Rep Power: 20 | | | Day 16 (week 3, day2) The kids were off of school today, and we went to meet my sister for lunch. I did get on the Nordik Trak for 30 min first thing, as I know the longer the day goes on, the more excuses I will find for not getting on it. Knowing I would be having an early lunch with my sister, I had a piece of fruit for breakfast. She decided on a mongolian stir fry bar. It was pretty cool- you tell them what meat u want and they hand you a bowl which you fill with veggies from a salad bar. It is served with rice, I opted for the white instead of the fried rice. All in all I dont think it was a bad choice, and I ate about 2/3 of it at lunch, and finished it for dinner. I did recognize a mistake/slip I made when grabbing a snack in the afternoon- I estimated the number of bran crackers, instead of counting them out. I know it was not alot more than a serving, but if I keep doing that kind of thing, all those of the estimations will add up quickly.
Breakfast - banana
Lunch - chicken/veggie stirfry with rice
Snack - bran crackers, SF pudding
Dinner - leftover stirfry
Snack - chocolate milk, popcorn

Rep Power: 26 | | Sounds like you had a great day!
I have a little story about a Nordic Trak ski machine dh and I bought a long while back...well to make the story short...basically we got it, unwrapped it, set it up, then dh got on it, fell off of it...then we called the company and sent it back!!
It's funny now that I think back on it, but of course at the time dh did not see the amusement. |

I started working out in the mornings first just to "get it out of the way", so i don't have to worry about it later on. Then once I did that and sat at work for 9 hrs and went home and did my house-chores, kind of felt I did not exercise today... so I did some more. Tell you, tricks we can play with our minds... LOL
Mongolian Stir Fry bar. I would have loved to try it. I love to try foods and I bet they had some nice vegetarian choices as well. My absolute favorite is indian food, we used to go at least once a month or twice to the indian buffet, but since i can't control myself when I am there we just stopped until I reach my goal. Good for you to make great choices, I would have not had the strenght I think. There are certain foods I am kind of addicted to and if I have it front of me, there is no rhyme or reason with me I will eat as much as I possibly can!!! my only solution is to avoid them all together!!
You are going strong and you are an awesome supporter to us all on Casper's Countdown. Thank you girl!!

Rep Power: 20 | | | Day 17 (week 3,day 3) Today was quite an early start. DH has a scheduled sinus surgery and we had to get up at 5am. Rushing us and the kids out and being so early, had no time for breakfast. We got home around 12:30pm, but I had to run out and get his scripts and he wanted soup, so I grabbed some salad bar while out and had that for lunch. I kept telling myself that even tho it was Tuesday (a non NT day), I really need to exercise because so far this week, nothing has been routine, including my diet. I was kind of happy it was rainy, or I would have settled for takin the dog for a walk as exercise, but instead, I was a GOOD GIRL and got on that NT at 5pm. I need to keep workin on my water- even tho the challenge is over, I have not even kept up with drinking my standard 34oz. ggrrr.
I have been tempted to step on the scale, but have been fighting the urge because I have not been as predicatable this week, and if there is not progress on the scale, it may set me up for feeling bad & "falling off the wagon". I can, however, feel that my clothes are slightly looser, so this is a good sign.
Breakfast - none
Lunch - garden salad with egg, cheese and chicken
Snack - rice cake
Dinner - 2 bowls of beef soup(homemade)
Dessert - Slim-A-Bear

Rep Power: 20 | | | Day 18(week 3, day 4) I'm so glad to be back into a routine! I work wed- sat, and since the girls weekend last week, I 've been out of whack. Hubby was sleeping in bed, recovering from his surgery the day before, so I drug the Nordik out of the bedroom, into the TV room and hopped on first thing this AM. My overall mood is good, again, happy to be back in a routine. I also finished my water bottle, which is a plus. I usually have choir practice on Wed's, but it was cancelled, so I took the opportunity to get the lawn mowed, and bonus exercise.
Breakfast - whole wheat mini bagel, with light cream cheese, 1% milk
Lunch - WW frozen entree(potatoes broccoli w/cheese), WW yogurt
Snack - apple with P.B.
Dinner - 2 lite hot dogs, 1 lite roll, green beans, ear of corn
Dessert - air popped popcorn(spray butter and ranch seasoning, YUM!)

