Today (Tuesday) - my weight went under 14 stone for the first time (13st13.8lbs) - it may not be by much - but it is under for the first time in "for ever". That is a third of my start weight (21 stones) lost. In 2 pounds I will have lost 100 pounds.
Gyms are very expensive. I do my keep fit classes at a local adult education college. It is a lot cheaper than joining a gym.
Yep, I'm hoping the deal is still going on at one place! They cut a deal with our apt. complex that all residents could join for only $20 a month.
No Contracts.
If that is still the case, I'm sure hubby will have no problem w/it.
way to go for being so close to the 100lb milestone - that's a great accomplishment - go to a sporting goods store... and pick up 5 20 lb dumbbells -or at least attempt to - to really appreciate what you've done...
your local classes sound like fun - as long as you're doing something -it's all good just enjoy it...
Thanks for your congratulations Stacy and Maleficent.
That sounds a really good deal at the gym Stacy. When we have joined gyms (when I was working) we have had to pay a lot more than that. Then we went a few times and found that we didnt have the time to keep going. We often paid the fees and didnt go.
I had not thought of trying to go weight-lifting Mal. I am such a wimp I am sure that I couldnt even try and pick up 2 of those weights - never mind 5.

keep that in mind when you realize how much you've lost
Did long walk and went to my yoga class. It rained most of the morning – but thankfully the rain was not nearly as heavy as last week – and it was dry for the afternoon walk.
General Data:
Morning walk = 6.3 miles.
Round the block = 4 times (on one lap my husband came too)
Extra exercises = yoga class
Weight = 13st 13.8lbs (i.e. 195.8 pounds)
Steps = 29,723
Distance = 11.02 miles
Remembered to take normal vitamin / supplements – plus Echinacea
Continued my creaming regime
Food / Drink:
1 banana
3 weetabix, 1 heaped teaspoon of sweetener (a level teaspoon is apparently 1.9 calories) and the (large) bowl topped up with skimmed milk.
200g chicken breast
3 handfulls dry pasta, half an onion, lots of courgettes, sauce (35 calories), fry light
2 large handfuls of raisins
2 litres of cold water
some diet cola
100 lbs down! That will be amazing. Normally I'd say you should go out and have a great dinner to celebrate but... no. I'm learning that I need to find other ways to celebrate that don't involve eating and drinking. Unfortunately, that doesn't leave a lot of vices to indulge in
I am not there yet (100 lbs) - but so near I can smell and taste it.
I just cannot get over being a third less. I am still obese and have still a very long way to go (more than many start with) - but I now actually believe that I can get to a normal range if I keep going.
You know there is one thing I TOTALLY Admire that you do, and it's cream your face and take care of your skin, I slack so bad on that I could just kick myself. LUCKILY by good genes I have fairly nice skin I'm 38 and only have a few fine lines, I guess having my twins at 20 saved me from spending time out in the sun after that point, and I never do tanning booths, so that also could be why, but I still need to cream, and reading about you doing that every day, has got me thinking I need to keep it up!! You do such a great job everyday your an inspiration for me!
Kim
Kim - thanks for saying that I am an ispiration. One of the reasons that I mention it in my diary is that it is so unnatural for me to do these things. I know that the weight loss has and will punish my skin. My skin is fortunately not too bad all things considered. I had rosacea when I was younger and for the past twenty years I have had to deal with facial hair via electrolysis and then laser on a regular basis. Mix in numerous Greek holidays and two whole summers spent in one of the sunniest villages on one of the hottest of the Greek islands and you will see that I have not really been the "one careful owner" that we should all be.
The one good point to having been morbidly obese all that time is that my skin has had a protective layer of fat which seems to have kept me a lot better on the wrinkle front than I really deserve.
I watch quite a few plastic surgery programs and this one hit home.
I thought - if she got so old looking for her age by going out in all weathers what is my walking going to do for me. I dont want to put effort into trying to avoid a tummy tuck and end up needing a facelift.

Sunscreen sunscreen sunscreen - never ever leave the house without some form of SPF on your face and it will be fine... most moisturizers contain it to some degree - it's the tanning that people do that's so aging... what looks good at 25 - looks like leather at 55
To be fair - when I was in Greece I did always apply factor 25 in the morning before going out - and being a big girl I tended towards being reasonably covered up (morbidly obese women in their 40s tend to look better that way). I wasnt very good at re-applying every so often though.
On the positive side - I did sleep in the heat of the afternoon. All our friends were Greek and that is what they did.
I am currently more concerned about the coldness and dampness of an English winter eroding my face than anything the sun is likely to do at this time of year.
