Rep Power: 25 | | Yup, it ended up being a pretty sweet week, all right. my goal for this week is to bust through into the 150s!!! Now THAT will rock!
I ended up buying another 12 wks worth of WW meeting coupons (for about $175 Cdn - not cheap, that's for sure!!!) as I have not yet set my definite "goal weight" and I want freedom with that. At first I thought I would be content with 155, now I am thinking 150 to 145... I don't know. I am very curvy right now, which I really am delighted with, and it is important to me that my goal be sustainable, so I am thinking I might just keep going until no more comes off. My weight loss has s-l-o-w-e-d considerably, which I think must be a sign that I am nearly where my body is meant to be.
I am busy looking after 2 extra kids today, and have not had a chance to hit the mill yet. I plan on doing that from 4 to 5 pm, then a quick shower and off to church for 6. *phew!* A happy but tiring day.

Rep Power: 15 | | | Hi Abba! CONGRATS on the official marking of 50lbs lost!!! You inspire me, chica! And wow on the $$$ for WW! Do you feel like it's worth it? I've always wondered what a meeting might be like. I dunno. I have no money right now (saving for a wedding and moving is oh so fun) but maybe in the future. . .I dunno! |

Yes, I definitely DO think the price I pay for WW is worth it. Once I reach my goal and keep it for a few weeks, I become a lifetime member - never to pay again as long as I get weighed once per month and stay within 2 pounds of goal!
I have lost and gained weight before (on WW and other programmes) but have never "stuck with the programme", which I now see has been the problem! Getting weighed in every week has been helpful in keeping me on track, and the meetings are very motivational! I don't know if it is any cheaper to lose online with WW, but it might be an option.
I am quite sure simply counting calories and being aware of how many you need daily would be very effective, as well. I happen to like the points programme WW uses. It is just a simple, common sense approach to losing weight. I can eat absolutely any food I want - nothing is forbidden! However, that means that if I really want a brownie, I cut it in half (or smaller) and either share the other half or THROW IT IN THE TRASH.
I like the signature line I've read on this forum: "You've come too far to take orders from a cookie!"
Best wishes to all today. I have to head out to work but will get back on the mill once I am home. I worked last night, so I am veeeeery tired!
cheers

I've always thought about doing weight watchers, but I could never afford to, and I didn't think I'd learn as much about nutrition and what not with it as with calorie counting. But the main thing was that learning about calories was free. :P
But you look fantastic! Keep up the amazing work! |

Rep Power: 43 | | Great job Abba on your weight loss this far, I hope you can lose those last stubborn pounds with out really having to struggle for them, I know how it is. I'm pleased to see that weight watchers has worked for several people I know, it's really a great system. Good luck this week, and great job on the exercises.

Scale this a.m. showed 158. It teases me with that number! Here's hoping it sticks this week!
I have been enjoying a LOVELY day off from work today. I went to the mall and for a little retail therapy (I know it seems I do that lots, but it really is out of character! I think I have Spring fever - and a shrinking body ), got my (new) pants hemmed, picked up application forms for the school I want to put the girls in next year. We have had it with public schools in our town, and are switching up to private. EEEK! Guess I had better stop spending money on dumb old clothes and start saving for their schooling!
Then I got home just in time to hit the mill. Next comes a shower, then massive cleaning up, make dinner, and I am off for a special night with old chums from school.
Hope this finds you winning your battles today! ABBA |

Rep Power: 25 | | Methinks Aunt Flo is preparing for her visit. I am exceedingly tired, and very teary. Plus, the scale this morning showed me right back up at 161. Phooey! However, at least I know it is only temporary. I look forward to that grand day when I can begin maintaining! Whenever that day may be.
Today I went to work, then came home and worked out. In addition to my mill time and juice jug lifting, I have also added in situps. My waist is shrinking, but my belly has a little too much jelly on it to suit me!
All for now

Rep Power: 25 | | So what if I am ready to kill hubby? WW just weighed me in at 158 lbs!!! Now that changes a whole lot about my day, which started off *ahem* rather poorly. Did I mention DH lost yet another job? Well, let's just not talk about that. Better things are bound to be coming my way - like shrinking!
Off to work (someone has to bring home the low-fat bacon...)
cheers

Rep Power: 85 | | official weighing 158 pounds! congratulations
I am however sorry to hear the news about your hubby's employment. I remember when my hubby was made redundant - it did not make life less stressful. One of the first things that we did was go through the finances with a red pen and cut the bills where possible - we were sure that helped things a lot.
Hopefully your hubby will get sorted out with a new job really soon.
I think that the best thing is to focus on the fact that your health will be in excellent shape with all this weight loss, excellent nutrition and exercise. Given a choice between money and good health I think that we would all choose good health (granted the ideal thing is to have plenty of both).
Take care
Love
