It really looks like you are doing well with your project. Your exercise is really good. It must be lovely to have a home gym. While your exercise is good it is not so important for you to worry too much about the odd 100 calories in the diet. For me - the main thing with the food is to make sure that what you eat is healthy and then just try to keep the calories at a reasonable level. Well done for managing better with your protein.
Well done in dealing with the relatives. It is so fun when you eat with a crowd of size 8 people. But you are right - there is certainly a sense of achievement when you cope.
Take care

i wouldn't worry about the extra 100. its the extra 500 i start to think twice about. but then again i do just want to stay around 160 and below so i should be able to maintain my weight with the extra 500 calories.
its great seeing size 8 pople everyday. have had to see them for nearly a week everyday now plus living with a size 10 sister!!!!! but i just think it wont be long before im there aswell. aslong as i keep at it.
only a few more months to go before im ther then it will be up to me to maintain it!!

You will be there (slim) in no time.
It must be difficult dealing with a skinny sister every day of life. I just encounter my husband on a daily basis and he is where I was weight-wise.
My father (as skinny as it is physically possible to be) keeps saying "we have our daughter back - you actually look like our daughter". I actually know what the old duffer means. I look more like the person that I was up to my mid 20s than I have done since then. The statement still irritates. I have always looked like me - it is impossible to not look like yourself for that length of time - you look like one thing at one stage and another thing at another stage.
People who have always been skinny are totally unaware that they can say things that irritate. It is simply that they have never been there.
Take care

nearly 4 weeks now. my monthly measurements will b here soon. i just realised that i did go over on the calories yesterday and ive done the same today. blame it on the holidays. tomorrow got another lunch so may be over eating again. cant believe it. i knew this would happen in the hols though. as long as i stay on 160 till the 27th i reach my goal so not tooo bad!!!! good news is im getting plenty of protein. also i had a good cardio session today:
10 mins bike
10 mins cross trainer
15 mins treadmill
15 mins step aerobic
average heart rate = 161 max heart rate = 243
not bad seeing as my heart rate needs to be between 110 and 170 for fatburning. summit like that!!!
tomorrows another day. got a full body workout day tomorrow. my muscles are hurting since the last one but i should b ok by tomorrow. i shall c.

x | Hey Angel,
Wow, you Rock! Your doing so well! I have finally come into your diary. I have been meaning too .. I love you nic and thanks for stopping into my diary...
Your heart rate sounds awesome! I usually get my heart rate up to 138 when walking, depending on how fast I walk ...all depends on the weather too ..when you have ice on the side walk it can be tuff to do a steady pace ..
but anyway ..congrats on your loss of weight so far ...
Best wishes
always

i know what you mean about insensetive comments though! i get them whenever the family gets together. i know my dad just doesn't think before he speaks but my gran will deliberetly make comments about my weight when we are in a gathering and keeps comparing me to herself when she was my age. she jus doesn't realise shes like less than 5' so a size 6 would have looked fine on her!! its horrible. but we will make them happy one day!!
gosh sometimes i dont realise whats on my mind until i right it down!!sori

I can say one thing. I honestly think that prettiness is over-rated among girls. I was never pretty-pretty. I was however classed as attractive and that seemed to be both better and easier to achieve if you hadnt been born to look a certain "chocolate-box looks" sort of way.
The main thing is really to smile (without grinning like a Cheshire cat), look like you are enjoying yourself and appear approachable.
It is amazing how many pretty-pretty girls can be outshone by the above. I have spoken to my hubby and he confirms that personality counts higher than looks and if you can see that someone has a nice personality that can be really good.
It is quite easy to take a compliment - although it can be a little disconcerting if you get a compliment out of the blue when you are not expecting one. One simple way is to just say "thank you". If you feel that it is appropriate it can be followed by "what a lovely thing to say" or something like that. People generally like their compliments to be appreciated and not questioned.
It's a shame that your gran is so insensitive. I am sure that she will not realise that she does it.
We will both be slimmer soon - and I am sure that we will both benefit from the boost to our confidence that this will bring.
Take care
Love

| thanx margaret!!
i just find it really hard and part of doesnt even believe it. i never grew up with the compliments in my family and friends. there was always someone thinner and prettier and still is so im just not used to it. i dont think its anyone elses problem. its my confidence. and i need to lift it up a lot!!! hoping the weight loss does that.
haha yu dont know my gran!!! shell do anything to make herself look better!! she knows exactly what shes doing. ive just learnt to smile and laugh it off but spending a week with her now its just getting to me!! there is only so much a person can ignore or take!
anyway its not important what anyone else thinks its important what i think. and i am gonna be so damn confident soon!

Rep Power: 85 | | Well done with the calories. Good luck for the big weigh-in.
I would not choose to have a weigh-in on 27th on which to judge the month's achievements (although I would naturally weigh that day like any other) as it could be marred by a temporary gain from Christmas day / Boxing day excess. The choice is however yours. If it is not all that you would like - weigh again on about 5th January. Please remember that you would probably have been putting on weight had you not been dieting. |

Rep Power: 85 | | Believe the compliments since as I said - attractive seems somehow to beat pretty-pretty and is much easier to achieve if you dont think that you were born with either.
I am sure that the weight loss will increase your confidence beyond measure - and as I said before - I am convinced that you could get to target long before your birthday. Until that happens you should try to focus on the quality person you truly are. There is no reason why your confidence should not start improving today.
If you think that your gran is funny about wanting herself to look better - I can tell you one funny thing. My mother wore white to my church wedding!!! She claimed that she honestly saw nothing funny in that. Some people love to try to steal the show! |

Rep Power: 85 | | You are doing really well with your weight loss project and I would hate you to get discouraged.
I am sure that your confidence will grow automatically - but it is a good idea to start trying to build it up now. Be sure to go out regularly with friends - speaking and dealing with people can be like a lot of things - practice makes perfect - or at least makes better and easier. |
