I am having a very pleasant weekend and hope that you are too.
We both had our hair cut today - so that makes us feel a little more presentable. It's amazing how quickly 6 weeks goes by and it needs done again. Hubby's brother's wife's sister is a hairdresser and she comes round to the house and does the honours.
As far as forthcoming weightloss goes - we will have to wait and see!
Take care
Love

I hope that your Saturday has been good too.
Hubby is still sullking after Newcastle United got beaten yet again. He watched it on Setanta Sports and is still muttering about it hours later.
Take care

Rep Power: 89 | | I'm surprised your H is a Newcastle supporter when he's from Southern England..lol. Or is that your influence?
Does he follow cricket? My H loves it, but never gets to see it over here. He's a member of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), and goes there sometimes when he's home. He really misses it--so we might have to make a stop at Lord's if we get to London in June. Wouldn't it be wonderful if England was playing Australia there then? He'd think he'd died and gone to heaven. I have no idea if that is even a remote possibility, though, as Cricket makes as much sense to me as Greek does, so I don't follow it.
Anyway, I'm glad you're having a good weekend. Have you been to Kew Gardens? Is it worth the 12.25 quid admission? lol It sounds beautiful, and I've never been.
That is nice that your SIL comes over to cut your hair--very convenient. |

Hubby loves NUFC. Going back to my youth - it was mainly men who worked with computers. My first computer department had 50 men and about 3 other women when I first joined it. Things changed with time - but it meant that the majority of my friends from work were male. When I moved down south - I used to arrange to meet up with the lads for a drink if I was up visiting for a weekend. When I first met hubby - he was 22 - an age when people can be quite easily influenced. One of the lads asked if anyone fancied going to the football match - I laughed and said "no" and hubby whispered to me that he fancied going. I encouraged him to go along - and he fell in love with the whole idea of live football games and NUFC.
Hubby does not follow cricket. I think that it is a bit slow for a lot of people. My father used to like watching the test-matches on tv when I was young - and it always seemed a bit of a tedious way to spend a week.
My nephew is a professional junior sportsman - so rugby does get discussed quite regularly around the family. Naturally we are always proud and interested in his progress.
I think that I have been to Kew Gardens once - and frankly cannot remember it that well. Hubby says that he remembers when it used to cost a penny and that was an old penny (240 of them in a pound)! He says that if you like flowers it may well be worth the money. There are plenty of other places that you might like as much or better that might not cost as much.
I hope that you are having a good Sunday. It is pleasant weather here today. I didnt realise how warm it would get this morning and took off my sweatshirt from under my jacket about 2 miles into the morning walk. Thisafternoon we have been to Tescos and I wore the sweatshirt but no jacket - and I plan on wearing that for the afternoon laps.
Take care
Love
Margaret

Rep Power: 89 | | I have a Liverpool FC t-shirt back from when they were doing well in the early 90s..lol. I'll be sure to wear it if I ever meet your H..lol. I like to antagonize.
I can understand being upset by England losing in the World Cup. I feel the same way when Mich loses the Ohio St game for the 4th yr in a row.
That's really neat about your nephew!
I see you're having some slight TOM scale fun, too. The joys of being female sometimes
H and I both like flowers and botanical gardens, but if we drop $120 at Wimbledon, I think we'll be skipping Kew..lol. |

Rep Power: 85 | | Thanks for visiting. I hope that Monday is going well for you. Angel
Hubby didnt watch the football on Sunday - as you may have guessed he was playing with the computer quite a lot of the day. This meant that although I had a window open for the forum I actually hardly got a chance to do anything.
Hubby's brother likes Man U - there is a lot of it about! Kimberly
I doubt that hubby would be too antagonised by you wearing a Liverpool shirt.
We were in Greece across the Summer of 2004 when Greece won the European Cup (and indeed the Olympics were on from Greece). The Greeks were particularly patriotic - to the extent that it was quite funny. There were a lot of television sets outside in the village and at all the bars. Every time that Greece scored a goal - people were firing their shotguns. This included the policeman with his gun. At the end of the game - he emptied his in the air! Then various people got in their cars and started driving round the village. Since you can walk everywhere in about 5 minutes - all these cars driving about looked so funny. Then they got the school buses out and loads of the younger people went up to Rhodes Town to gather at the harbour to celebrate. My friend got a phone call from her daughters (aged about 18 and 20 who had gone to Rhodes Town) to say - "we have gone to Athens to celebrate".
Although people get keen on England doing well - I doubt that people would react quite like that here. We caused our own little stir in Greece at that time by having an England flag (St George) outside our apartment. Such things may be commonplace in places like Faliraki where there are a lot of English tourists - but I can assure you that this is not the case in our village.
Yes - it looks like pretty much according to schedule - the scales have started going up. I very much doubt that I will see any new lows for a while now. The big question for me now is how much it will go up by (whether the new food plan will mean that it does not go up as much) and if it doesnt go up by so much - how quickly will I get back to my low weight.
Wimbledon is very expensive. That is a lot of money that you are looking at spending on tickets.
Hubby is sounding very positive on the idea of the Greek trip. He knows how much I want to go. I know that without my prompting he was doing quite a bit of searching for business class seat prices (he is still convinced that we need that size seats). This is a very good sign.
Take care
Love

