Yup, that's the only way it will work. And when you feel like giving up, think about the next day, how marvelous would you feel when you wake up and realize you did it one more day!
that is what i keep thinking. i've done it for another hour. another 2 and before you know it it's a day and hopefully oon i'll wake up and think it's been months and i've done it woohooo!!! can't wait!

Yeah, same age and same hour, I'm at Lisbon hehe.
Sleep well! **
Congrats on pretty much making it through your first week!! The beginning really is the hardest. Once you really start noticing results, that's when it is much easier to stay motivated (in my opinion at least!). But seriously, just one day at a time. The days add up a lot quicker than you might realize
Lol i agree withyou. The amounts of times i've quit in the beginning. jus hope i have enough self control to get through this time!!! i see changes already and i'm only 3 lds down. i feel different aswell!!
big weigh in day tomorrow. 1 week!!! wish me luck!!!
DAY 7 -5th dec 07
so far not so bad apart from the white bread roll with salad and cheese (lunch at uni. the healthiest thing i could find!!!!)
I am pleased that you are keeping your focus and keeping doing the exercise. We all have moments where we get tempted with food that doesnt exactly help the project. The big thing is to be as good as you can and forgive yourself if you slip up.
I allowed so many diets to fail by stopping trying to diet after one slip up.
Dont be as stupid as I have been like that.
Take care
Love
Margaret
ps - I hope that they liked your late night poster.
thanx margaret-they seemed to like the poster. will c wot grade i get for it though.
its bin rubbish the rest of the day. again i feel bloated and horrible. i've been eating a lot aswell the rest of the day. not even going to bother listing but i have tried o keep it healthy. That white bread has left me feeling horrible!! plus i didn't get any cardio excercise in today because of visiting family. just got back now at midnight.
AND i had a 1000 word essay to write tonight which i'm not sure i'll be able to do now so i'll have to fit it in sometime tomorrow on top of my 1500 word essay!!!
AAAAARgh!! and it's my first weigh in day tomorrow. I hope it's still shows atleast a 3lb loss!
I can't believe how much i moan. On a posotive note atleast i walked for about half an hour and my pedometer reading is up(more than normal).
just hope tomorrows weigh in is ok.
It was not a zero exercise day if you did extra walking.
I have lost a considerable amount of weight using walking as my only or main form of exercise. It is excellent at burning fat.
We all have days when we are less controlled with our food - but we should never feel bad about it. We should just try to eat as healthily as we can.
Do not consider the project as a failure if you do not lose 3 pounds. That is actually a lot of weight to expect to lose in a week. They say that a good healthy rate of weight loss is between one and a half and two pounds in a week. If you look back over the October and November 2 pound a week challenge threads you will see that although I lost weight at a pretty good rate (and I consistently worked very hard to do so) there were weeks when I did not lose 2 pounds.
I know for a fact (because I worked it out at the end of the month) that I walked an average of 10.75 miles every day of November. At the end of that 30 day month I lost 9.4 pounds in total which is just over 2 pounds a week.
I would like to see you losing 3 pounds across the week and it is possible, but you should manage your expectations so that you are rightly pleased with any loss that is achieved and consistently held off.
you are right margaret. i did walk for 30 mins more than nrmal even if it wasn't vigorous atleast i did it. my problem is i'm abit of a perfectionist and start taking things to the extreme. when i started i set myself a goal of losing 1lb a month and that way i would reach my goal by my birthday. Which would be amazing. So i'm going to stick to that.
Today the scale read : 161.5. Which makes my weight loss for the week: 2.5 which is 1.5 more than i hoped for. in a way i am well into my 2nd and 3rd week which is not bad especially considering my eating and excercise habits for the last 2 days.
Hope today goes better even though i've got to write 2500 words from somewhere. Hmmm should b interesting. most likely means i won't get any excercise in today.
There is nothing wrong with you aiming to lose as much weight as possible - in fact this is what I do. I just did not want to have unrealistic expectations and feel a failure if they did not come about.
The body seems only willing to ever give up so much fat.
If you look at my entries regarding the month end of November you will see quite how hard I worked to achieve my November weight loss.
yeah i know i'm trying my bet but if i don't lose more than a lb i don't mind because i've got roughly 30 weeks till my birthday and that should b ok. If i lose more than that it's a plus. I always set myself unrealistic goals. i remember once i tried to lose a stone in amonth and when i didn't i gave up but i had lost 10lbs which is quite a bit. oh well i've given up soo many times unbelievable.
I am hoping to be a lot nearer my goal for my birthday - but it will be a lot of hard work.
Thats sooo cool. journey together.
true true a lot of hard work but well worth it hopefully!!! I can't wait were gonna b lovin the birthdays this year!!!!! woohooo!!!

Jus give me a good wake up call if i decide to give up.
It will be wonderful if we are at or nearly at our goal weight's for our birthdays. I really want to get there - but we will have to stick at it or it wont happen.
