Thumbs up 2 week diet plan

About 10 days since I posted. All is going well, haven't weighed my self. Haven't walked, until yesterday. I decided to go back to basics & that is my 2 week diet plan, after all that is the way I got to where I'm at now. My main focus was to stay off sugar, when I finish today it will be 2 weeks without sugar. I'm going to start counting calories tomorrow. Will also weigh myself, I will be surprised if I have gained weight.

My focus until my birthday on July 4 Th. will be to lose 20 Lbs. & to walk every day, with at least 1 mile every day.

I am sure removing the sugar will really help. How do you feel without it?

20 pounds in two weeks seems like a lot to me. I don't think I could pull that off. It has taken me about six weeks to lose 19 pounds. I think I could do 5 to 10 pounds in two weeks if I really tried but it would be quite a challenge.

Edit: Oh, I see I misread your post. 20 pounds in a month is doable but still a tall order. That's about five pounds a week. I have sometimes been able to loose that much but not often.

Weigh in

Weighed in at 236.75 thats a gain of .75 Lbs. Not good yet it is good because every other times I quit watching what I ate I gained a lot of weight in a short time. So I'm very happy. Most likely it was the no sugar.

So by my birthday I will weigh 216.75

WEIGHT TODAY - 236.75
LBS. TO GO - 20.00
DAYS LEFT 29

Good job! I quit sugar cold-turkey 13 weeks ago, and you really get used to it. I think I was OK with it was I used splenda or something in my tea or coffee and that made the drinks or cereal edible, where if it was plain I think I would have had "just a little pinch", and you know how that goes.............

Unhappy Not Bad Is Not Good

I said earlier today I only gained .75 Lbs in 10 days & that is not bad. That would be a huge gain of 27 Lbs in a year.

I did have a good day today, did not eat anything today it was not easy. It was planned, it has been a while since I fasted a whole day.

Ran 7 miles today in 1:35

Gainning Weight

I got to thinking how it seems so easy to gain weight. Anyway if you are eating the right amount of calories to maintain your weight. What would happen if you added one snickers bar a day which is 280 calories. You would gain 29 Lbs. in a year.

How do you feel after the fast?

Now that I am paying more attention to what I eat, I can't believe how easy it is to gain. I guess I should believe, given that I gained so much over the years.

Got up early (6:15 AM very early for me) did my running before it got hot it was only 75 degrees when I got done. Did 4 miles in 56:52. Since I fasted yesterday, I think there will be an weight gain tomorrow. It will be interesting to find out.

BigBear, Now that the fast it was not hard, & I feel fine a little hungry
this morning but not bad.

It doesn't sound bad at all. How often do you fast?

I haven't been fasting but I do only eat two meals per day. It was hard at first but it has become routine. I have known people who fast once per week. I have always wanted to try that but have never had the will power. Perhaps I should try again. My fasting friend gave up food one day per week not for weight loss but for religious reasons. Either way, it could be a good idea.

It is amazing that you dropped 5.75 pounds in a day. Do you think that was water or fat? I don't think I have ever done more than about three pounds in a day and when that does happen there is often a correction the following day, leading me to think the loss was spurrious to begin with.

BigBear, This is only the second time I fasted since I started my diet. I would have to bet my 5 Lb. weight loss was mostly water. We will find out how much so in the next coulple of days.

I would say I've stayed within my calories today, except I have not eaten dinner yet. So I will hopefully give a thumbs up latter on calories.

Wow--impressive, Chip! Your weight loss is just amazing!

I've always wanted to fast, but since I have diabetes, my doctor says no way. I'll just have to live vicariously through your fasts

And because of the diabetes, I can relate to your sugar cravings. I can have SOME sugar, but I really keep it under tight control, maybe once or twice a month. I drink an ocassional diet drink, but for the most part, I stay away from artificial sweeteners; they just seem to keep my taste for sugar alive. Another thing you might try: be careful of white foods like flour, rice, etc. Your body "interprets" those foods as sugar, and you know sugar creates its own craving cycle. Whole grains work for me; may they will for you, too.

I hope you don't mind if I keep looking in on you. I'm finding you very inspirational.

Unhappy Calories today

Sad to say I only had maybe 800 calories today. I'm not happy about it. Its a long story & I'm not going to get into it. I will look forward to breakfast.
