Rep Power: 85 | | So 2007 came to an end and I finally get around to making an annual report.
At the start of the year my weight was where it had been for many years. I had long since given up on dieting and weighing myself.
My clothes were UK size 30 to 32 and I know that they had been this size for many years. My cousin got married in October 1993 and I have checked her photos and I know that the clothes that I wore were UK size 30 - I still have them!
Other weight loss attempts ended in despair - and I eventually just gave up.
Towards the end of February I suddenly started being more controlled with my food and going out of the house on little walks. I started just going round the block and putting sweets back in the drawer if my husband brought them to me. I didnt say anything but took more of a weight loss perspective when deciding what to cook for the meals.
Things built from these small beginnings. My walks got longer and I became more firm with my food.
I dont really have a start date as such - I really didnt expect anything to come of it. I didnt have a start weight either. We hadnt even unpacked the scales from when we had last moved house and when I eventually found them they needed a new battery.
I only know my start weight because my doctor later told me what I had been when she last weighed me. It is perfectly possible that I was higher than the 21 stone as she weighed me in November. It is highly likely that I will have been higher as I probably put on weight during that Christmas and the week that we spent in a hotel in Wales in February.
There are 14 pounds in a stone.
The first weighing at home that I did was
14th March 20st 7lbs
An overview of my later weights:
01st Apr 19st 11.2lbs
01st May 18st 12.6lbs
01st Jun 17st 12.6lbs
01st Jul 16st 11.0lbs
01st Aug 15st 8.6lbs
01st Sep 14st 11.8lbs
01st Oct 14st 3.8lbs
01st Nov 13st 5.6lbs
01st Dec 12st 10.2lbs
Final weight for year 12st 0.2lbs Over the year I lost 8st 13.8lbs i.e. 125.8 pounds
This weight loss is actually a normal weight for a lady of my height (5 foot 3 inches) and I am still very overweight!!!. I am very pleased with my loss over the year. |

Rep Power: 89 | | That is incredible, Margaret!! Very well done! You've lost an entire person!
Just don't be counting on a raisin bonus this challenge. Very funny, btw, Stacy.
I know you'll do well, regardless.

Rep Power: 85 | | Thanks for visiting. I normally like to do a report at the end of each month so I thought that I ought to do one. On top of that Phoebe (Alliephoe) did a year end report in her diary (at the end of the year she got her BMI to normal!!!) and I thought that the idea of a year end report was good too. It has kind of made me a little late in posting the first couple of diary pages - but my life is so repetitive that there will be very little in the way of surprises there. Angel
Thanks. I am a firm believer in setting lots of milestones. Then you can see that you are really achieving things. Kimberly
I know that you are going to make me count calories. I am so excited about the challenge I am on the forum and it is only 5.47 a.m. here. Tyly
Thanks Tammy
Thanks. Stacy
We are in the same team again! I am so pleased!
Take care

Rep Power: 85 | | Hi Natalie Jo
Thanks for your supportive comments. You should definitely keep going. Now you see why I go out walking as much and why I keep nagging you to keep on doing the same. It really has worked for me and no matter how good I was with my food in the past - it didnt get me very far without the walking.
I became greedy for the weight loss - once I saw it actually happening. I still am! There are plenty of days when I think - it is really cold outside - do I really want to spend the next couple of hours walking in it. Then I think of the loss so far (and not wanting the weight to go back on) and how much nicer it would be to be a "normal" size and I wrap up warm and go out.
Take care
Love

Good decision on the dvd today and the walking tomorrow. Our bodies just need that extra bit of exercise. The weekend sounds like it will be perfect weather for walking.
Take care
