YEEHA!!! Thanks for all your good wishes! This week I apparently lost another 3 pounds! I am smokin! Well, not really..but you know what I mean. Feels so good!
Hope you are all having a great week; I am off to work.
I hope your workday goes well. Congrats on more weight lost, it sounds like you're on a roll right now. we must keep pushing foreward before impending holidays trap us.

Ain't that the truth, Lady. I loooove baking, esp. for Christmas: gingersnaps, butter tarts, brownies, sugar cookies...oh, and let's not forget EGGNOG, that staple of Christmas drink! My daughters like to bake with me; they have their own aprons too! So it is a good thing I seem to have my sweet tooth under control. As long as I get in adequate protein (plus drown in all of the water, apple cider vinegar, whey shakes, and coffee that I drink daily) I am not overly tempted with the sweets these days. That is also one reason I really enjoy the WW programme; I truly can eat whatever I want, so long as I alot for it. Everything counts, so I just make sure I reaaaaally want a sweet, and eat a small portion of it. I have been known to cut my brownies in half, as well as truly serving up "a sliver" of cake (much to the disappointment of my kids & DH!).
MARGARET:
I think a while back you asked about me drinking the Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV). From what I have read, it is supposed to help restore your body to more of an alkaline balance, thereby helping to reduce inflammation. I can tell you that, after drinking it 2x daily for the last 4 days or so, my shingles pain is virtually nil! This is a great relief. I realize the pain would diminish on its own, but it is interesting how it has coincided with the ACV, and so quickly! It is also to help with my arthritis, among other things. I am also taking kelp in the hopes that it may help with my hair loss.
Hi Margaret
My sympathies to your beloved regarding gout. I had it after the birth of my first child, AND IT WAS HORRID! Very painful whenever any sheets or clothing rubbed over my skin. Unbelievable. I was just 26 at the time, and not overweight. Looking back, that is one of the first things in my body that went wonky and makes me think lupus may be behind everything! At any rate, ACV is purported to be helpful for gout; I don't know, as I have (thankfully) not had gout again. But ACV is very cheap, which is nice. You should read up on it a bit, in case there are contraindications against taking it with certain health problems.
CONGRATS on the 3 pds down, YEAH!!! Your doing so good!! I love baking also, so the holidays are so much fun for me! I figure if I work out really hard and maybe throw in an extra day of exercise the week of baking, it will be alright if I nibble a little here and there. LOL LOL
I will certainly do some reading up as you suggest.
My poor husband has been getting gout since he was in his twenties. It is a real nuisance for him. It has caused damage to not just his toes - but the side of his foot and ankle too. Walking awkwardly has caused damage to his knees too - so it means that long distance walking isnt really an option for him to help him to lose weight. He really pushes himself to walk a bit with me most days.
Well, a great day so far. I went for a good walk after dropping the littles off at school, then stopped by my Mum's place and picked her up for our daily walk together. After that, we came home to watch Biggest Loser. So inspirational. I really enjoy that show, though I know not everyone does.
Today I work from 3-11, so I am just enjoying the peace and quiet of my empty house at the moment. It is relatively tidy and I only have laundry on the go. This morning I took a good hour or so and tried on EVERY pair of pants, skirt, dress, and shorts that I still own. By the time I was done, I had a laaaaarge pile to go to the consignment store! I am only keeping a couple of pieces from my starting weight, so I can take a pic of myself with them once I reach goal and show all of you! I bought a dress for DH Christmas party, and it is a SIZE 10 , which feels stupendous! It is snug but not too tight, and I will feel glam in it when I wear it for Dec. 1.
I hope I have lost another pound or so this week. I'd like to be down another 4 or 5 by CHristmas, when we see all of hubby's relatives whom we haven't seen since August.
I envy you the confidence to send your "big" clothes to charity. I dont dare - I have had so many failed diets that I do not dare part with them in case it tempts fate.
It is great that you have bought a super new dress. I bet you look great in it.
I am still a long way from where I need to be - but I have tried to post a few pictures in my diary following your request.
Oh that's wonderful and NEW DRESS, I bet your going to look FAB in it and everyone will be drooling. And YES, please take some pics, we would love to see the accomplishment you have made. WAY TO GO ON getting to a 10 hot diggity, that's almost an 8. WOOOEEEE, go girl!!
Kim
Down another half pound, meaning I am now at 176 (from a start of 211) and have reached the 35 pound mark in earnest! Feels great; hoping for a bigger loss this next week. I will get back to tracking my food in order to keep myself accountable. I have come too far to turn back to bad, unhealthy habits now! Especially with the season of overindulgence rapidly approaching...I am sooo glad I changed my lifestyle when I did! God has blessed me.
cheers to all!