Your food is so consistant That is good for you - I need to take some lessons in that department...Ive been too random lately and caving into stress and just not much time or energy for exercise - Im slowly digging myself out though...I wanna get totally back into things by the next challenege.Slowly but surely!!!
I was wondering about the next challenege and wanted to run something by you...It is ok to say no...LOL...But I was thinking about hte trams and thought it might be cool to be with you and mom2 - Just a thought - however...we are really big weight loss looosers like to be dependant upon in a challenege...
I need to refocus and get it together here and start dropping some numbers...
That is cool about your nephew - I use to play rugby in high school and I loved it!!! |

Rep Power: 24 | | | Hey Margaret. hope you are having a great monday.
football is great as lond as its not taken too far by the fans. have you seen Green Street? that really put into percpective how people react to games and how all the riots come about. it is quite scary. its good we don't get that where i am. i remember when the football ground was 5 mins from my house (its moved now) every game day our street used to be packed and all we heard all day was the crowd! it was really nice and lively especially when someone scored. i miss those days...
its surprising how many man utd and liverpool fans are around. its the big 4 that get most of the support! i suppose they deserve it lol!

I appreciate you offering me a team place for the forthcoming challenge. Back on pages 251 and 252 of Kimberly's journal - she and I agreed to be on the same team for the next challenge. I am sure that you and Mom2 will find a great third person for your team - maybe someone with nice regular weight loss (unlike my horribly skewed loss!) I am sure that you will do great because I know that like me - your exercise is guaranteed.
I have to say that I found it difficult to change my food plan - I had kept to the old one for such a long time. Sometimes things need to be changed about though. I do eat tons of food. I couldnt cope on one of these magazine diets where you have a few low cal meals a day - and that is it. I like to have snacks just about all day long.
I am sorry that you are not getting the time to do as much exercise as you would like. I swear that I am the most tranquil that I have been in a long time - all down to doing as much walking. Exercise really does help with the stress side of life.
You know as well that as long as we manage to be firm with our food and do plenty of exercise - the pounds do come off - maybe not to our preferred schedule - but it does happen. Angel
I havent seen Green Street. I do however agree that sometimes these things are taken a little far.
It's a shame that the football ground moved away from you. Urban regeneration happens everywhere. Every time I go up to Newcastle I see changes. It gets so that you hardly know your way around your own home town.
A lot of people do support the big teams. My hubby views people that support a team from an area other than their own or somewhere that they have major connections (as hubby has with Newcastle) as being a GSB. I am sure that you realise that the GS stands for glory seeking in this acronym. Not wanting to suggest anything about your brothers of course... Hubby tells his brother and nephew this (they both like Man U). His niece likes Chelsea - so that is ok as it is fairly near here.
Take care
Love

Your family sounds awesome. I love it when you tell stories of the people you love and the places you've been. I just love stories. LOL.
Greek patriotism sounds like it's quite hilarious. I would have loved to have been there, but I'm sure I would have gone home with a significant amount of hearing loss. Haha.
You know what always amazes me about you, that you always, (no matter what) walk at least 5 miles when you exercise. I have very much respect for that. I ran five miles for the first time last night instead of my usual four, and I'm telling you, I could do it everynight only if I LOADED up on carbs beforehand. I had enough stammina for sure, but my body really needs more food if I'm to run that much everynight.
Really Marg, I consider you a great friend already. I just love visiting your journal. You're so determined and dedicated and it's absolutely inspirational to not only me, but others I'm sure.
I hope you're having a wonderful Monday, deary!!
