If I am locally classed as an eccentric walking lady now - just wait until I am the one that is stuck in a time-warp.
LOL
I can see you now! Walking in bright colored shoes, with bright colored jumpers and rah rah skirts. You will certainly fit the eccentric catagory that way.
But who cares! You will most certainly have earned it. | Watch out Harper's Bizarre here comes M!

Rep Power: 85 | | Short and more gathered than pleated - generally a two tiered thing - where you get more gathers half way down. Fashionable in England about 1982. Probably an English take on what people thought that American cheerleeder wore - which is not necessarily the same thing! rah-rah skirt definition - Dictionary - MSN Encarta
Anyway - I have some in Newcastle. All I need is the figure and them to be back in fashion! |

Loving the posts abt the ra-ra skirts! I think they were fashionable here a couple of seasons ago wait a few months and then they'll be back again! You will have such a fun time dressing up in your old clothes! And you will def be able to wear loads of them and feel really fashionable cos all the influences are coming from the 70s and 80s at the mo
Im so jealous! Have fun dressing up!!

Rep Power: 89 | | Apparently the 80s fashions have come back. However, when I'm at the store, they all look very 70s to me--especially the tops. How's your 70s collection?
Either way, imo, they are preferable to the baby doll tops popular right now that make you look pregnant..lol. Certainly after one has lost as much weight as you have, you would want to show off that new figure. |

I certainly have to lose some more weight to get into the rah-rah skirts. I am certainly not going to allow any of my very old clothes to be discarded now. I want to get into them. Kimberly
I suspect that a lot of 70s stuff went to charity shops years ago. My mother's house is so big that it is always possible that there will be more boxes of clothes there somewhere. There should be as she swears blind that she never sent anything that I knitted to a charity shop and I know that I didnt. There should be some 70s knitted stuff somewhere that I distinctly remember knitting and wearing.
If clothes that make you look pregnant are fashionable - you will look so fashion-conscious if you get pregnant - not that you need that kind of added incentive.
Take care
Love

Rep Power: 89 | | LOL! I told the pregnant girl at my office there's no need to buy maternity tops, as all those baby doll ones for non-pregnant women should fit her well into her 7th or 8th month... She thought that was funny. And she can wear them after she has the baby, too.
You knit? Your talents know no bounds. I'd like to learn how to knit and quilt, but have been too lazy to bother. |

Rep Power: 85 | | | I think that I have always known how to knit - it is something that I was taught as a small child. I made my first garments (hat, mittens) when I was 7 or 8 years of age. In my teens there was no stopping me!
I would say that I did my best knitting when I was in my late teens / early twenties. I have to say that I have done comparitively little in recent years.
I also used to do crocheting, tapestry and tatting when I was young.
My father used to be very good at tapestrywork and patchwork when he was younger. |

Rep Power: 89 | | Tapestries? That is pretty cool. Do you have any at your home? I'd love to see some if you do.
The closest I come to knitting is knit picking. Well, I used to finger crochet as a kid--but never made anything elaborate, that is for sure. |

Rep Power: 85 | | | No I havent any tapestries here. They were all small and I did them as a youngster. Nothing to write home about. All you need is a plan, a lot of patience and the ability to do cross-stitch. My father has a number of his on the walls in Newcastle - and he did lots of kneelers and things for the church.
My knitting was my major craft - and I will be pleased if I can find some of the things that I know should be around somewhere. |

Thanks for the congratulations. As you can imagine - I am pretty pleased - and sitting on top of another great milestone. I only need to lose a very small amount of weight to get my BMI into the normal range.
So you are decorating the spare room. Is this preparation of the nursery?
All is well here thanks.
Take care
Love
