i'm reporting in from my parents house- both of my friends aren't off work until 5 or so, so i've got some time to kill, just chillin out with the puppy and listening to tunes...
man oh man, i've eaten horrible today. my parents made ham omlet's for brekkie with toast (and butter of course), then for lunch i had leftover tortellini with alfredo sauce, i'd say about a cup and a half... upside -> we have no juice right now, so i've been drinking water. and thank goodness my lil bro loves hanging out with me, he did a 10min pilates workout with me this morning. i'm thinking of doing another one just cause i don't have anything else to do really...
We all are gonna have bad days. Just get back up on the horse and keep doing what you've been doing to lose weight.
Today, I went in the freezer to have a bite size Hershey bar that I knew was in there. I never crave chocolate, but today I felt like having a tiny piece. I searched that freezer over and none to be found. I was mad! My kids found it and ate it. Not fair... that was emergency chocolate!
That was nice of your brother to work out with you.
i'm back in the city from the suburbs- goodtimes were had by all... mainly me, but there's nothing wrong with that.
even though it was fun cause i love being home and sleeping in, and guitar hero, and playing with my puppy- i will admit my diet with completely to you know where... there was a big family dinner, with ham, and wine- tons of treats cause my grandparents were over, lunches out at restaurants... gosh. and then today at work, without even asking, i was presented with BBQ Ribs after my shift from the cooks- which i couldn't turn down cause immediately my mouth was like ugh. but not gonna lie- i loved every minute of it. lol.
i worked out 2 times yesterday though, so i'm happy about that, i'm going to try to convince myself to do it again tonight before bed, but i have some reading to catch up on for school...
so i'm off to go work on that, and i hope everyone has a good night!
Sounds like you had a fantastic time at your parents, and so what if you went for track for a few days your back now and doing excerise so thats that back on track,
We all do it but you have done the most inportant thing getting back on track (thats where i really struggle)
so all in all, it's been a pretty crappy week, i'm not gonna lie! but as you've all said, i can jump back on! i've just read up on all your diaries, and they're so inspiring and motivational- you all make me want to do better!!!
i stayed on track yesterday until i went to my friends house and her cousin was visiting from up north, so we all went out for ice-cream... lol- i love ice cream when it's cold out.
i need to get my new gym pass, but i hate going to the gym when it's pouring rain- after i get off work, i just want to come home... i'm going to my mom's house today before pilates- but i think instead of taking her to the restaurant by her place where i always take her, we'll go to the subway next door.
i'm getting so excited for my birthday- i'm having dinner at a restaurant downtown with 20 friends and family, then my friends and i are going out clubbing/partying until the wee hours of the morning, and then we're going to stay at a hotel... so excited!!! even though it's like, a month away! and unfortunately i think i'm going to have my RHC that night. grrrrrrr...
anyways, time to get ready for work! it's friday so i'm going to be running during my whole shift with orders! (at least i'm hoping to be!!) ha ha
I have just gone through your diary. On the whole you have been doing very well with your project. Don't worry if everything doesnt quite go to plan - especially when you go away (I had that last weekend too!). You just need to refocus and everything goes right. I failed far too many diets by giving up after a bad few days - I was so silly when I was young.
It was a really smart move to go through various people's diaries in search of motivation. Motivation is the key to staying focused - and indeed to refocusing.
So you have a pedometer. I use mine a lot. I wear it all the time because I burn calories all the time - so I count all my steps. I put it on when I get dressed in the morning so I cannot forget it.
Is it you that is having trouble with your pedometer or Anne?
I had trouble getting my pedometer to register all the steps when I first got it. I had a good idea of the distance that I was walking because we had measured it out in the car. The pedometer gave a totally different reading. The next day if I did the same walk it gave yet another reading. You expect a certain discrepancy because if you walk a mile you do not always do the same amount of steps.
Anyway - there are two aspects that you have to think about when wearing a pedometer.
1/ You have to make sure that it is set up with the right stepsize. One way of doing this is to have your heels on a line and then take 10 steps forward - then divide the length by 10. This is more accurate than just measuring the length of one step.
2/ You also have to make sure that you are wearing it right. I wear mine on my trouser waistband above the middle of my right knee. At first I had a problem as I said. It transpired that my bra was not supportive enough and my boobs were acting as a shock absorber so the pedometer did not detect all the steps that were taken. I started wearing a more supportive bra and the pedometer reading got a lot more consistant and started tying in with the expected length of the walk from our car experiment.
If you have any questions about your pedometer - or anything else - just ask. I am always more than happy to help if I can.
hey everyone... just checking in before i get ready for work...
thanks for dropping by, Margaret! I have the pedometer, i think my only problem is remembering to put it on in the morning, but thanks for the tips!!
oh stacy, if only it didn't exist... goodluck on TG though
so as you can all probably see from my ticker, i'm up 1.5lbs this week, but you know what, i'm completely okay with that- it'll be way easy to lose this week, i'm sure of it!
i'll catch up on everyone's diaries after work, i gtg jump in the shower
Putting on the pedometer - the solution. I have only forgotten to put mine on once (I was really rushed when I had a shower once and had visitors expected any minute) - I did get a surprise when I realised that I didnt have it on. What I do is I wear it all day until bedtime. I then clip it into the clothes that I am going to wear the next day. If I change or bath / shower - I move it from the "before" clothes to the "after" clothes. As I say it isnt perfect - but in life who / what is?
well, i drank lots of water today, and i've been mainly snacking on fruits, which is good. i'm going to go run and cut up some veggies to take with me to work so i can snack on them instead of bread...
i did some amazing photography on the weekend- some headshots of friends. i'm debating creating a flickr account for everyone to be able to see them- i'm starting to learn more and more about natural light- i haven't used flashes or anything else yet! coolstuff.
anyways, the fridge o'veggies beckons, so i'm outta here- i will be back after work though... ps- i totally went car shopping today and it was AMAZING AND SO MUCH FUN! i can't wait!
The photos sound good. You could set up a ringo account for your photography etc like I have my photos on (see p21 of my diary). I couldnt get my photos down to the size needed for the website.
Snacking on water, fruit and veggies is really healthy. Very well done!
