Tabitha has a brilliant future
Hi Margaret,

I have no issues with people knowing what I weight because I'm told that I don't look it! Now take a deep breath at present I weigh 25st 6.5lb, and I'm 5'11" so look quite frightening! When I was pregnant my weight topped at 27stone 3lb which I was horrified at but I lost all that weight within 2 weeks and went down to 25.2 which was cool, but then I got stuck and rebounded up and down the the 25 stone mark... hence I'm buckling down this year!

I am lucky in that I am a size 26/28 as I can find clothes to fit in a few places but in my early 20s I was 32/34 and my gran used to make all my clothes for me... so you can guess I wasn't too trendy! And explains my current addiction to slogan tee shirts (they can't be made by gran who is still bellyaching at me to lose weight! and then often following up with do you want to take this cake home?)

The last time I got below 20st it took 3 years... I'm determined to do it quicker this time especially as I'm due back in the office in a couple of months and would love to be in my size 24 suits by then (which are all pre Jack).

Deaths averted I fed them instead, I have a toddler who cries if he isn't allowed veg and is addicted to apples and bananas!

Hi Tabitha

Your clothes size and the BMI all indicate that whatever your weight you are a damn site thinner than I was 11 months ago.

I cannot see how you would think you were frightening. All the top models are tall women. Most women wish that they were taller. It must be lovely to be that tall.

Speaking as someone with an 85 year old mother and a mother-in-law of basically the same age, not to mention a 90 year old father - I can assure you that I know all about the inconsistencies displayed by old people. I accept that I am not the trendiest of people - but I certainly am compared to them. My mother still wants to sometimes buy clothes for me - and I cannot say that they are often suitable.

My mother has long been on at me to lose weight - but she insisted on turning cauliflower into cauliflower cheese on Boxing Day despite there being tons of food and tons of vegetables already sorted out. She knew that this would mean that I couldnt eat it. When I said that I wouldnt be able to eat it she said that she knew that but everyone else could eat it. My mother in law (who also nags hubby and I to lose weight) kindly gave us both chocolate oranges as part of our Christmas presents. Hubby kindly ate it for me - but this was not an ideal solution either since he could do with losing weight as his BMI is noticeably higher than mine was at the start.

I am convinced that the sensible eating and exercise that is working great for me will take your weight off in no time. You having two small children will have an impact on the form that your exercise can take - but I am sure that you will get settled into a routine that works well. Tammy (niapage) has four children - one of which is very young - and I know that she has lost a lot of weight using an exercise bike.

Having children that love fruit and veg is something of which you should be very proud.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Hi Ya Margaret.

You're doin' so great as usual.

One thing I did want to remind you of as I was catching up w/reading here, is how well you're also doing with the water!

Remember when we first met, you had just started on trying to make sure you would get enough in?! Look at ya now!

You have improved in every area and just blasting away w/success.

I'm so very proud of you.

Thanks Stacy

Thanks for popping by and the words of encouragement.

The water is still something that I could happily cut down on. I wouldnt do it if it wasnt so good for us. I could so happily drink diet cola instead. I suppose that is addiction for you.

I hope that your Wednesday is as goal reaching and special as ever.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Grandparents are a strange breed... I think I get the brunt of it since my mum died a few years ago and she feels a bit guilty for surviving her. And it's really funny trying to keep a straight face as she's offering you hand me down clothes from her wardrobe! It just a shame she makes good cakes!

Luckily the mother in law can't cook so I have no worries there, I often take my own food with me to eat! It was awkward the first couple of times but it is getting easier, especially as most of her food is right at the top of Jamie Oliver's hitlist, she was so proud when jack ate chicken nuggets and chips twice in one day when she was baby sitting... grrr but hey once in a while isn't the end of the world.

Hubby came home from work today with a fitness dvd with the army bloke off celebrity fat club and it appears to be a circuit training style with bizarre skip marches and everything broken into 30 sec blasts, 3 folk are doing it as he stands there and barks with his stop watch, rather amusing to watch but will be murder to do... I'm almost looking forward to trying it!

Roll on Friday and my boys belated birthday party!

Hi Tabitha

Dealing with elderly parents is a challenge in itself. You dont want to yell too much at the white haired very old lady - but in reality sometimes it is exactly what they deserve and occasionally get!

I try to avoid my mother-in-law if at all possible. It really is the route to true happiness. We have never had a good relationship - and I strongly doubt that we ever will.

What a nice hubby - bringing you in a dvd. That sounds great.

The forthcoming birthday party sounds fun. It also sounds like a lot of hard work for you.

Take care
Love
Margaret

A number of people at my yoga class commented on the fact that they could see that I had lost weight since my last class on 11th December. I have lost half a stone since then. It is nice that comparative strangers said that they could see the difference on me.

General Data:

Morning walk = 6.3 miles
Round the block = 7 times (on two laps my husband came too)
Extra exercises = yoga class
Weight = 12st 1.0lbs (i.e. 169.0 pounds)
Steps = 29,607
Distance = 11.44 miles
Remembered to take normal vitamin / supplements
Continued my creaming regime – missed one bio-oil massage.

My Food / Drink:

1 banana
3 weetabix, sweetener, 350 ml skimmed milk
2 large handful honey Shreddies
roast pork, swede, carrots, onion, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, mangetout, brussel sprouts, celery, gravy
2 large handfuls of raisins
2 litres of cold water
some diet cola

Hi Sarah

Thanks for visiting.

I promise you - you would avoid my mother in law too!

I think that the key thing with creams is that anything - no matter how cheap - is better than nothing.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Hi Margaret
Great to see you doing so well! I have a couple of walking-related questions for you:

How long does it usually take you to complete your walking? Are you generally "in a sweat" by the time you are done?

Thanks, I'll drop by again soon!
Cheers
Janice

Hubby is to be commended for walking 3 days in a row!

Yes, your MIL is a piece of work. You are wise to avoid her as much as possible.

Glad to see your weight is on the down swing just in time for the first weigh in.

Great job on all that exercising! Truly an accomplishment.

Just wondering how much a stone weighs in pounds? I'm sure you know how us Americans are with our unwillingness to learn a different system.

Anyway, thanks for continuing to inspire us all!

Hi Margaret,

Hope the weather near you than it is up here, is miserable rainy but not that lovely fine misty soaking wet stuff!

I broke out the pedometer, but it wasn't on quite right so it hasn't registered properly! Ah well there is always another day! But at least my house is looking tidier with all the running up and down stairs!
