Rep Power: 85 | | Hi Becky and MyOwnNBF
Thank you for visiting me with greetings and messages of congratulations. These are certainly much appreciated.
The good news is that although my weight has drifted up slightly (by a fifth of a pound to 12st 0.4 lbs or 168.4 pounds) - I start the new year as an overweight person - not obese. This continues to be a really big thing for me.
Take care
Love

I appreciate your message of congratulation. You really cannot imagine how surprised I was to hit a major milestone like that before the end of the year. It was not a couple of weeks when I expected to lose any weight at all!
Thank you.
Take care

I really am the luckiest of people to get even more lovely visitors with more special comments and messages of congratulation. I really appreciate you taking the time to say such nice things. Thank you so much. Tyly
What lovely compliments. Dawn
I have just checked my records (you know what a detailed spreadsheet I keep on everything related to my weight loss project) and my BMI was exactly where yours is on your ticker on 20th October. I know how motivated you are to make it happen - that may give you a hint of the sort of timeframe you may be looking at. It really isnt a long time at all. I would love to think of you managing to do it in less days and telling me all about it. I do a lot of walking - but you do a lot of those energetic exercise classes not to mention your swimming and gym membership.
Take care
Love

I really cannot believe it. My weight was exactly the same on Christmas Eve as it had been on 16th December. It just spent 8 days wiggling half a pound up, half a pound down..... On the 23rd I had over-indulged big time and was quite cross at myself. On Christmas Eve I was relieved that my weight hadn't shot straight up but I remembered something someone had written about sometimes weight from over-eating took a few days to show on the scales. I decided "enough was enough" and started being a bit extra strict than I had planned and the weight suddenly started to come off. I lost over 4.5 pounds in that week starting Christmas Eve.
You will be overweight in no time. You were just a fraction above that milestone a couple of weeks ago. I remember because you were a lot nearer it than me. Now you are back on track those splurge pounds will be off in no time and you will be through that milestone.
I have big huge rolls of fat on my tummy (not to mention stretch marks all over) so I cannot really picture me in a bikini - but certainly a nice bathing costume that I feel that I look ok in sounds very good. My friend Maria phoned me this afternoon from Greece - so I am definitely thinking that I want to go to Greece this summer for at least a couple of weeks. Next time that I go I want to swim where people might see me. I am sick of hiding away.
Take care
Love

Rep Power: 35 | | Thanks Margaret for the wonderful encouragement! I think I can drop that BMI of mine in 2 months. I am sure going to try. Especially with Kimberly's challenge. I don't want to be kicked off. So I will need to work extra hard!!!! And now that I have the Okay from the doc I can get back into the water again.
For 1/2 a second I was like who's Dawn? LOL And then I realized you were talking to me! hahaha. Only until recently did I let that cat out of the bag. SO everyone always just calls me Bellaryna/Bella. Which is a take off of one of my dd nicknames from when she was younger (like 3). She kept telling me how she wanted to be a Ballerina and how her name is Isabel (pronouced E-Suh-Bell) so she called herself Isabellarina. And of course Bellarina was taken hence the y and i being substituted.
I think that come summer you will be looking maravelous enough for you to be able to swim out in the open. I know exactly how you feel going to the beach and feeling soooo out of place. I am hoping that as this season approaches I will be feeling better about myself. Even with losing the weight I tend to still "see" myself as fat. That is a mental challenge that I need to overcome.
Hope your having a great New Year's Day!!! |

Rep Power: 25 | | HAPPY HOGMANAY! and on top of that, HAPPY NEW YEAR, MARGARET! hee hee...just had to throw that in for any fellow Scots who may be reading your diary... So absolutely thrilled that you have entered the new year as simply "overweight" and no longer obese! My, you have worked hard -- and it has paid off in triplicate!
Best wishes on your continued journey to better health in 2008, my friend.
Blessings,
Janice |

Rep Power: 85 | | Hi Dawn and Janice
Thanks for visiting again. Dawn
See - I know who you are. You just need to let the cat out of the bag and I will remember. I am like the elephant that never forgets.....
It is funny the names that we think of when we have to acquire a name for a forum like this. You need something fairly unique or someone will have already taken it. If you stick a number after your name you have to try and remember it. Omega was easy for me. It is a christian name used extensively in my family. I am descended from a vast array of Alphas and Omegas. My father had a sister called Alpha Omega. My grandmother had two sisters - a sister Alpha and a sister Omega - not to mention about 6 cousins called Omega. I was the last girl born in my generation of the family and it was the first generation not to have an Omega. I have always felt that I came dangerously close to getting landed with it.
It is funny to think that I was the weight of an adult female heavier than I am now the last time that I went swimming. I have a confused picture of my size. Sometimes I feel really skinny now (and lets face it - I am still carrying a lot of weight when you remember that I am short with a small frame) and sometimes I focus on the rolls of fat that are there for all to see. Janice
Thanks for your congratulations. I suspect that many Scots will still be celebrating. They tend to make a very big deal out of their new year celebrations. I would like us all to enjoy better health in 2008
Take care
Love
