Rep Power: 15 | | BIG congrats on your OFFICIAL weigh-in!!! That's just awesome
Sorry to hear about hubby's job. I'm sure that's making things a bit tight. But Omega is right - having good health is absolutely invaluable! The work you do for your body is worth more than any paycheck. That being said, I'll be keeping your family in my thoughts for quick acquisition of a new job for DH! |

Rep Power: 25 | | Whatever would I do without all of the support and encouragement I receive on this forum? Next to joining WW, this forum has been the best thing for me. It helps to keep me focused and inspired to do my best!
I worked all day today (with a headache, expecting Aunt Flo to arrive any minute) then came home and ... GOT ON THE MILL . Now I am sitting here in my sweaty clothes, having just put dinner in the oven, ready to fall into bed and not get up until Tuesday.
Good on me for doing what needs to be done.
cheers

Rep Power: 25 | | Thanks, NJ! It does feel good to know that I am still shrinking, even when I can't seem to see it, and even when my scale does not want to admit it! How my clothes fit seems to be a good indication.
I go to a site online where they have "virtual models" and I can view how my body has changed from the start of 211 to where I currently sit at 158, and even how I will look at a lower weight! It is very encouraging, and also a good eye opener of what would leave me looking waaaaaay too small. I definitely don't want to shrink away all my curves!!
DH has been very supportive lately, which is nice. He actually says he can't even remember ever seeing me so small, and has a hard time imagining me getting any smaller! He thinks I look terrific at my current weight. I am so thankful for his kind feedback. However, I am not yet satisfied, so I know I haven't met my goal yet.
Did my usual workout today. Had a lovely day off of work, whereby I did all manner of housework and grocery shopping, as well as having my Dad for dinner. He was tasty. tee hee! Anyway, Aunt Flo surely is my most annoying visitor right now. Yesterday the scale showed me right back up at 161 - and today it shows me right back down at 158. *Phew!* I doubt that there will be a loss this week - I seem to retain so much water!
All for now, DON'T GIVE UP!

We all get a TOM gain - ignore it - it is nothing to do with fat and will disappear naturally. Various people on the forum mention that exercise burns extra calories at TOM so you may want to focus on that at your sessions with the mill.
It is great that your hubby is making these supportive comments. Few hubbies find their wives trimmer than they ever remember them. I have some way to get to that stage (it will be great when I can wear my wedding ring again - I am sure that time will come this summer).
I am interested to hear of these virtual models. Surfing that site sounds like fun. Can you share the link with us so we can all have a play.
Take care
Love

Rep Power: 25 | | Worked all day, then came right home and did you-know-what. My workout is now more like 1 hour 20 min or 1.5 hours, as I am also back into sit-ups in addition to my walking/running and jug lifting. By the time I am over one hour, I figure heck! Why not make it 1.5? If there is nothing pressing to be done (like dinner, laundry, bathing children, helping with homework, etc.), I just go for it! And does it ever feel good to have my jeans slide right up over my hips without fighting or pulling! WHOOT! for me!
MARGARET: My Virtual Model- shopping online
Try that for getting to the virtual model site. It is really cool!
tomorrow I take my girls to see their new school, which they will be starting in Sept. My youngest one is thrilled, but the oldest thinks I am mean and nasty for pulling her away from her friends. Truth be told, that is one of the reasons we are making the change - but I would never tell her that. It breaks my heart to see how sad she is over not continuing school with her pals, but her Dad and I have the bigger picture in mind. Oh, if only parenting were easy! Hopefully we survive the day without too much trauma.
cheers

Rep Power: 25 | | Well, the 1/2 day at the new school seemed to go pretty well. No matter what, our oldest is going to struggle with our decision, so we just have to buckle up and hang on. She will come around in time, and we don't expect her to paste on a fake smile until she does. Mind you, we do insist that she maintain an attitude of respect towards us (Aren't you glad I'm not YOUR Mum? hee hee)
I worked a couple of hours this morning, then raced up to get the girls and have a tour, then raced back to drop them at their current school. Then I needed a nap! I am just exhausted today, I think emotionally as much as well as physically. So as soon as I got up I headed down to the dungeon to watch Dr. Phil while sweating on the 'mill! Ummm...that would be ME on the mill, rather than the good doctor!
I'd love to think I will show a loss this week on the scale, but I don't see one so far. I seem to be that way, though - lose then stop. Lose then stop. The good news is that if I just keep doing what I am doing, I continue to lose eventually!
cheers

Rep Power: 25 | | Got a lengthy note from our eldest daughter promising to never forgive me and threatening to run away if we make her change schools. I am officially ready to tender my resignation from motherhood. Who knew it could hurt so much. |

Fortunately you were already aware that you cannot please all the people all of the time.
I am sure that she will continue protesting for quite a while - but fortunately adults get to make the decisions and they know that they have to consider the bigger picture.
Things should quieten down when she has made some friends at the new school. Is there any way that you can facilitate that? - e.g. do you know anyone with kids there or is there any way that you can get to know them by attending local church events to the school / pta fundraisers etc.
Well done for keeping up the exercise and staying firm. You are right - keep doing what you are doing and you will get where you want to be.
Thanks for the link - I have had a play at turning me now into fat me and hopefully future slim me. I still like slim me best. I'd better keep on walking too then!
Take care
Love

Rep Power: 15 | | Hey ABBA! Lord I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's reaction to the new school. Then again, I'm sure I did equally nasty things to my mom when I was younger. Kids are really good at adapting to new situations. . . .I'm impressed with you and your hubby with sticking to it!
I'm also impressed with your hour to 1.5 hour workouts! That's awesome Because I do mine in the morning, I usually don't get more than 30 minutes to 45 but I try to do more on the weekends. You go girl! |

She will grow and as she grows she will grow to appreciate you both more. It just takes time and she will adjust too. That also takes time.
best wishes

Rep Power: 10 | | Hey Janice.... long time I haven't been arround. I am a lousy writer and one of the reasons to start a diary just now is that I am always afraid that I can upset people not visiting them regularly or not responding in time.
HOWEVER... WOW - don't you look amazing??? I am very pleased to discover that there is a milieu of success stories arround which let's be honest is not typical with chubby ladies. Soon you will be hitting your gaol and we will be facing maintenance phase together! Great!
P.S. Parenting problems are absolute terra incognita for me. I can speak on behalf of the child only and I will assure you that things will settle soon but be kind to her because she feels everything and everyone is hostile to her now. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
