Thanks for visiting. I am blessing the move that got us to buy this
treadmill. It has been very useful already - despite the fact that the weather is currently really nice. We were expecting a parcel to be delivered on Saturday morning, and Saturday is when we tend to go grocery shopping. Last Saturday when we had a parcel delivered I stayed home while Rod went to Tescos with the shopping list - then I set off on my walk after Rod got home so was later setting off and later finishing the walk. This Saturday - I got on the
treadmill. I was able to pause it when the parcel came and by the time Rod got home I had done 4 miles. It has been quite illuminating. It is always possible that I am walking quicker because I am not carrying a bag on my back - but I find that I am comfortable to do my walk at 3.4 miles per hour - which is quicker than I thought that I would do for a 7 mile walk.
I didnt mention it but we got a real bargain with the
treadmill. John Lewis was selling them at £1495. We knew that we would have to pay a lot as we needed one robust enough for us both to use. John Lewis was supposed to ask the suppliers some questions and phone us back and never did. It was only when we got sick of waiting and were searching on the internet for supplier info to get the answers that we saw that the suppliers did the reconditioned ones. We ordered what was supposed to be a reconditioned one for £815 including some extra bits. When it came - they hadnt had a reconditioned one - so they sent us a brand new one!!!

Rod got up to 10,000 steps again Saturday. Naturally he did part of it with general walking around and part on the
treadmill. He tells me that his pedometer says that he did between 3 and 4 miles (his pedometer displays in kilometers and he doesnt store it in a spreadsheet like I do so I cannot be more accurate).
I am pleased that you managed to find something to eat that night. I felt quite guilty for not thinking and giving you the fiber one bars back again so that you would at least have those. We threw something together to eat quite quickly on getting in - but it is so much easier when you have a stocked kitchen to hit.
The weather is indeed really nice.
We have got used to living round here. It has many advantages - near Rod's family, good motorway links, accessible for central London and the airport. Despite all that there is a much less urban feel to the place than you get further into London. That is not to say that I wouldnt happily leave the place to live closer to my family and friends. I cannot see us leaving to live somewhere else down south though!
Whilst my clothes are not really that skimpy in general terms - they are a whole lot skimpier than I was wearing when I was big!!!
Now you know why the next 10 pages of my diary will probably be food lists!!!!

I think that the notion that we use PCOS as an excuse has it's root in the disbelief that you see in some people's face's when you mention how easily and quickly we can put weight on when for some reason our bodies go into "pad out mode". The fact that people hurl out statistics that say that one in ten women have PCOS doesnt help either. As I understand it that is to say that they are carriers of PCOS which may go on to develop as we understand it. All that I can say is that I can assure anyone - if one in ten women went through what I have been through - there would be documentaries about it every week on the television the way that there were about AIDS in the mid 1980s.
I consider myself admonished by Kimberly (BikiniBound) for stopping posting my diary page for each day. Up until page 152 of this diary (from the start) I posted my food intake for every day. I stopped posting because there was some problems on the forum with the way that everything was displayed - and I couldnt do a copy paste from my records like usual. The most recent day that I posted was 5th June. I suppose that I really should catch up.
The high-lights are that eat a whole ton of fruit and vegetables. Probably more than just about anyone else on this forum. I was never told not to - and I had some abdominal pains last year that were unexplained and put down to constipation. Initially I tried dry fruit and then moved over to a lot of fresh fruit because of the high calorie content of dry fruit. I was pleased because the pains stopped so kept it up religiously. It finally transpired that a/ my bowel was continually moving around (I had an emergency operation to fix it in April) and b/ I have gallstones. It is quite possible that the abdominal pains were linked to one or both of these facts. I am now so used to eating a ton of fruit and it is working well for both my sweet tooth and keeping me feeling full that I cannot see a reason to change things now.
As I mentioned to you earlier - I eat no bread, rice or pasta - except in moments of extreme weakness in incidents that I regret. I get no ready meals and my pre-processed food is pretty much limited to baked beans - which I eat quite regularly because they are so good for our cholesterol. I look out for the healthy ones (checking content of things like
calories, sodium, sugar) and have come to no harm from them.
I axed cheese completely from my
diet because I was gaining weight whenever I ate cheese. I have only recently reintroduced cottage cheese and quark - and have had no ill effects from those two cheeses.
I was recently persuaded to reintroduce baked potatoes - and have been known to have an occasional piece or two of boiled potato with no ill effect (other than the higher
calories compared to other veg).
I would say - if no doctor has specifically told you to avoid fruit - feel free to give it a go and see how it goes for you. As you will see (If you jump back a few pages or if I catch up which I should do) I have a ton of fruit. Obviously take it easy and check out things a bit at a time as we are all different. I am a firm believer in taking the message from our own bodies and capturing in a spreadsheet. That is how I decided that cheese had to be axed for me.
I presume from your alias that you are a fan of sugar free jelly. I eat it all the time these days. I currently am making up at least two pints a day. Sometimes I invent my own flavours as the range is too limited for my liking. Yesterday I made one from low calorie no added sugar apple squash and gelatine and I threw in some grapes. It was really yummy.

I can just picture you on your elliptical. You give further proof that we are divided by a common language. I am so pleased that you explained that a tank top is a vest. For those of us in England of my age group - a tank top will always be a brightly coloured sleeveless top (always either knitted or crocheted) that was classed as fashionable for a while back in the early 1970s.
Rod did his steps in his carpet slippers - but the fact is that the steps got done.
It will certainly be convenient to get our exercise in wearing whatever we feel comfortable in.
I am certainly blessing the moment that we decided to buy the
treadmill. It is certainly working out well so far.

We love our
treadmill already. Other people have a lounge diner. We have a lounge
gym.
Take care
