Rep Power: 8 | | | Need2BSmaller's Journal Well I guesss this is the best place to start. I am getting ready to start back at trying to lose some weight tommorow. I know people say always start on a monday but I am so pissed at myself after weighing in at 450lbs today I can wait.
In the last year I went from 488lbs to under 430lbs just to put it all back on in the last month. I am a full time student and also work full time and it has caught up to me with 20 of the lbs I lost.
I am back on program tommorow and will see how it goes.
My Starting plans will be to eat 3 meals and 3 snacks approx 3 hours apart and go for a walk in the morning. I will be walking everyday and lifting weights MON WED and FRI. I also use fitday to track what I eat so to keep track I will try and post that out here as well.
I don't want to cus but in all honesty I am really @#$%^&* tired of being so fat and have had enough off losing weight just to put it on again. No more I am extreamly unhappy with many aspects of my life and try to fake like I am not. People don't know, not even those close to me but I am at a fork in the road and one path is "weight Loss" and the other is "death". I am trying to go down the right one hope this board can help |

Rep Power: 12 | | Good luck on your journey. Many people are in the same boat as you are so you came to the right place. I'll try to give you a little insight because I know how it feels to lose weight and gain it back. I lost nearly 70 Lbs and I gained it all back and then more, I gained 90 Lbs after. I was sooooooo upset that I said screw it, enough is enough....
Don't start tomorrow, start tonight, go for a walk. Nothing is stopping you, even if it's only 20 minutes. When you eat food, remember a few things, if it's colorful, it's good for you (mostly pink cotton candy does not count haha)
stop drinking anything that's not water!! Water is the fuel of weight loss. If you have a craving for some junk food, ask yourself if it's really a craving or is there another reason you want it. If it's another reason, deal with it and your craving will go away. If it's still there, drink a ton of water. Then give into your craving, but do it in moderation. (I cheat too, but when I do cheat I make sure to get in a bit more activity)
Finally, push yourself (make sure it's safe though, if your not sure ask a physician) I do more and more all the time, I go as hard as I can, then I go even harder later. I keep pushing the limit.... Yes I was sore when I first started, now I'm not... the soreness goes away in time, or you get used to it..
Good luck, seek people's advice, I'm no expert here so I might not be giving the best info, just what I was able to take from this journey.
ohh one more thing, NOBODY can tell you it's not possible, don't listen to them, it's amazing what people can do with the proper motivation. |

Rep Power: 8 | | Thanks Biggreen Thanks Big I did walk today. I just have to go grocery shopping after work is all. I have been living on fast food as I am literally home for 1hr a day that I am not sleeping. The walk is what made me weigh myself. I can only wiegh myself at work on the shipping scale cause regular scales don't go high enough. I went for a walk for the first time in 2 months and could not even make it 1k. I was walking 3k's everyday in July.
I use to not be able to walk at all last year, thats what got me started in the first place. I drive a fork truck at work and when I would go to the store or whatever I would have to use the scooters. I was just getting to the point where I was walking pretty good and my knees, feet and back were not killing me everyday now they are sore as heck again but I am getting back at it no matter what. I am done living this way I swear and thanks for the advice. I talk to my dr. regularly so he is aware of my situation although he will be not happy when I see him next and he sees I am putting this weight back on I am sure.
thanks again for the help and incouragment |

Rep Power: 31 | | Damn you're quick. haha I just responded to your intro post and you already have a diary up and running. Niceeee.. I know you said your doctor will probably be angry at you for gaining, but hey... we all slip, but luckily for you, you caught yourself in time before gaining everything back. Look at things from a positive perspective and you'll be successful with your weight loss. Good luck.

I am trying not to slip myself. I went for a forty minute walk today. Which was pretty good seeing as I was not in the mood, but afterwards felt awesome!
Good for you for going on the walk, you werent able to do what you did before, but you will be able to in time!
Like Sheryl said, keep a positive perspective and don't get discouraged, or don't stop if you do get discouraged, like from plateaus ..
I wish you the best
and will come here to find out how fantastic your doing!
Good job on not gaining all the weight back ...
best wishes
always

natalie jo | thanks very much and that is awsome that you walked when you didn't feel like it. I have a hard time with that always. When I feel crapy I hide in bed lol not good I know but 34 years of habit I guess. Thanks for the support I appreciate it. I am really feeling better since posting here I am so glad I found this forum. |

Rep Power: 8 | | OK so after surfing the forum for a bit I remembered a couple things. One I bought Bob Greens Best Life Diet Book a while back read it and thought hmmm seems good but I was losing weight already and didn't want to mess with success. It seems like just the kind of program I can use right now so I will be starting that tommorow.
Also to add to that I will be starting to use the walk away the lbs videos I have. I find them better then walking outside at first cause when I get to sore I can pause them, then start them again and make sure I get the whole mile in.
I will also be lifting weights with a starter circuit workout I was doing before. It's nothing crazy about 30 mins to 45 mins MOn,Wed and Fri. This is actually my favorite part of a healthy life style and I can't wait for monday to get here just thinking about it.
Thanks for all your support already I am so glad I found this place. i was posting on another board and it helped but they blocked it at work because it had pics of body builders in shorts and that was not acceptable so I think this is my new home now
repps to all for your help although with my 0 rep power I don't know what good they will be
thanks again |

Rep Power: 20 | | | Good Luck to ya!
It's still very early in my journey, but I find this sight highly motivating. FOlks are friendly and honest, and share alot of important tips. I think the beginning is the hardest- but your already taken the first step. WIth each new change you make to become healthier, it will be a challenge but once you get over the hump, it becomes much easier. I started out only walking 3 times a week a little over a month ago, but now work out 6 days a week, for 30 minutes minimun and actually WANT to work out on my ski machine. Oh, its still hard to get on it early in the morning, but that is the hardest part- once im on it, Im in the groove. I hope you find similiar success!

As for feeling down... bah... there's no need for that around here. You've found a forum where everyone's here to help one another. I'm glad you've been roaming the site and posting like a mad man. I've found, from personal experience, that keeping up with posting at the forum really helps you to keep your goals in mind. If you're ever bored or need a little pick-me-up, drop on by my diary and say "hi." I'm always around the site being a pain in the ass. haha Hope you have a great weekend, doll.
