Rep Power: 0 | | Your diary is great and I can relate to you since we started out at the similar weights, and are pretty close in our current weight! I have a lot more to read but so far it's very encouraging! |

Rep Power: 25 | | Hi there JennaRenee! Thanks for stopping by my diary! I am pleased that you find it encouraging. Good luck with your WL journey!
Well, last night was boot camp using the yoga ball. LOL and what a hilarious misadventure that was! I learned that I have virtually NO core muscles! Everyone else could stay on their ball except me! It was...er...humbling. At least I like a good laugh!
Today I did my 'mill workout first thing, then volunteered at my kids' school for the morning, and then walked to work for my 5 hour shift, followed by the walk home. Now we are off to do a MAJOR grocery shop to stock our empty fridge and cupboards...and to pick up some chow for our camping trip tomorrow! Hope the bears aren't too hungry!
cheers

Rep Power: 25 | | Well, we survived camping! Now we've been bitten by the camping bug and are going to be on the lookout at garage sales for camping equipment...I think it is a great way to spend "family time" away from all of our modern technology.
The only downside was when one of the friends we were camping with decide to go off on his own and scale a cliff. He got about 35 feet up and then the rock he was on broke, and down he came. We had to wait at least an hour for the rescue crew and then the ambulance. Thanks be to God he did not break his neck! He did, however, break his ankle and get some pretty nasty lacerations. He was in shock but never lost consciousness. It was very upsetting to all of us, especially his family! Mind you, they did say they were used to this sort of thing with him. I guess he has previously broken his neck, both wrists, and some other parts. He is a rather...interesting fellow! Lots of fun, but obviously never quite grew up, if you get my drift.
So, once the rescue vehicles finally found us, they took him off to hospital where he immediately had surgery and will now be sporting large metal pins, plates, and screws in his leg. A painful reminder as arthritis sets in when he gets older (IF he gets any older!), and sure to make trips through airport security more interesting!
Our family and one other friend still stayed overnight, and really enjoyed it, after drinking a good bit of red wine to calm our frazzled nerves. The weather was overcast, but we got in a great hike to the waterfalls, whereby we climbed 391 stairs to get to the lookout!!! It's a good thing, too, because after eating S'MORES all night, I surely need to work out!! Speaking of which, it is time to hit that mill.
Thanks for reading about my adventures!

Rep Power: 25 | | Well, today I walked to work again and got on the mill for my usual hour afterwards. It feels so good to be healthy! I ate too much salty stuff during our camping escapade, so am not too sure how things will pan out for me at the scales this week. Today still showed me at 154. Tomorrow night is my bikini bootcamp once again...
Today I tried on so many pairs of pants and skirts that have been lurking in my drawers & closet. It was SHEER BLISS as they fell right off me! LOL What a way to cheer a gal up when that dang scale seems to be stuck! Also I measured my waist last night, and it is down to 29 inches! Nice.
All for now

Rep Power: 25 | | Another greathorrible bootcamp! boy she makes us work! I am annoyed that my scale is once again showing NO loss for all my efforts, so I simply just have to keep concentrating on my "health" as opposed to my weight. I have to believe that more pounds will come off as long as I just keep on faithfully exercising and managing my eating.
Today our eldest daughter "graduates" from elementary school. This means that she is entering Middle School/Jr. High in Sept. So hard for us to believe that she is growing up already! I have been able to spend more time one-on-one with her lately, and both my DH and I have noticed a change in her as a result. I think she really craves it, and I simply have to give it. I am so tired much of the time and feel so stretched, but my kids just have to come first!
Take care all, and keep on going!!!

Rep Power: 25 | | Well, another beautiful day! Another hour on the 'mill. I am wondering if I should start incorporating more resistance training into my workout, but am not sure how, as I don't want to join a gym. I am thinking of resistance bands, but wonder how effective they are?
tomorrow I will walk to and from work, do my workout, and also go back to evilsuper bootcamp.
cheers

Rep Power: 85 | | Why not PM Steve for advice regarding your workout? He always seems to be helpful and gives good practical advice. I am sure that he could suggest something for you that would be really effective without going down the simple "join a gym" approach.
I have to say - congratulations on the 29 inch waist. That is truly brilliant! Here's to finding all our clothes miles too big!
I get similar comments from people to what you are getting from the girls at work. My weight is at the top end of normal and people clearly think that I should lose no more (they have been making these comments for a while now too). The way I see it - if there is a normal range of weights we should be able to pick where in that range we feel the most comfortable (like the people who have always been skinny do). We shouldnt be made to feel like we ought to stop just because we no longer look as chubby as we once did.
The camping sounds lots of fun (with just a little hint of danger thrown in). Some people seem to attract danger. It sounds like your friend is one of those people.
You are still doing great with the bootcamp (and mill of course). You will be a gold member before you know it. |

Rep Power: 25 | | As usual, thanks for making me feel so good, Margaret! You really are a treasure I find it weird that any other person besides my doctor would even OFFER an opinion on how much weight I should lose! Truly, it is no one's business but my own. I think there are many reasons (even some that folks themselves may not be aware of) why other people can get "uncomfortable" with our weight loss.
I simply do NOT feel like getting on that mill today! I walked to and from work and have bootcamp tonight. The fact that I absolutely do not want to do it, though, makes me think I had better get changed and get on there. *sigh* I have thoroughly enjoyed the last hour of my day, sitting happily and lazily on my couch, watching tv and typing on my 'puter! It is not often I have the opportunity to spend time by myself without actually *doing* anything, and since today is the last day my kids will be in school before the looooong summer, I decided to just enjoy myself! If only I had a vehicle at my disposal, I would have really lived it up! hee hee
Cheers

Rep Power: 85 | | I suspect that people have been used to feeling good about their figure next to us (you know the idea - "I carry a few extra pounds but can never look fat if Margaret is there too - she makes me look slim next to her"). They may not be aware that they think like that - but I suspect that it is something like that. The very notion of me weighing the same as them or even possibly less than them is something that they are not keen on. I really dont think that it is on purpose or they know that they are doing it though!!!
The funny thing is that the same people who tell you not to lose any more weight will I am sure tell you how brilliant you look when you lose some more weight. People that were telling me that I shouldnt lose any more a stone ago are telling me that I look great now! Where is the logic???
I can fully understand your desire to become a WW leader - and you know the weight that you need to attain to do this. You have become quite an expert in weightloss over the time - and your experience will inspire people like we were to make their dreams come true. Although I suspect that it would never provide a major income stream - I think that it would be enjoyable and provide a definite element of job satisfaction. You know how important it is for us all to feel comfortable with our bodies.
It is great that you have devoted much of yesterday to "you". I suspect that will be your last opportunity for "me-time" for the summer. Well done for determining to force yourself into your exercise routine. This is the attitude that is making your dreams come true.
It is Friday - so good luck at the WW scales for this week. |

Rep Power: 25 | | HAPPY CANADA DAY!!! Our weather is ridiculous lately. It cannot decide to be sunny & blisteringly hot or overcast and muggy with thunderheads all around. I just hope we have decent weather for the fireworks tonight!
Just finished housecleaning, going out for a nonfat latte with bootcamp instructor soon. Then we are off to visit DH's family, who have moved ever closer to us, as was inevitable. *sigh* Oh well. I had better make the best of it. I do want our girls to grow up knowing their extended family, even as they slowly drive me insane.
Tonight is bootcamp at 5:30. until you have done a brutal workout in the blistering heat, you just don't know how truly awful it is!!! I'd better take extra water bottles...
Cheers

The heat can sometimes hamper your workout (i've felt the effects of it before), good luck!
