Rep Power: 7 | | No time for any walks, but I'm sure you were doing your pilates while sitting in the car!!! (OK, only joking!)
So you're a northern lass. I love the accent from around there.
From what I've read in your diary, this Christmas period is going to be quite a challenge for you. I really admire your detemination to NOT get side-tracked. You've come an awful long way and you seem so focused on your objective. It really is a joy to read you. (I know I'm not the first to tell you that!).
Good luck surviving the northern winters without central heating (brrrrrr!). |

Rep Power: 85 | | Hi Auburn and Angel
No pilates or anything else en route. The steps only got as high as that by an effort to do a few extra steps at the motorway services and a mad dash around the house late at night when I decided that I needed my pedometer to at least be saying "healthy" - which it eventually did not long before midnight!
I certainly am northern. Born and brought up in Newcastle - but of Cumbrian heritage. I have lived down south for the past 23 years since I acquired a husband from Twickenham.
Christmas is certainly a challenge. I am exercising noticeably less, I keep being tempted in a minor way to have things that I would normally be strong and reject, and my weight seems to be going more upwards than normal (but fortunately still just a wiggle and not at any level to be of any concern). I am being as strong as I can be - so all of my transgressions are thus far minor.
I was naturally well used to northern winters in my youth - but now it is two days since we arrived and hubby is feeling decidedly under the weather with more cold germs. I am keeping taking the echinacea because I dont want his nasty germs.
Take care
Love

Rep Power: 89 | | So sorry to hear the germs have returned. I'm sure you'll be good Nurse Margaret and get hubby pumped full of liquids, vitamin C and echinacea.
I hope you enjoy your holiday with your parents and family. |

Rep Power: 33 | | Well POO Margaret!
So sorry to hear about the icky-poo germs returning!
My hubby is still ill! He's feeling ok as far as the cold part goes, but that nagging dern cough just won't go away!
I hope you guys have a Happy Christmas!
{I tried to find something that said Happy Christmas, but had no luck..lol
I'm pretty sure you guys say that instead of "Merry?"
Is that correct, or have I just watched to many Hugh Grant movies? }
I also wanted to say CONGRAT'S!!
You did so AWESOME during the challenge!
I'm so proud of you sweetie. |

Rep Power: 21 | | | My best friend is half-british (her mum is from Leeds) and she says Happy Christmas. So, yes, it is not just in Hugh Grant films (cute little skanky man, nonetheless.)
Margaret, I am sure you will be right back under your low once the holidays pass. Be well!! |

Rep Power: 85 | | | Hi Kimberly
Things are going well so far - apart from hubby having nasty germs. I got him some cold fighting bits when out on my walk - and he has sat in the warm all day watching the television. At least today (Saturday) my walking is at a reasonable level (all things considered).
Take care
Love

Rep Power: 85 | | Hi Stacy and Amber
Thank you so much for visiting. You both crept in while I was replying to Kimberly - mind you I did pause for a while talking to my mother.
The world is such a small place these days - we spend so much time watching the same television programs etc - that there really isnt a great deal of difference in phrasing. Accents - yes! You would probably be stunned if you ever heard my northern accent. It is not as harsh (or difficult to understand) as most geordies though. We probably use "Merry Christmas" approximately as often as "Happy Christmas".
It is the sentiment that counts - and I certainly appreciate your seasonal greetings and wish you the same in return.
I suspect that we are all having minor hiccups in our weight loss project (I certainly am - we are only human) - but know that in a little over a week we will all be right back on track. The new challenges will be just what I need. I already know that in a couple of weeks I am going to be complaining about having to count calories!!! Maybe I am psychic!
Stacy - what is wrong with these weeklings that we share our lives with. The poor things keep trying to infect us with their nasty germs. Naturally we are concerned and sympathetic - but surely - enough is enough!
Amber - I did a 6 month training course in Leeds in my youth in the late 1970s. The Yorkshire Ripper was killing people there at that time. It was quite concerning as he killed young women at pretty much each end of the road where I lived (in a less than nice area there). I cannot think of the place without remembering that time. One of my closest male friends (and chaperones) was held for two days as being a major suspect. We all occasionally live in interesting times!
Take care
Love

Got in a morning walk. Then went into town and got lasered. Then bought various items. Bought a new bra – which I was delighted with. I have been shrinking out of the one that I bought the weekend of the reunion (12th October). Then I was measured and told that my size was 40I. I got one today at Bravissimo and was measured. The bra that I bought was 36J. I am quite pleased with that improvement in two and a third months. Am also pleased with my stepcount for the day.
General Data:
Morning walk = 6 miles
Round the block = none
Extra exercises = none
Weight = 12st 6.2lbs (i.e. 174.2 pounds)
Steps = 25,167
Distance = 9.53 miles
Remembered to take normal vitamin / supplements
Continued my creaming regime – missed one bio-oil massage.
My Food / Drink:

3 weetabix, sweetener, 350 ml skimmed milk
3 large handfuls honey Shreddies
Roast pork, swede, carrots, onion, brussel sprouts, celery, cauliflower
1.5 large handfuls of raisins
2 litres of cold water

Rep Power: 85 | | | Thanks Angel. I am really pleased with the new bra. It makes me look instantly slimmer than I looked this morning. If only I could manage this kind of stepcount over the rest of the week it would be great (very unlikely!!!). |

Just read through your diary! Thanks for stopping in! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Well pre-new year and holiday ...lol
I am feeling all joyous, except for my weight gain off three and some ounces ... so I am upset there, but after reading some of your diary entries... I feel kind of like... I can do it too!
All of you seem to give me good inspiration .. I have been away from the weightloss forum for too long .. I don't feel like I have been very participatory ... but that is changing.... Tomorrow, if not raining I am going for a walk. I am so happy it will be raining...
Do you have snow? Ignorant much .. yes! And is it dreadfully cold where you are? I hope your husband is well soon and the germs take strides out the door hun ...
You sound like you are doing well ,even though the holidays are here, and temptation is here...
but you are right ..after these next few weeks ... We all shall be back on track .. I am going to try to get back on track ..starting tonight ..no midnight cookies! lol
love yas
ttylater Margaret!
always

Rep Power: 7 | | Well done Margaret for your continuing determination. You must be so pleased with the new bra and all that it represents
I wanted to ask you a question, if you don't mind. Looking at your food diary, it seems to me that you have only one main meal a day. Is that right? How do you spread out your food intake during the day? (Sorry, perhaps you've already answered these questions in an earlier post, but your diary is so long that I can't find it!!!) |
