Rep Power: 43 | | Good Afternoon Margaret!! Plugging along so well as usual I see! How's the walking going?? Meeting anymore nice and interesting passersby?? Do you walk to same path each day?? How about the seasons do you have them there?? Do you see the trees change colors or snow to sunny weather? I'm not real familiar with your area, so thought I would be a little inquisitive today. LOL LOL
Hope your day is a great one!
Love

I resemble myself when young more than myself a couple of years ago - although naturally in an aged state. You wouldnt possibly think that people could connect you easier with your face from 25 to 30 years ago compared to 2 years ago
| I remember thinking something very similar, except in reverse. I was trying to find a picture of me that looked like me - but none of them did any more! It is nice to find something more like our old selves underneath isn't it? |

Rep Power: 89 | | Hi teamie! Yes, I've checked out Shannon..lol. I'm always aware of the cute young blokes around here, never fear. And my H's advice to him would be, "stop whinging and get your arse to the gym, lad!"
I hope you can persuade H to take better care of his health. It must be very frustrating to be doing so well yourself, and having H in denial. Hopefully he'll see the light soon. |

The walking is going pretty well and according to schedule. I bumped distances up a little in January (when my weight loss seized up a bit - always my first reaction to hitting anything like a plateau) and down when I hit 11.5 stone. When I hit 11 stone I will bump distances down again to what I was doing in early January! In February I walked 329 miles. I am on 55 miles so far for February - but it is early days.
I do still meet quite a few people who introduce themselves to me and say that they have noticed what I am doing. I think that one or two people introduce themselves to me in this way each week. I suppose that I have got a bit used to the idea now because it does happen quite regularly.
I do tend to walk the same paths each day - but I change around the order a little. That adds some variation and more importantly - allows me to get to things on time. I incorporate getting to my classes on Monday, Tuesday and Friday into my walk - and need to be at a particular place at a set time. I like to keep to the same basic paths because I have measured it out with the car and I know that - even if the pedometer doesnt work properly - once I have walked it completely it is done.
We do have seasons here - but our seasons are nothing like the extremes that I realise that you all contend with. We havent had any snow this winter. The worst that we have had is a morning frost causing the grass to have a white appearance and the paths to be a bit slippery. It has certainly been cold - sometimes more so than others. Similarly our summers rarely get too hot. In autumn the trees did change colour and the leaves were crunchy underfoot - the spring buds are now appearing on the trees and bushes. We do however get rain - particularly whenever we dont want it - pretty much all year round. Some countries have months that they know they will get no rain. It is either too hot and they never see rain or too cold and if there is anything it will be snow. There is not a single date in the year where it is unlikely for us to get rain. My worst complaint about the English weather is that I hate looking and feeling like a drowned rat. Felici
It is strange how weight changes our faces so dramatically. You wouldnt think that it would but it does. Dawn
I agree with you about Felici's avitar. Kimberly
I am pleased that you have started looking in on Shannon. He is taking his project so seriously and doing so well with it. There is a great bunch of youngsters on this forum. I think that young Shannon's problem about the gym is that he is used to being a little on the chubby side and he hasnt mentally got used to being noticeably slimmer now. He therefore expects people to have a pop at him for being chubby. The fact that people would probably never think of such a thing is neither here nor there.
As far as hubby goes - we all know all about the power of denial. Been there, done that! I just hope that I hit on something that will trigger him into taking it seriously. In the meantime - the best that I can hope for is him keeping where he is weight-wise or dropping a couple of pounds. A drop in the ocean compared to what is necessary.
I am sure that you will appreciate that there are a million and one ways where the whole situation is frustrating.
Take care
Love

Thanks for popping by. To be honest - I count most things by the handful - but grapes have to be torn individually from the stalk and I normally just count out 40 because that nicely fills the bowl that I normally use. Yesterday - I couldnt resist going back for some more so did an extra 15.
Take care

Rep Power: 90 | | | Hey Margaret...I do the same thing when I walk , I like to walk the same paths/areas so I know exactly how many miles I am going and what I am doing just in case the pedometer craps out or something...
honestly your weather sounds like B.C. weather...it was rare for us to get as much snow as we did this year...however each year seems to be progressing more and more...
We get alot of rain here mostly...we nickname Vancouver - Raincouver...We have beautiful falls...that are usually crisp but still warm that last for a looong time...
I can honestly say I love living here - out mountains are gorgeous adn most days it looks liek we can reach out and touch them...
Your doing good as always I see...keep it up Margaret - you are a great example to us all... |

Did you ever get that raisin thing figured out? Are you eating just grapes now to compensate for the lack of dried ones in your diet? |

One good thing about TOM making your weight stay up is that you're almost guaranteed a loss for next week.
