amazing work!! I am so proud of you!
You want a little confession... I have only eaten in fast food places twice in my life... once McD and once Burger King. My friends keep saying they crave McD and I don't want to be the weirdo so I am like, "yeah man, me too... what I wouldn't give for a McCheeseBurger!"
Well, I have eaten on many occasions pizza (mainly from the supermarket but like 3 or 4 times from pizza hut), so I guess that could count as fast food too...
You know if you make yourself a burger it isn't even that bad for you!! Use less meat, and more lettuce and tomato, use whole wheat bread and that ultra light mayo and very little ketchup and tada: the perfect hamburger!!
And if you cut and bake some chips (french fries) they are not that high in cals either! Just don't fry them!! And very little salt but I think you are right on track with that !

Love, Cat | Thanks Cat, I think you are making a great choice by faking the crave lol. It is definatly not worth the resulting weight gain and health effects. I guess you could say at over 450lbs I am walking supersize me documentry. I grew up with a single mom who worked her but off when I was really little to keep a roof over our head ect as my dad was a deadbeat loser. Fast food became a reality for her that would allow us to spend some time together. That coupled with the cheep foods like Mac and Cheese and hotdogs and homeade french fries quickly became the staples of our diet. To her credit she had no idea of the negative effects these foods would have in the long run. Until I was 7 or 8 it didn't seem to matter but at age 8 I started to ballon and by then it was too late for her to stem the tide so to speak. I am going to do my best to stay completely away from fast food myself from now on.
Thanks for the really supportive post. Posts like this one are really helping me stick to the program which is exactly why I joined out here. I didn't realize just how supportive it would be though. |

I am really happy actually and success in this battle makes the other things more managable.
I do like a good scolding though lol | You know... they have this powder that is a substitute for veggies if you really hate them. You can sprinkle it into foods... soups, etc. You don't neccessarily have to eat "raw veggies" to get the benefits. You can eat them steamed, placed in soups/ stews, etc.
As for the scolding.... hell, I'm the woman for the job! hahaa Have a great day at work you.

Another way to get your vegetables is to stir fry them.
Veg I use for this are onions, peppers, courgettes, mushrooms.
I also have been known to use spinach, runner beans, bean sprouts - it can depend on what is there.
You dont need to use lots of fat. I get a spray called Fry light and I am sure that if it isnt available over there - something very similar will be.
You shake it up and supposedly just spray it 4 times on the pan and cook. Now I admit that I do squirt it nearer 10 times - but it is only 1 calorie per spray.
Now that pan can cook enough veg for my husband and myself a main meal with left overs when mixed with a pan of rice or pasta. Give it a bit of a stir every now and again to make sure that it doesnt stick.
I often put in a jar of some tomato based sauce for about 100 calories after the veg is cooked.
Now I can let you know that we do not have small appetites in this house.
My husband is over 350 pounds and back in February I was 294 pounds so you can see that the 2 lettuce leafs and we are full concept is not the case in this house.
Give it a try - you never know you may find it palatable.
Take care

Rep Power: 8 | | Thanks everyone I will do my fitday latter but it will be a rough estimate as I have had an incredibly insane day today. What I procive to be a possible eviction notice and family madness ahs insued and emotionally it has taken all I have not to either punch someone in the head or eat 4 large pizzas. Obviously this is some of the personal stuff I mentioned in abouve posts. I am off to weigh myself here at work and will be back with the results and a rough estimate fitday soon.
p.s. if any of you believe in God please pray for me today and if you don't please send any and all good thoughts my way I can use any and all help as I seriously am having a mental melt down. I will probably post on here a hundred times today as roving this site helps keep my mind off my life. |

Rep Power: 31 | | Awww.... an emotional eater are we? Well, if anything, you know I'm sending my prayers your way, doll. I hope things will get better for you and those effected. I need to run a few errands, then head to the gym, but I'll be back online later. If I'm around and you need to vent, let a bitch know.

Rep Power: 8 | | well I thought I would be done getting rid of water per se but I must be wrong. I got a lot of activity in yesterday and I sweated all day long as apposed to today where I have not been able to even start getting steps in yet but finally there is some good news today. I weighed in at 440.5 lbs so that is another 4lb day. I know they are going to stop and I even think there will be a rebound day like I will gain 2 or 3 lbs back tommorow or the next day when my body water works itself out but I will take the loss today I needed somthing to keep my away from the damn bridge at this point. I am going up to the weight room after I get my steps in for the day and I am going to punish the heavy bag that is hanging in there. |

Rep Power: 43 | | AHHHHH 4lbs DAMN that is a good week. I have all I can do to get .5 down, LOL You should be proud, and with the way your going, your going to be meeting that goal weight for sure. Did I read that right, you don't like veggies?? NONE?? just wondering if there are any out there at all that you do like? I LOVE VEGGIES so it makes me giggle when I hear of others who don't. MY hubby being one of those. LOL LOL You mentioned being raised by a single mom, I raised my twin boys pretty much on my own, so I know oh to well how that story goes, it's really hard, but did it make you closer to your mom?? just curious. We moved out of town about 4 years ago, so luckily we don't live close to any fast food places, so we rarely get fast food, your right when in town if you pass by it every day it has got to be hard. Keep on rocking, because your doing a really good job so far!! CONGRATS!

Thanks actually its 3.5lbs since yesterday. Since Joining here last thursday I think it was I am down 9.5lbs but as I have posted I know a lot of it maybe all of it is water from my fastfood diet lol I am still happy though I don't care its a sign I am back on the right track. Took me a year to lose a little over 50lbs and I am almost back to that mark and can start diggin into the next 50.
No I like veggies actually but I like them cooked and don't have the time to really make that happen. I have been eating a pepper a day in my chicken wraps for the last couple days though.
Yeah my mom is my idol to be honest she has since had a lot of hardships in life and is a pretty bad alcoholic but she is still #1 IN MY BOOK and always will be. |

Rep Power: 43 | | Don't FRET, my mom is a recovering alcoholic of hmmmm maybe 15-20 years now, but she was always messed up when I was younger, I guess that's what made me such a GOOD STRONG MOMMA myself. I didn't want my kids to go through what I did, or see what I did for that matter. But, maybe yours too will soon see that, and make a turn for the better, I say Prayers and Hope are a BIG concept in my own life. Your a GOOD SON in my book! I hope mine feel the same way when they are older, right now, I'm just bossy, yelling old mom. LOL They turn 18 October 8th. Oh by the way, I buy carrots and clean them at night, put them cut in half in the fridge in a large container full of water, and I bring them to work with me, they are cold and crisp and yummy. If you like carrots try that. I'm a fruitoholic too.
Have a good night!
