Rep Power: 25 | | LOL glad you enjoyed my "tough love" Umbra! hee hee
The last week has certainly been a challenge. I ran out of my thyroid meds and went without for about 5 days - and what a scary hormonal roller coaster! omgosh, my poor Dh. It did not help that I was also PMS (yes, that dang unwelcomed Aunt Flow is here once again). I have chewed my nails down to nubs and consumed more junk over the last 2 days than in the last 2 months, I am sure. *sigh* However, I have absolutely been a maniac in my workouts, so have not been slacking in that regard.
Financial pressure is great currently, as I'm sure many of you can attest to! This means that I am not attending WW meetings weekly these days ($16 per mtg!) but more like every 2 wks. I totally expected to be far past my goal by this time. but I have no one to blame other than myself. I will say that I am totally enjoying being 150 lbs and a size 5/6. I like what I see in the mirror! I like sweating excessively during workouts and seeing my body continue to reshape itself (my own brother did not recognize me last week, for pete's sake! ), even though the scale is not reflecting as much as I want.
So I am still happy with what I have achieved, and am ever grateful for this fantastic forum!
cheers

Rep Power: 10 | | what the heck goes on at your meetings that you need to pay 16$ a week for them? Also let us hope you never run out of meds while aunt flo is visiting ever again. also to heck with what the scale says we all know it's how your body feels and what the measurements say that counts. |

Rep Power: 25 | | Here, here! Great advice, Lady.
The reason I find the meetings beneficial is generally simply the support. It is encouraging to me to see others who have lost weight and kept it off successfully (as this is FAR from my own first journey with losing weight) and I think it is also beneficial for me to be able to encourage others just starting out, or those who may be struggling with discipline, etc. Plus, I am just very dang social!!! LOL My DH would roll his eyes and nod his head at that one.
I am not even weighing myself while Aunt flo is visiting. Actually, very oddly, she did not show up that day in her entirety. But today I am sure she will. Otherwise, omg, there might be a real surprise!!! LOL Not too likely, but I would surely let everyone know if that were the case.
All for now

I finally made it over to your diary to catch up on what has been happening for you since I last visited. It is great the way that the scale is coming down nicely for you - dont worry about the Aunt Flo thing - we all get that - generally the scale is so far down it is silly. It is brilliant that you are getting numbers in the 140s now. It is so lucky that reunions are all happening for you at a time when your figure is one that you feel really good about showing off.
The new photo is great. Missing the odd WW meeting is not hindering your progress when you get results like that. It will be no time before they are paying you to go to WW meetings when you start leading them.
It is great that the kids like their new school. It is no time since you were concerned as to how they would react to the change back towards the end of last term.
You are bound to be really busy with plans for the move. When we last moved I found it well worth making a list on the computer of exactly what was in each box and numbering the boxes. You never seem to get the boxes unpacked nearly as quickly as you think that you will and it is worth knowing so that you look in the right box for the item that you need. Making an inventory of the freezer contents and running them down to nothing in the weeks leading up to the move was also well worth-while. Eating your way through the stockpile is another thing that seems to take a lot longer than you think it will.
Take care
Love

Rep Power: 25 | | Hi Margaret! Thanks for stopping by with such great advice on moving. *sigh* It appears that we will be staying put until May, as the housing market has gone soft here after a few years of climbing ridiculously. That is great news for us in that we will be able to purchase at a lower price; but since our buying is dependent upon my Mom's selling, things are rather sticky at the moment. So we will just stay here until our lease runs out in May, then if we can't purchase we will move to another rental, but closer to our daughters' school.
Our rent has gone up by $300/mo, + now we are paying $350/mo for the girls' schooling, + the school is at the other end of town with no bus, which means we are paying through the nose for gas!!! Ahh, such is life. We do feel very pleased and that we made the right decision sending them to this other school, so it is worth the financial burden.
I finally did get my monthly visitor, after some nail-biting days of wondering if I was you-know-what! LOL So I won't bother to weigh myself for a good few days. I did my full workout (and then some) today, in spite of feeling tired and crampy. YAY ME!!
Kid #2 has been home sick with a nasty cold these last 2 days, meaning that my plans have all been put on hold. Gotta love being a Mum! She is such a dear child I relish the extra time wit her, truth be told.
All for now

Rep Power: 25 | | It is SO gorgeous today! Absolutely beautiful, sunny and warm. So after doing all of my abs work indoors and getting in a good 6,000 steps, I took it outside and R*A*N* like a sonofgun okay, I must have looked like I was dying, because people were STARING! lol It was a good change in my routine, anyway. I was in a pretty good sweat by the time I got home, so I was pushing pretty hard, all right. If the weather holds I will aim to do more outdoor running, soaking up the vitamin D while I still can.
Happily when I weighed afterwards the scale showed 147 again. Not that I think for one single minute that is now my current weight - but it was my weight at that very moment, which is good enough for me.
cheers

Rep Power: 25 | | GIVING THANKS IN A BIG WAY! Last night we were out for dinner, and my oldest daughter started choking on her roast beef. We didn't think much of it; she had been laughing and joking around. Then she jumped up from the table clutching her throat and I suddenly paid attention! I asked her if she could breathe and she shook her head. Her eyes were absolutely terrified! So I jumped up behind her and and performed the Heimlich - AND OUT POPPED THE OFFENDING PIECE!
Holy...you might say it scared the roast beef out of us It was very, very scary. I was still shaking today thinking how close we came to losing her over something so simple. At work I mentioned it to the receptionist, and she said her grandfather choked to death in a restaurant in Germany! Then she told one of the other gals what had happened to us, and that gal said that over the summer her daughter was working at a restaurant and one of the waitresses started to choke. Typically for a female, she excused herself to the rest room...and they found her there on the floor several minutes later. She was just 27 - and she did not make it.
So no weight news today, just a very full heart. |

Rep Power: 25 | | Happy Monday! It is a gorgeous sunny Fall day and have already done my workout + a run outside, so I feel good. Writing down what I eat, and doing a check on the calories in addition to just the WW points. I did not go to WW this past week (due to finances) but will go this week. I am curious to know how many calories I'm consuming. I remain somewhat frustrated by the scale refusing to budge in a more permanent manner.
All for now, time for housecleaning and then off to get business cards made up for my MT biz.
Cheers

Rep Power: 25 | | Happy Wednesday! No change on the scale, but happy to fit into teeny tiny bluejeans! Truly these are tiny, and I am pretty impressed! They sat in my drawer for a couple of months, and I would pull them out and try them on. Now they fit quite well, which is funny since I have not shed one single pound. Mind you, I think all of my exercising is continuing to shrink me!

My job tonight was to supply the broccoli meringue and sweet potato casserole. I had my girls each bake a simple dessert. Mum supplied turkey, stuffing, other veggies. Oh, and I brought the wine! Dad brought pumpkin pie & whipping cream and the whole thing was MMM-MMMM GOOD! It felt wonderful receiving so many comments from friends & family who haven't seen me in 50 lbs! I enjoyed every bite, and didn't even overeat!
I do indeed have much to be thankful for!
Cheers
