Rep Power: 25 | | HAPPY NEW YEAR! Last night we took our daughters out to see the new movie "Enchanted." It was very entertaining! Much better than I had expected, and I do recommend it for some good, clean fun. No cussing, no smut, just lots of laughs & fun!
I just got off the treadmill after 2 hours. I was watching a marathon of Big Medicine, the father & son docs who perform gastric bypass. It is always easier to work out while watching fat folks lose weight, no matter how! Very inspiring. Truth be told, if my family were not in the house with me today, I would likely have just stayed on that treadmill for another couple of hours! But the house does need some tidying, and hopefully Mom can come over for New Year's Day dinner.
Hope you all enjoyed a fun New Year's Eve, doing what you like with whomever you like best! After the movie we came home, got in our PJs, and watched tv til midnight. The kids think it's totally fun to stay up late with us. They are still relatively easy to please! God bless us all in 2008.

~Janice | Janice! Sounds like your family had fun! Thats awesome! My mom and I just chilled in front of the tv doing a movie marathon. I started talking with this new gent, he seems really nice and he is park of a bike riding group. They meet every Saturday to cycle around Dover NH .. I think that would be some good fun . .. They bike with banana seats, I will just be taking my road bike, but its winter now, but I will join them later, but looking forward to it ..
AWESOME job on the treadmill!! And what is this show you are talking about? It must be good ..and I bet it was motivating lol If I had the funds, I would get a treadmill ..but I don't ... or actually no room ..lol
well ttylater hun
love yas

Rep Power: 25 | | Hi NatalieJo. A bike riding group could be quite a bit of fun, once the weather improves! We won't have Spring here until March/April. January and February always seem so drab, but what can you do?
I am home from work for the next couple of days. Good thing, too, as I am struggling with the same dang cold as everyone else in my family and in our whole town! Just plain no fun. However, it has not kept me from my beloved/hated treadmill in the basement. Today I did 1.5 hours on it, plus about 90 situps and 40 pushups or so. YEESH! Yes, my pathetic scale still says the same thing, but given the fatty season we've just come through, I really can't complain!
I am off for coffee with an old friend shortly. Hope all is well for all of you as you continue on with your fitness journeys!
Cheers |

Rep Power: 25 | | Happy Friday. I went for my weigh in, and was okay with the fact that I have neither lost nor gained one single ounce over the holidays. This means I am still sitting at 176 lbs, and my goal remains 155 lbs.
I can't really think of what else I can do to beat this plateau, other than stick with my dedication to exercise (spending at least one hour on the treadmill at a good clip, fully sweating, on a steep incline at least 5 days per week). Also, I am back to writing down my food, as per the WW programme. I am supposed to be eating no more than 22 points per day, plus a bonus of 35 pts per week, which I can break down into an extra 5 per day I guess. Today I have eaten 23 points, but I also had some egg nog in my coffee, so I believe that will take me up to my total for the day. I have not been on treadmill yet today due to feeling so yucky with my cold, but have taken some meds and now am feeling ready to tackle "the mill".
I am glad I went to a WW meeting today. I feel like I am starting fresh in this new year, and am still so tickled to have lost 35 lbs last year! 2008 is full of promise for me - and for you, too

I am sorry that you have succumbed to the germs.
Many, many people would strongly envy someone who had not put on and ounce over the Christmas holidays. You have done very well. I imagine that some of your WW group fell into the category of people who's weight is up!
I know that as you continue being strict with your diet and exercise - your weight will eventually come down from the plateau. I hated the plateau that I hit in September and I changed things around based on some plateau breaking ideas on a thread on this forum. Since you are continuing to lose inches I can only think that you are making muscle. The main thing is that your body shape is becoming nearer to that of your aspiration.
I can only dream of being just 21 pounds away from my target weight. I will consider myself lucky if I am in that position in three month's time.
Well done for sticking to your diet and doing all your exercise despite being full of germs.
Take care
Love

Hiya
All these points your burning on the treadmill are you taking them off your points eaten? just a thought
I think if you write everyting down for 2 full weeks and still havent lost anything go to your ww consultant and ask them for help
I know in slimming world they have a special diet for 1 week that you must really follow it, its really strict and they only give it out for people like you who have got a bit stuck maybe ww have something similar???
New year sounded great thats my sort of thing stay in watch tv its ideal and stay away fromm all those people with the bugs who insist on going out

So I've already done my 1.5 hours on the 'mill today. Feels so good! Situps and pushups, too, of course. Sometimes it is almost hard to stop, but obviously with a family I have other obligations!
The littles are excited as I have told them we will go check out a new skating rink tonight. We are meeting another Mom and her 2 girls there, so hopefully it will be fun. We have to rent skates, as we have none (how UN-Canadian!
I would like to get our family doing at least one activity together per week this new year, something physical. Our town is not quite big enough to offer all that I'd like, but we still have options. It looks like we can choose from swimming, skating, bowling, squash/racquetball. If we were made of money, we would all sign up for martial arts as a family, but we don't quite have that kind of cash! However, I may sign myself up for a Tai Chi course. We'll see. Hard to figure out my timetable.
Hope you are all well; sun is finally shining here!
cheers and happy losing! |

Well done with the exercise.
Have fun skating. I am sure that you will all have a great time. It's a brilliant idea doing a form of exercise / activity as a family.
Take care

Rep Power: 25 | | Happy Sunday! It has been a relaxed and lazy day. I took some STRONG cold medicine which knocked me out for a good couple of hours, made me feel much better. Then Mom and I watched the finale of Biggest Loser (I know, a couple of weeks late!) and now I am ready to tackle the 'mill for today. I will only stay on it for an hour tonight, as then I have to get the littles ready for bed and finally back to school tomorrow! Phew! Not a moment too soon, either It will be great to get back to a more regular schedule!
All for now, hoping that the scale will be my friend this week. I remain committed to LOSING IT!!!
Cheers

Rep Power: 25 | | Good morning, all.
Wow, my workout last night was STELLAR! I usually just switch off with fast walking on the incline and sit/push ups, but last night I decided I would also do some running during commercials. Running on a steep incline!!! It was CRAZY - and it felt sooooooooooooo good! I will do the same today. I cannot believe how sweat-inducing it was, and it made such a difference as far as endorphins go in my brain!
I can't go to work until this afternoon, so will do some cleaning & watch a show with DH before I work out today. Ironically, I am having actually a very good hair day , which is rare - but it will only last until my workout! *sigh*
All for now, more later

Rep Power: 25 | | HAPPY TUESDAY! Been a good one so far. I worked 4 hours, then came home and hit the 'mill for over an hour. I just cannot get over how charged up I am when I incorporate the running with the walking! I will slowly try and increase my time running. Today I also did 105 sit ups and 50 push ups (ok, 1/2 push-ups, the girlie-girl kind!)
I am hopeful that I may actually see a loss at weigh in on Friday, even though the dang scale has not moved in quite some time. But I will take no move better than moving in the wrong direction! I do feel good about how I look, and love the extra energy I seem to have, even with my evil cold.
Hope you are all well, striving to reach those goals!
Cheers
Janice

With all that running - I am absolutely convinced that you are going to break through that plateau this time. It is great that the exercise is making you feel so full of energy. I sometimes get so that I feel absolutely bursting with energy - I just want to jump up and dance or go out and walk. It is such a good feeling.
Take care