I read about the .8 lbs up, don't let it discourage you. It's hard not to want to believe in the scales and make them measure our progress, but you are getting stronger and eating healthier. Keep it up!

Oh, girl I just read your post on Casper. Don't let the 0.8 lb get you down. I was up this morning too with like 0.2 lbs from Sat. Absolutely illogical as i am counting calories and exercising like a mad-woman. There are fluctuations in weights from one day to another, you might just caught a "high" day. I weigh myself everyday and got used to seeing numbers totally un-reasonable. One day I am 158 the next day I am 159.2 for no reason!! Then I am 158.6 the third day. I stopped worrying about it, and just concentrate on the weekly number.
Tell you, I was 158 on Sat, I haven't seen that darn number since!!!! The closest I came to it was today at 158.2 and I still know I will have a good number on Sat. Because I believe it will be!!!!
Did you go back to drinking under 64 oz a day? the less we drink the more our body holds onto the water... just a thought.
Keep on going... you will see a nice surprise at the end.

Rep Power: 20 | | Thanx guys. I think its human nature to be disappointed when the scale dosnt reflect what you want it to. But also realize that its not the only way to track progress, and opver teh past 3 weeks, I am doing my body good, no matter what the stupid scale says.
As far as water goes, yest was my first day of gettin down my entire 34oz water bottle. I guess I was so sick of water after doing 88oz a day last week, and that coupled with the fact its been an offweek up until Weds. I will continue to work on gettin in that 34oz everyday at the minimum.
Sweet/sweatpea NT is my abbreviation for my Nordik Trak ski machine thingy. |

Rep Power: 20 | | | Day 19(week 3,day5) Well, today didnt start off so good. I was dead tired and really ddint want to get up and exercise.I figured I'd step on the scale and if it was down, I would get my exercise in the form of a walk with the dog in the evening, but instead of being down it was up. I collected myself after wasting 15 min of frustration, and did some floor exercises. Then went home and cleaned the house and got on the NT in the evening.
I did very well with my diet and water today also.
Breakfast - raisin bran, 1% milk
Snack - 94% FF popcorn
Lunch - WW entree, peach
Snack - WW yogurt, rice cake
Dinner - garden salad w/ chicken, egg & cheese

Rep Power: 20 | | | Day 20(week3,day6) So it's TGIF and I'm determined to have a loss on the scale at weigh in on Sat so I don't let my Halloween Challenge Teammates down. Again, first thing in the Am, I knock out my exercise on the NT 30+ minutes. I pack my water bottle with me and head to work in a focused state of mind. I knew it was likely we(the girls n' me at the office) would go out to eat, and I told myself eat what you want . . IN MODERATION and adjust your dinner meal appropriately, which is exactly what I did.
Breakfast - mini whole wheat bagel w/ PB
Lunch - ONE slice white pizza, hand full french fries
Snack - fat free gelati
Dinner - peas & carrots, sampling of roasted potatoes
Dessert - sf jello and lite cool whip

My personal diet is on a Sun- Sat schedule, but because I'm participating in the Halloween Challenge, I have been weighing in on Sat. Happy to report a loss of 1.6lbs! which was very rewarding considering the worry I felt when I stepped on the scale a few days ago and it reflected a gain!

Rep Power: 20 | | | Day21(week3, day7) So it's weigh in day for the Challenge, and as mentioned in the previous post, it was a happy surprise at a loss of 1.6lbs. I headed to work early, as Saturday's we start at 8am. The boss brought in Dunkin Donuts and I was proud to say I only ate 1/2 of a bagel and put a little p.b. on it. After 1 cup of coffee, I started on my water. Picked up pizza for lunch for the family, but I opted to have a garden salad instead, knowing we would be heading to the in-laws for a nephew's bday party and they always have so much food there. I did ok for the meal there, but did dip into my "weekly points allowance", but am learning NOT to feel guilty about doing that- that is what they are there for. Besides, it's probably better to get in the extra calories early in the week and burn them off, than to consume them closer to weigh in.
