rep Power: 7 | | I'm going to try and up my daily calories like you suggested bikini. I had 2000 calories today. Its going to be hard to get into that mindset of having to eat more. I know its the correct way to maximize weight loss, but its hard to fight intuition. Anyway, I did 10 miles on the stationary bike (61 minutes) and some weight training. I'm ready for my metabolism to kick into high gear. I really thought it would take a lot longer for my body to shift into starvation mode. Well, today was a pretty good day. One day closer to my goal. |

Bet you didn't think you'd hear that on a weight loss forum! lol You would be surprised at how quickly your body can go into starvation mode--as little as 3 days, I've heard. |

Rep Power: 7 | | Just doing a quick update before hitting the sack. Ate about 2100 calories today. Did some weight training. And also did 60 mins (9.7 miles) on the bike. It was a pretty good day. Hopefully I start seeing some results. |

Rep Power: 7 | | Today is Wednesday, and I didn't post yesterday because I took a day off. I stuck with my diet but didn't do any weight training or ride my bike. Today I'm back, sticking to my diet faithfully (only got 1500 calories though, was trying to hit 2000). I've done 30 minutes (4.7 miles) on my bike and will do another 30mins before bed. Also did the usual weight training The scale still hates me, but I'm going to power through this plateau and not let it derail me. To health and happiness. |

I've been plateauing for 2 weeks now. It sucks. I've been doing the low-carb thing this week. Hopefully that will help. Just try to mix up your eating and exercise--maybe some more resistance training? |

I guess you've just got to be patient and hang in there. I did take a few days off from training, stuck to the "diet" though. Maybe I just needed to let my body rest. Well, back to working out today. |

I think I'm gonna hafta go easier on the exercise, and maybe a bit on the diet. My husband suggested taking a week off exercise, but I'm in the Halloween Challenge and if I don't exercise for 30min a day, I don't earn pts for me team..lol. So Maybe I'll just cut back on the exercise--do 30min a day instead of an average of 45min.
Keep plugging away. Whatever you're doing seems to be working--20lbs is awesome! |

Hopefully I'm done plateauing and I'm sure you'll have that major breakthrough soon.
Well, one more day closer to my goal. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
