Rep Power: 8 | | heya everyone!! Margaret: I will def take a look at your photos as soon I finish writing this! I've never gone on to Ringo, but I always look up on flickr for random photography- it's so inspiring! stacy: you silly goof! I had my TG in October but but then, it was quite good if I remember correctly... ham, turkery, stuffing, corn... oh i better stop, my mouth is starting to water just at the thought... lol ha ha sarah: yup, i love reading other ppl's diaries! very motivational! and if you read up on stacy's journal- you'll not only get some good tips, but quite often you'll come across some laughter... esp. on a wednesday... lol
Well, i'm doing good so far- I was offered some sushi today, but I turned it down cause me and raw salmon don't mix that well- any other kind, i'm all for it :P so instead I was offered some soup, which I took- ate about maybe 1/2 cup on rice noodles with some crab meat (at least i hope that's what it was...)
i've also munched on some cauliflower, got a 6" ham and turkey sub from Subway with no cheese! and italian dressing! yay me i'm drinking the remnants of my diet coke as a i write this, but i also had some water earlier today as well... oh! and eggs and an apple for lunch.
I got to serve all by myself today! i of course still had my boss there and essentially we switched rolls- so i wasn't left wandering around thinking about hunger, so it was good!
today was also pay day, so i got my tips to put towards my birthday fund, which is now at $373.00!! yay! i should have enough money set aside for my birthday! and then i can start saving for other things... like a new camera! lol i'm way too materialistic, i really am. horrible. but very fun.
anyways, i'm going to do some pilates and workout for about 30mins or something before work, so i'm outta here!! don't worry, i'll be back later tho |

You are still doing really well.
It is great that you are doing exercise and being good with your food. This is the way we make our dreams come true.
If you and your boss switched roles - that means that you were his boss for a change - that would be fun.
Your birthday fund is really building up - you should be able to have a spectacular time with that. Your 21st is a special birthday - and you are going to really enjoy yours.
There is nothing wrong with a little materialism - everyone likes to have nice things whether they admit it or not. I think that you are very sensible - some young people do not appreciate the value of money and they just ask for things to be bought for them. You are working and earning money and are saving for things that you want. When you get older you need to be able to budget and you are learning these skills.
Take care
Love

Rep Power: 8 | | Margaret, you're such a sweetheart! thank you for all your kind words and support! Speaking of planning for the future and such, have you ever read or watched The Secret? It's all about positive thinking to get what you want out of life... it's a good read!
So I totally didn't workout like I said I would, but I wanted to go over some other stuff... don't worry, i'll squeeze in a workout sometime tonight *crosses fingers* cause i always like to workout on my own and add it to my pilates class- which is tomorrow
So I've been trying to follow my plan of 3 Proteins, 2 Grains, 3 Fruit, 4 Veggies, but I thought that on a whim yesterday, I would see what that would add up in points if i were to follow WeightWatchers (which I followed for the last 3 years...) and I was actually below my "target" for daily points, and I wondered if maybe this was why I wasn't losing as much weight as I was when I was actually following the points system. (or maybe I'm just trying to blame something else for not eating properly ie- junk food on weekends) so I've been going by points for yesterday and today, and I'm going to try and follow it for a week, then when I check the results, I'll see if there's a difference- then maybe I'll add another protein and/or fruit to my plan, cause i was always snacking on something, and yesterday I was good, but caved in during my last hours and had an extra Vector bar (i had no fruit in my house or I would've snacked on that) so I guess we'll see what happens then...
Today I've eaten...
Oatmeal (apple&cinnamon) 2 PTS
2 Cups of veggies (cauliflower and 1/2 of a green pepper) 0 PTS
1 Tall, Decaf, Soy, No Whip, Sugar-Free Cinnamon Dolce Latte 2 PTS
1 6" Ham sub from Subway with lettuce and Italian dressing 5 PTS
1 Diet Coke 0 PTS
1 Water 0 PTS
1 Apple 2 PTS
----------------
Total (so far): 11 PTS
I'm getting so excited for the Spice Girls concert that kicks off here in Vancouver on the 2nd! They were my heroes when I was a kid (and they totally still are) so I've been listening to nothing but their songs on my ipod. My friends and I are dressing up as well- I'm going to be Sporty Spice (which is a change, considering I was always forced to be Posh as a kid cause I was the only one with short, black hair) Anyways, I'm outta here for now!

I havent read or watched The Secret. I will look out for it. I always like to be motivated. One of the most motivating and inspirational people that I have ever heard speak was a man called Chris Moon. He has written an autobiography which is very good. You can read a bit about him here: Chris Moon MBE | Offical Office | Motivational Speaker | Inspirational Speaker | Key Note Speaker | Business Speaker
Listening to him or reading his book - you really can believe that anyone can do anything.
It is a good idea for you to do some exercise - I really am convinced that my walking really helps me a lot.
Some people lose weight with Weight Watchers so it is a perfectly valid idea to follow their points system - especially if you have lost weight with it in the past. As ever it is important to eat a proper balanced diet with all the nutrients that we need. As I understand it - it is possible to eat unhealthy food with Weight Watchers and if the points total is not exceeded it is not obvious that there is a problem. You would be wise to ensure that you still eat things that fall into the grain, protein, fruit, veg classifications that you have been using - even while adding up the points.
Also remember that if you have been eating junk food at the weekend - next time that happens they will translate into a great deal of points.
We all sin a little at times - but junk food never helps us achieve our weight loss dreams.
You have eaten sensibly with the food that you posted. Well done.
I imagine that you will be looking forward to the concert. Everyone enjoys a fun night out with their friends (even at my age). Talking of the Spice Girls reminds me. Around the end of the time that the Spice Girls were famous - my cousin Ashlyn (was about 30 to 32 at the time). Anyway her friends decided to all dress up as the Spice Girls. Ashlyn got a dress that had a Union Jack (i.e. UK flag) like Ginger used to wear. Anyway someone (maybe her husband!!!) described her as Grandma Spice......
I am pleased that you are enjoying listening to the old songs and am sure that you will have a brilliant night out.
Take care
Love

