I am so glad to hear that you are feeling okay! I was worried about you when we didn't hear from ya.
Gald to know that you are still on track. Don't worry about the number on the scale. With all the strength training you are more likely to notice weight-loss in your clothes than on the scale.
Have a nice dinner with the hubby!
Ciao

Weigh in tomorrow- not sure what to expect.

Generally, I think and feel I have been doing well. BUT Friday was my "cheat day"- I ate out for lunch, and dinner that day- nothing extravigant, but I usually dont eat out much at all, let alone 2x in one day. Also, I did not work out Friday nor Monday, as monday was a snowday. Over the weekend I didnt track my calories, but made smart choices I think. I have been drinking water, exercising the rest of the week, as well as being more aware of my choices. Guess we will see tomorrow.

Oh, I got a boost today:
while working solo at the gym, a personal trainer passed me by giving me a "thumbs up" for having good form. I was doing an exercise with a ball on my back, 10lbs weights in each hand then squatting down and on the way back up doing a curl and chest press.

DOH! I forgot to post my loss- I did do it on the ticker tho, as well as the spring challenge thread.

I'm doing well, and feeling great! I actually look forward to the gym!
I don't feel like I'm struggling with food- if I want food, I question whether
or not I'm really hungry, and if I am, I will eat. I went to a St. Patrick's Day party at my cousins and did ok too- allowed myself a scone and a msall piece of cake.

Going to see Riverdance for the first time tomorrow! I'm looking forward to it!

Lightbulb I'm BAAAACCCK!

Been WAY too long!

I'm returning here because I had the most success with my weight loss while tracking food, exercising and making use of these boards. I think had I not gone through the tragedy of losing my Dad shortly after joining this forum (and subsequently losing my Mom only 3 months later), I would have reached my goal years ago.

I'm about the same weight that I was when I started back in the fall of 07' , so at least I haven't gained any lol. I joined a gym back in Feb and go there over my lunch hour 4-5 days a week, including a 1 hr session with a P.T every Wednesday. I continue to eat healthy foods, but struggle with portions and snacking and attibute those factors to why the weight is not coming off. I rejoined the "selfdietclub" for tracking, as that is also what I was using when I first joined these forums, and that site suggests a target of 1679 calories a day. My long term goal is to get to 150 and re-access after that if/how much more to lose. In the meantime, I will set smaller goals as well, starting with 10lbs.

As far as my personal life goes, my family is doing well. Hubby is in the 2nd year of his new teaching job and loving it. I'm still working for the dentist. The kids are growing like weeds! We got my Dad's estate settled, and are on the final steps of closing Mom's too. The healing process is going well, having only the occasion "cry" when missing them. All in all, life is pretty good.

Let's get this party started!!!

Welcome back Yarm!

I returned to these forums too, after realizing that I lost the most significant amount of weight when surrounded by likeminded cheerleaders, counsellors, and friends.

Sorry to hear about your folks, but congratulations on sticking with your goals.

Party hearty! Salut!

Thanks Maverick!

Ate within my caloric limits, 1691 of the recc. 1697. It did come as a shock tho, that I had eaten most of those calories before 2pm. That was because lunch with the girls was at fuddruckers and I chose the Markettoss salad, thinkin it was a wise choice (lettuce, chicken, tomatoes, some cheese and bacon sprinkled ontop). Turns out when I got back to work to check the nutritional value, it said @775 calories!!!

Did not hit the gym today, as everyother friday I go to lunch with the girls. Will get some walking in tomorrow tho, trick or treating with the kids.

Off to a good start.

Eating and exercising, but still need to increase my water. I did allow myself a few "fun size" candies, but accounted for them in my food tracking.

On my way to the gym!! Check back later!

Eating well, and got 40 min and the stair climber in yest.

Did some shopping today and lots of house cleaning- not "formal exercise" but burning some calories no doubt.

I've got around 700 calories left for the day and planning on having
a 93% lean burger on whole wheat roll, baked fries and veggies for dinner.
I should still be left with a few and could have some popcorn or sugar free jello for dessert.

Posting Wednesday's info.

Consumed: 1637
Burned: 513

Had a good day staying on track, but had a bit of a headache hit me around 3pm. I'm not one to take medicine, but it was still pounding when I got back from choir practice @9pm. So I took some advil and headed to bed.

While at the gym, I signed up for a program entitled "Maintain, Don't Gain".
Although my goal is to lose weight over teh coming weeks, I could pass up the opportunity for additional support and tips for staying focused, especially at this very tempting time of year. I think it starts 11/16/09 and runs til the 2nd week or so of Jan. There will be weekly weigh ins too, that will help keep my accountable.

Off to get this new day started!

The two biggest obstacles in my way of success are

-uncontrolled snacking
-the mindset of "oh I screwed up this one time, so the whole day is a bust, therefore I can eat what I want and start over tomorrow."

I think they sort of go hand-in-hand, but if I can just remain focused on my goals and what steps are needed to achieve that, there would be no uncontrolled snacking, or uncontrolled anything! I need to REALLY pay attention when/where/what are the times when I lose my focus so I can be prepared! I have 2 things on board to address this:

#1. joined a program at the gym "Maintain don't Gain" that runs 11/16/09- 1/4/10. My ultimate goal is to lose, but will take all the help I can get!
#2. I planned out my meals for the week. If it's not on the list, it's not going in my mouth!

Will be hitting the gym at lunch, and by 11:00 will be starting on my 1st water bottle!

So, I peeked at that scale this monring, and happy to see 178.2!

Did REAL well yest: eating, exercise, vitamin and water. Was tempted to have a few pretzels in the afternoon, but realized that I wanted them out of habit, not because I was hungry and reminded myself of my goals . . so I did not give in.

Tuesdays info:
Calories consumed: 1140 (seems low to me, but will be careful to not go too low)
Calories burned: 296

Today I meet with the trainer at the gym- we've been doing some circuit training and it really kicks my butt!!! Feels like more cardio than an 45 min stint on the stair climber lol!

11:30pm-
doing well, staying focused. Was thinking of having a snack after dinner, but really wasnt hungry so I opted for some decaf coffee instead. Here are the stats for today
Wednesdays info:
Calories consumed: 1200
Calories burned: 565

What a wet, dreary wintery day- wish it were snow instead of cold rain, but oh well. It's beautiful in it's own way.

Woke up a little early, per my daughter's request to get HER up, which coincidentally didn't happen lol. Packed my lunch and will be heading to the gym at lunch. Co-worker told me she would be bringing in a home-made apple pie, and I will allow myself a small piece and count the calories.

Today is cleaning day, joy of joys. Likely getting chinese for dinner, but planning on ordering light fare- chix and stringbeans or the like, and very little rice.

Keeping focused, working toward my goal!