Yes, I was once one of those people who was following the points system, but wasn't really eating that healthily. luckily this time around, I'm taking note to everything I eat- lots of fruit and veggies this time around and not so much chocolate and junk.
I was happy that I did good yesterday- stuck to everything. Only managed 4 glasses of water, but that's okay, I'll make up for it today.
My friend is going to be dressing up as Ginger for the concert, and it's so hard to find a Union Jack flag here, cause she was going to make the dress herself, but from what I hear, she's managed to get a bunch of red, blue and white fabric and she's been sewing crazy mad since last night- there is 9 days until the concert!! One of my other friends is dressing as Posh- very small black dress with some heels; another is Scary- lots of leopard print; and another is Baby- blue dress, hair in pigtails, and she already has the good ol' white platform boots that Emma made so popular back in the 90's- ha ha! I'm going to be the comfiest person at this concert in my track pants and nikes, lol.
I have pilates tonight and it's my last class- so sad oh well, i'll stil have my dvd at home so i can keep up with it- and my instructor does private lessons with the pilates machines, so i might look into getting a price quote from her.
anyways, i'm off to shower and get some brekkie. the weekend is finally here!!! woo-hoo! |

So I weighed myself after pilates, and it said i was down 3.5!!!! i'm so excited!!!!!! I will admit that afterwards, we went out for sushi, but at least it wasn't burgers! but then my friend and i got a phone call that another friend of ours had a big blowup with her mom, so we ended up having girls nite, and went to the pub for drinks... and cheesecake. AND IT WAS SOOOOOO GOOD. luckily, i split it (...and the ice-cream) between the three of us, and only had 1 drink anyways, this is just a quick post before i head to bed, so night night!! |

3.5 pounds down is really really really brilliant news.
See - the scales knew how good you had been.
Weighing experiences dont come much better than that.
No wonder you had a good night out with your friends. I bet you wanted to celebrate. You were sensible to share the treats - if you had eaten a whole portion of cheesecake and ice-cream you would have had to do more extra exercise to burn it back off again. We all deserve a little treat at times and a social life while we are being good. Life is still for living - not put on hold until we are thin.
It sounds like you have really enjoyed your pilates classes. Is your instructor not going to run another course at the same place?
My keep fit teacher is also a pilates teacher but she doesn't do pilates classes at the adult education centre where I go. She does some pilates and yoga exercises in among the mat exercises. I think I like the aerobics part of the class best though. I wish that I could find some more aerobics classes. I would happily do more than one class with aerobics in per week.
Congratulations again.
Take care
Love

Hope everyone's weekend is going good- mine is! although work today was pretty boring and slow... i went to the mall after work to look for some tattoos for my sport spice outfit, so i got a bit of a walk in there, then i picked up a california roll and a small strawberry orange julius. so in total today i've had...
1 A&C Oatmeal
1 Banana
1 Vector Bar
1 Starbucks
1 California Roll
1 S&B Julius
I know it doesn't look that great, but to me it's pretty awesome, cause I usually gorge out on the weekends... so my habit is slowing being curbed...
I'm going to my friends house tonight after work so I'll probably not be posting until tomorrow.
Hope everyone had a wicked awesome weekend!
Thanks Margaret and Sarah!! Your posts are keeping me motivated to succeed!!! |

Well done for staying in control at the weekend. It is always difficult to curb a habit - and it is great that you are dealing with yours.
We always have to stay vigilant at those dangerous times we all have.
Be proud of yourself. You are succeeding - you are making your dreams come true.
Take care

thanks Stacy & Margaret for your motivational words- very very helpful!!!
i had an awesome time out at my friends last night- my friend going as Ginger is almost finished her Union Jack dress, and it look awesome!! There were four of us hanging out last night, 2 of my friends that are coming to the spice girls' concert with me, and then my 1 friend who was going to, but backed out cause she's having a baby- i think we're all happy she's gaining weight, she's always been the stick who never had to do much to lose weight, always naturally skinny, and the three of us have always been a bit on the bigger side, so we're all dancing about that... it's not a bad thing is it? we all know she's going to lose right after baby comes anyways, so we're relishing in it for now :P
i've been doing good today so far, woke up late, so my eating schedule is a bit off- it's all good though, just checking in- mommy's coming to pick me up soon to take home, so i've gtg get ready!! will report in tonight while working on my paper!!
hope everyone had a good monday! |

I am pleased that you had a nice time with your friends. You will have to post photos of the crowd of you all dressed up for the concert. It sounds like you are putting a lot of effort into the night out.
There is nothing wrong with you enjoying the skinny girl finding out a bit of what it is like to be bigger.
Well done for being good with your food so far today. Every hour and every meal all are important in helping you to learn new habits and also lose some of those surplus pounds. You know that this is so - you have seen the result at the scales.
I have had a good Monday thanks. As always I have done lots of walking - but also I have sorted out my keep fit and yoga classes for January to March. I am really pleased because I have managed to book onto an extra aerobics / keep fit class to go with the classes that I go to now.
I hope that the work on your paper goes well. I remember working long hours on those when I was doing my degree.
Take care
Love
